Disco Dale 0 Posted January 8, 2005 What squad number do you think Deano will be given? The only unallocated ones within the current squad numbers are 2,4, 25, 29 or 30+. Can''t see a striker wearing 2 or 4, so probably 25 or 29 then. Do you think Jonson could be persuaded to give up the No.9? We could adopt the Italian approach and end up with stupid squad numbers like 99? I''m afraid I''m old school and like to see the first choice striker wear the No.9 shirt.Is anyone anorak enough to know if there are there are official Premier League rules on squad numbers? There was also one instance at Inter a few years ago when somebody came in and wanted 18, but the original player with 18 wouldn''t give it up, so they resolved it by having 1.8Other possible numbers:69 (shows who is the idiot of the club)007 (wannabe action hero!) Campbell 0 Posted January 9, 2005 I think a player in Italy (Possibly Ivan Zamorano at Inter) when he first signed for his club, had the number 99 because he wanted to be number 9 so badly...and they made the first 9 stupidly small, so it was barely visible!
