Fr. Chewy Louie 140 Posted February 15, 2011 To be fair, we have already got 3 live games on Sky within a month.I thought that was the point of it being on the Thursday night though, or was there another reason?

Baracouda 47 Posted February 15, 2011 The 4-1 was on bbc if I remember, and they did a regular game each week. But not sure, if that died a death. Hasn''t it become the case in recent seasons that Carrow Road gets the game and not Portman Road. anything, to do with them not filling their ground?
Baracouda 47 Posted February 15, 2011 sorry, meant carrow road game shown on tele and not the rematch at portman road.
Matt Juler 208 Posted February 15, 2011
is bbc still covering some championship games?
BBC have two games in April, Leeds v Forest on the 2nd, and as above, Cardiff v QPR on the 23rd.
Bethnal Yellow and Green 2,424 Posted February 15, 2011 The BBC get 10 Championship games a year and had a strategy of showing derby games in the first half of the season, and will now start to focus on top of the table games towards the end of the season. Norwich v Ipswich probably won''t get a look in, as although it is a big derby Ipswich won''t be troubling the play-offs at the end of the season.
Mahogany 0 Posted February 15, 2011 Might also be because the game is scheduled for a Thursday so it would be difficult to move to a time that either Sky or BBC would show it due to other fixtures

ca 1 Posted February 15, 2011 I''m glad the Ipswich game isn''t on Sky, we play better when we''re not on there[:D]

Gerry Harrison 2 Posted February 15, 2011 It''s a real pain having our fixtures move to suit to TV coverage. I''m struggling to get time of work to make the Forest game now bloody Sky have got it moved. The next Football League TV contract is up for grabs to cover matches from season 2013-14. One package is to screen 10 live Championship games on THURSDAY NIGHTS. So plenty of being messed around to look forward to.

Block E Buh 0 Posted February 16, 2011 Why has the scum game been moved to a Thursday?
Harry 0 Posted February 16, 2011 Game was originally on the Saturday but as usual the Police didn''t want it played at 3pm on a Saturday, because it''s Easter weekend and there is a full fixture list on the Monday afternoon they couldn''t move it to the Sunday so moved it to the Friday. We can only assume the Police realised how much it would cost to Police the game on Good Friday so moved it again to the Thursday night which they see as a lower risk as they assume fans will be working most of the day so won''t have time to get tanked up.
