Some strange ratings there....

For a start, why NA for Askou, but 6 for Jonhson, when Askou has probably had more time on the pitch?

Secondly, why Surman higher than Crofts? (also Drury, and Chris Martin, Ruddy, Nelson and Korey Smith abover him...) was it a mistake, or do you really not think Crofts has been that good?

I think really in fairness (if you actually want to rate players individually, their not a team of individuals, their a team.), you would have to leave out Askou, Whitbread, S.Smith, Gill, OTJ, Surman, Wilbraham and Johnson as they have not played much at all....

John Ruddy - 7.5 - a shaky start saw many fans question him, but has been consistently solid over the last couple of months and now looks the real deal.

Declan Rudd - 6.5- performed as asked against Barnsley and did nothing wrong in the FA Cup match.

Leon Barnett - 8.5 - a revelation since joining City on loan. Quick, strong in the air and a threat in the oppositions box.

Elliott Ward - 7.5 - solid, steady and reliable, however culpable of the odd headless chicken mistake.

Michael Nelson - 7.5- really stepped his game up, still our most threatening player from set-pieces.

Zak Whitbread - 7.5 - since recovering from longterm injury, has shown a glimpse of his solidarity, decent speed and a cool, calm and collectiveness required at the back.

Jens Berthel Askou- 6.0 - disappointing against Palace, but much improved against Sheff Utd. Perhaps not quick enough for this level.

Adam Drury - 7.5 - Mr Reliable has looked as steady as ever at the back, and even got on the scoresheet! A true great Norwich professional fully deserved of his upcoming testimonial.

Steven Smith - 6.0 - looked shaky to begin with, but grew in confidence until injury ruined his run in the team, and possibly his Norwich career is now over for personal reasons.

Russell Martin - 8.5 - another one with a point to prove to some outsiders, he has shown great defensive and attacking prowless and surely is now first name on the team sheet. Played every game this season and gets better each game he plays.

David Fox - 7.0 - does the dirty work and may become one of the unsung heroes of the side. Great passer of the ball and possesses a real long-range threat.

Andrew Crofts - 8.5 - started the season in top gear, looks a top bargain buy and covers every blade of grass on the pitch. Will never back down from a challenge and that''s why he is fast becoming a fans favourite.

Korey Smith - 7.5 - has showed some natural footballing skills and a good footballing brain. His energy means he can run non-stop and I think he will be a big player for us in the near future.

Matt Gill - 6.0 - done what has been asked of him, however may find it hard to break into the side unless we have injuries in midfield.

Owain Tudur-Jones - 6.0 - same as Matt Gill, came into the side against Boro and did not let anyone down, but may be one of the first go move away in the summer.

Simon Lappin - 7.5 - he has taken a lot of flack from past managers but has improved his game because of it. A leader on the pitch and a threat whenever he gets the ball wide. Will always give it his all.

Anthony McNamee - 6.5 - disappointing when he starts a match but impressive when used as an impact sub. Always gets the fans on their feet but may not see much action in Lamberts preferred diamond midfield.

Henri Lansbury - 7.0 - the Arsenal youngster has shown his eye for a fantastic pass, and will always be remembered for THAT pass against Ipswich. Hopefully will sign till the end of the season and he possesses creativity.

Wes Hoolahan - 8.5 - easily our most creative player, looks comfortable on the ball and is always available for a pass. So glad he signed a new contract and I believe he will play a large part in our promotion push this season.

Andrew Surman - 7.0 - has shown us glimpses of real class on the ball in between the periods of injury. Will need a good run in the side and if he gets this, I believe he too will become a major factor in our season.

Grant Holt - 9.0 - captain fantastic is now the fans favourite and has shown he can score plenty at this level. Our biggest goal threat from open play, Holty is as reliable as ever now.

Chris Martin - 7.5 - frustrates some and loved by others, he has not turned his skill into goals however links well with others and undoubtably possesses great natural skill. If he can add more goals to his tally consistently, he will be a shoe-in in this side.

Simeon Jackson - 6.5 - quick and agile, he has shown he knows where the net is but tends to drift out of games and does not add much more than his pace. I think he may be used more as a sub in the near future.

Aaron Wilbraham - 6.0 - brought in for his height and as cover for Holty, he will take a little while to find his feet at City but once he beds in he could be a great player for us.

Oli Johnson - 6.0 - another fans favourite who has not been able to bag a starting place in the side, but has been sent out on loan to get some match practice. He adds something different to the team and I think he will be kept in or around the first team squad in the near future.

I did mine on a post recently "half term report" and how anyone can give C Martin more than 6 is way beyond me!

Here are mine from my previous post

We are just over halfway through the season and thought i would give my half term scores and verdict on the team:

Ruddy: 7 started off a bit shaky, couple of rickets, but is getting better week by week, needs to be a bit more commanding in his area.

R Martin: 9 the most improved and most consistent player in the team, chipped in with a couple of goals as well POTS front runner so far

L Barnett: 8 best signing so far this season built a good partnership with Ward only indiscretion was the red card and ball throwing against Pompey

E Ward: 8 Formed a good partnership with Barnett and has settled in well

A Drury: 6 great when he''s in the team, if he stays injury free we have an excellent back 4

Crofts: 8 he''s here he''s there he''s * everywhere, nuff said, been immense in midfield Russell who?

Smith: 7 Consistent as ever, needs to chip in with a few more goals, still learning tho

Lappin: 7 Mr I can and will play anywhere, consummate professional deserve new contract and best crosser of the ball we have.

Hoolahan: 8 was a bit off the boil at the start of season and was rightly dropped, last 2 months tho been on fire and glad he has signed a new deal. Also his work rate has been excellent as has his tackling and defending.

C Martin: 5 to be fair has been * so far, doesn’t look interested (maybe his court case is on his mind) only scored 4 league goals and looks fat and lazy, would be worried if Lambert brings in another out and out striker

Holt: 8 Started slowly was injured and had no pre season but has now proved his critics wrong works his arse off and scored 3 against the scum

The Rest:

Nelson: 6 when he’s played done a good job when needed and has proved people wrong that he can play at this level.

Fox: 7 good signing comfortable on the ball does the Croft role well when needed.

McNamee: 4 utter *** when he starts a game cant cross a bridge, not a championship player, might do something if he comes on last 10 mins of a game but that’s all, very poor man’s Hoolahan.

Jacskon: 5 has bags of pace and scored some good goals needs more time on the pitch and deserve to start more than Martin.

Surman: 6 when he is fit you can see what a class act he is if it was on performances only would have been a 7 or 8, need him back fit.

Askou, Whitbread, Smith, Oli, Gill, Wilbraham and OTJ haven’t played enough for a rating.

Special mention to Lansbury who I hope we keep as he could be the key to making the chances to score that could see us promoted.

John Ruddy 7.5 brilliant in the air, good shot stopper, improving all the time, needs to command his area more and quicker with decision making

Declan Rudd

7 Never gives you anything to worry about, is going to be a special keeper, fingers crossedLeon Barnett 8 Wins most things in the air, covers the ground well and rarely gets beat man for man, could improve distribution

Elliott Ward

7.5 Comfortable in the air most of the time, surprisingly subtle touch for a big man, is prone to the odd mistakeMichael Nelson

7.5 Gets better every time he plays, will score more goals than any of our centre backs, pace may be an issue but as hard as nailsZak Whitbread 7 Competent defender, comfortable on the ball, more to come provided he stays fit Jens Berthel Askou 5.5 Not sure if he will get many chances, but has not let us down when called upon, solid no thrills, needs gamesAdam Drury

8 Best left back in league 1 last year and championship this year so far,  makes very few mistakes, a credit to the gameSteven Smith

5 Did ok in the two games i saw him in, looked short of match practice and then injured again. Russell Martin 9 Excellent half season, thought he had a below par game for him on Saterday, he marked bellamy out the game & scored,

David Fox 7 Looks like he is settling in, keeps play moving, rarely gives the ball away and a cracking shot,  lacks height defensivelyAndrew Crofts

7.5 Has been excellent so far, wins a lot of tackles, gets in great positions & scores, 1st touch sometimes poor, hope he doesn''t tireKorey Smith 6.5 Still finding his feet in this league, but will get better, Landsbury arrival might hinder his development

Matt Gill 5 Struggling to make the team, but is a team player and apparantly a good influence in dressing room,

Owain Tudur-Jones  N/A have not seen him play this seasonSimon Lappin

7 Another team player who sweats blood for the cause, deserves his new contract and an important player for us due to his versatilityAnthony McNamee  6 Not seen him play well from a start, but as a sub is quick, worries tired defenders and gets some decent crosses inHenri Lansbury

6.5 Impressive in patches, not sure if he is 100% match fit, will improve if he stays the seasonWes Hoolahan

8.5 An absolute pleasure to watch, always available, makes things happen, best signing so far this season , wes till 2014Andrew Surman

6 Unfair score, because have seen 9''s sporadically, will improve no end once fit, will take a while for team to get on his wavelength Grant Holt

9.5 Probably the catalyst for this team, a brave, hard working  & inspirational attacker, though somewhat theatrical at timesChris Martin

7 Not as prolific as last year, but works hard and is getting chances, needs a few goals to kickstart his seasonSimeon Jackson

6.5 Still think he will come good, works hard, good touch, would like to see him play off holty or wilbrahamsAaron Wilbraham 6 Did not understand the signing till last 20 against Cardiff, holds up play well and unsettles defenders, might even score a few Oli Johnson 5 No impact this season, hope he does well at Yeovil, i wont forget how important he was last year for us

John Ruddy 7.5 solid since the penalty save v swansea

Declan Rudd

Leon Barnett 7 fairly solid throughout

Elliott Ward 7 again fairly solid

Michael Nelson 7 Got better the more hes played, best threat of a goal from a CB aswell

Zak Whitbread 8 looked the best of the bunch in CB for me.

Jens Berthel Askou

Adam Drury 8 best hes played in years ,wehn fit

Steven Smith 4always injured, looked shaky anyway

Russell Martin 8.5 was just about to give up on him last season.most improved player at the club, you can tell Culverhouse does a lot of work with him

David Fox 6 patchy

Andrew Crofts 8 Most of the time solid, real workhorse

Korey Smith 7.5 busy little player, sometimes a bit lost, but will be our best player in time.

Matt Gill

Owain Tudur-Jones

Simon Lappin 8 played out of position a lot, covered solidly in doing so.some good crossing

Anthony McNamee 7 not his biggest fanmark only as high due to sub apperances

Henri Lansbury 7.5 is going to be one hell of a player, still learning

Wes Hoolahan 8 Genius at times, gives the ball away loads other times.overall quality

Andrew Surman 7 if fit with a run could be class

Grant Holt 9 slow start, man is he going now tho

Chris Martin 7 not enough goals to get a higher mark for a forward, looks twice the player in the hole rather than up top

Simeon Jackson 5 headless chicken at times, odd good glimse not enough yet tho

Aaron Wilbraham 6 not really seen enough of him

John Ruddy 8.1 looks solid as a number 1 he had a slow start but looks like a great shotstopper come the midpoint of the seasonDeclan Rudd N/A lack of games so cant be ratedLeon Barnett 7.9 has been one of the best players this season but halted playing games after the portsmouth red cardElliott Ward

7.5 He as made a few mistakes but has found his feet in the teamMichael Nelson

7 Hasent had a fair share of games but has done wellZak Whitbread

6.9 Again, he hasent played enougth by injury but has looked solid Jens Berthel Askou

6.0 I feel he has struggled so far yet to make the step upAdam Drury

7.7 Allways consistant, Decent going forward and has finaly scored a goal. A great season for the left backSteven Smith

N\A I have never seen him playRussell Martin 8.4 Has overexeded my expectations, I seriously thought he would struggle but has been one of our best players David Fox

7.4 Rarely made any starts at the start of the season but after the game at Derby County he has started more games and looks like a good playerAndrew Crofts 8.1 He has had quite a season. winning the balls and isnt affraid to make strong challanges. Crofts has a great ability and it is debatable he has been our best player this season

Korey Smith

7.5 Korey has some great potential (we all know that) he has tried hard but it hasent worked out for him Matt Gill

N\A He looked decent in a few games last season but is unlikley to make any more apperances (starting) this seasonOwain Tudur-Jones

N\A he wasent great last season and it may sound harsh but i think is is a drain on the wage billSimon Lappin

7.7 The king of Spain has been valuable cover at left back this season has made a few mistakes but has been fairly decent out of positionAnthony McNamee

5.9 he had a great time coming of the bench earlier this season but he has been poor recentlyHenri Lansbury

7.1 Good, young and a talanted footballer. It is a shame he has been injured Wes Hoolahan

8.6 Wesley looked to have his career in doubt here for an odd reason but has singed a new deal and he has deserved it Hoolahan has had another fantastic seasonAndrew Surman

7.5 Of what i have seen of Surman he lookes to be one of our best players. He has a great creative ability but like Lansbury injury has hinderd his Norwich career Grant Holt

9.5 (My Player of the season) For the people who have questioned Grant Holt this season should be ridiculed. He has been one of our key figures this season on how he wins set peices in key areas and he is our top goalscorer. If scoring 3 against Ips***** this season isnt good enougth what is then.Chris Martin

7.9 Has looked fairly decent. He hasent scored so many goals but i feel he can get some real form (in terms of goals) soonSimeon Jackson

7.1 Jackson hasent played so many games and hasent got many goals to his £1Mill Price tag. apart from that i think he has more potential than what he is showing (simular to C.Martin)Aaron Wilbraham

6.5 Aaron has looked okay in the few apperances I have seen him in. thought he was unluckey to score against Cardiff this weekend with that chance he had (not the goal)Oli JohnsonN\A hasent played enougth

Ruddy 7/8 - slightly dodgy to start but pretty solid ever since.

R Martin 8 - was solid last season and has only got better this season, doesn''t always cross it very well but still supports the attack regularly.

Barnett 8/9 - hugely impressive, an excellent defender who is great in the air and one-on-one situations, makes some huge wins.

Ward 7/8 - another impressive new addition to the defence, not quite as sound as Barnettdefensively but puts himself about and tries to play a bit.

Nelson 7/8 - some absolutely towering performances at the back and has proven all those wrong who said he couldn''t handle this league.

Whitbread 7 - looks better after coming back from injury this time round than he did last season, looks a good all round defender but I suspect he''ll have a hard job keeping his place when Ward is fully fit.

Askou 5/6 - hasn''t really featured but looks out of his depth at this level, was very poor against Palace but better in his next appearance.

Drury 7/8 - when he''s fully fit he''s excellent but when coming back from injury (like now) it takes him a few games to get his defensive sharpness and attacking confidence back.

S Smith 5/6 - looks a decent player but too lightweight and doesn''t appear to play with the same committment that you''d expect from Drury or Lappin.

Lappin 7/8 - not the most dynamic player but he''s a sensible on the ball and you know he''ll put a shift in for you and get the ball into the box, better at left back than S Smith too.

K Smith 6/7 - to me he kind of sums up the difference between L1 and the Championship. Last year he could quite easily hold his own in midfield and was a very important player for us but this season he can''t influence the game as much. He''s a great athlete but I think he may lack the football brain to really do the business in this league.

Crofts 7/8 - excellent in the first half of the season for both the way he competed in midfield and supported the attack, not been quite the same player over recent weeks.

Fox 7/8 - probably the opposite to Crofts, didn''t make the best start but has really grown into it in recent weeks. A really good footballer who passes the ball around well. Possibly a bit underrated by some of us on here.

Surman 7 - looks a very classy player, shame about the injuries.

Hoolahan 8/9 - brilliant player, a joy to watch, gets on the ball so much and really doesn''t give it away at all (especially for how much he sees of the ball). Criticism of him giving the ball away lots are both harsh and inaccurate, in my opinion. Very skillful and very hard working.

Holt 8 - hampered by injury/fitness issues at the start of the season but some massive performances since then and he''s proven people wrong who didn''t think he''d do it in this league.

C Martin 7 - I thought he might have done a bit better than he has. You can''t question his ability as a player as the guy is clearly a very good footballer but he I don''t think he always does his natural ability justice.

Jackson 6/7 - needs to sharpen up his game a bit in terms of touch and keeping the ball, not sure if he''s a good fit for our system but perhaps needs more time to adjust and form an understanding with the others.

Wilbraham 6/7 - possibly a bit early to say, not overly impressive to begin with but better against Cardiff.

McNamee 6/7 - unlikely to have enough about him to be a regular first team player but he does have some talent and ability. Thought criticism of him against Orient was a bit OTT. He had a pretty hard job in that game and had very little support, should have done better than he did but at least he kept trying.

Special mention to Lansbury who I hope we keep as he could be the key to making the chances to score that could see us promoted.[/quote]

paulo79 agree with all that but would probaly give nelson a 7 or 8 because when he plays always plays well

John Ruddy - 7 improving all the time

Declan Rudd

Leon Barnett - 8.5 (Doc RIP)

Elliott Ward - 7.5 when on form is very good but..

Michael Nelson 7. - has been very effective

Zak Whitbread - 8. - great future subject to injuries

Jens Berthel Askou

Adam Drury - 8.5. Quality still there

Steven Smith - Dunno

Russell Martin - 8.5. Captaincy potential

David Fox - 8. Like him more with each game. One to watch IMO.

Andrew Crofts - 7.5. Faded a bit after a great start

Korey Smith - 7.5. still young but good

Matt Gill - 7. Useful but lacks games

Owain Tudur-Jones - 6.5. Still think he could make it, though probably won''t if we need to trim the wage bill

Simon Lappin - 8. Roeder never convinced him his future was elsewhere - nor me.

Anthony McNamee - 7. Effective in short bursts

Henri Lansbury - ? (7.5)

Wes Hoolahan - 9.5. Class apart.

Andrew Surman - 8. Looks the part.

Grant Holt - 9. Does a lot more than just score goals

Chris Martin - 8. A goal would help him more than it would Lappin

Simeon Jackson - 7.5. Not convinced his pace is as good as some make out.

Aaron Wilbraham - 7. I saw some calm, quality touches v Cardiff. Unproven as yet

Oli Johnson - Who Knows?

Look at the present squad - and there''s not a Mark Fotheringham amongst ''em.

Pretty much everyone with a 5 is simply due to lack of appearances aside from McNamee who I honestly feel has been our worst player this season.

The 6''s are for very similar reasons but also include injuries or new signings & 7''s are for players doing a good job. The exception to this rule being Chris Martin who started solidly & would have been an 8 but seems to have lost his early season confidence.

8''s are players playing well & 9''s are the leading lights of the team
