hucks@dh6.co.uk 0 Posted August 25, 2010 How can a manager not be at a first team game,a total disrespect of MK Dons, Blackpool have been in top flight for 2 games, would he have done that at Plymouth ?
Ren 75 Posted August 25, 2010 Sadly Darren the League Cup is dead. Personally I think it needs to be scrapped, its becoming an embarrassment to the game.
Canary Man of Kent 0 Posted August 25, 2010 I agree it''s disrespectful, but justice was done in the end, an extra time defeat is the last result he would have wanted!
Old Shuck 291 Posted August 25, 2010 Hucks, the League Cup has long been held in contempt by many a club and Manager, this just illustrates it all the more...Funny how the "big" clubs do their level best not to be interested or committed to it, until, by accident, they find themselves in the final, then its the chance for a bit of a jolly and they then want to win it! Largey 0 Posted August 25, 2010 Thanks Darren. No one is kidding themselves when we say we have a very long way to go to reach the Premier League with this caliber of teams week in, week out, but it''s good to see we did not disgrace ourselves, especially when playing some of our current reserves players from the start. Big Slob 0 Posted August 25, 2010 Despite the changes i thought we held or own at times. We passed it around nicely, and created a few good chances, only 2 excellent saves by Bunn from a Ward header and a Hughes volley kept our score to 1. Thought Ward did brilliantly again, and i thought Mcnamee caused their defence all sorts of problems when he came on. Never seen a team win so many headers in 1 match. Every corner they had they won the resulting header, every long throw in from Pedersen they won the resulting header. Their whole team were giants, and it was obvious they were managed by Allardyce. All 3 goals came from headers or as a result of a header being saved by Rudd, and Diouf following in.

Would make for a much more interesting cup IMO

Suffolk exile 0 Posted August 25, 2010 Trent - spot on! Plus considering the Champioship is something like the 4th best supported league in Europe why the hell not have a Euro spot for the winner? I do know I am living in cloud cooko land here (and that the Euro league is also in real terms a micky mouse competition anyway) but the power held by the Premier league sickens me.
