Looks like Beckford has gone

Recommended Posts

it is a bit early in the window, so not grayson has enough time with his £2m to go out and buy another striker who will get them to the finishe line [:(]

If true it could well be good news for us: no doubt they have a replacement lined up, but a 20-goal-by-January striker is not easy to replace - there''s plenty of decent/succesful players who have struggled on moving to a new club (Billy Sharp immediately springs to mind).

Think this is neutral for us. He could have been destabilising for them if he''d stayed when unhappy, they now have money to spend but they''ve lost a proven goalscorer at this level.

leeds i doubt will get 1million of that 2, they let delph go for 7million and got 750k on players according to some leeds fans with that they still couldnt even afford their own ground back, however were in no position to snigger as today it was said sale and leaseback could be a possibility for carrow raod.

And you could lose a damn could manager that could finish you lower than the playoffs. Losing Beckford wont really affect Leeds that much as they have the best defence in the league and a midfield that provides many chances to the striker. Any Billy Sharps,Hoopers Jamie Ward´s etc will find the net dont worry. Losing a manager mid season isnt good at all and these odds are becoming extremely shorter by the day. I would seriously bet Lambert will be a Burnley manager by the end of Jan. Good managers are hard to come by but I hear Dennis Wise is looking for work!!

Grayson only spent that amount cos he didnt think the squad needed much change, and was proven right. why spend if you dont need to??? He got in Doyle on loan who has held his own this season and if we need to we will more than likely make a bid for Max Gradel who clearly loves it here with a 1m-1.5m striker.

Just cos you have 7m it doesnt mean to say you have to blow the lot. Leeds have lost 1 game this season, game Liverpool a cracking game and beat the champions of England in their own back yard. All on spending 750k!!!  Grayson is a genius and a very good manager.
blah blah blah i support Leeds blah blah blah blah
Frankly mate , your a tool.I can deal with the Colchester lot on here cos a) they have an axe to grind b) they want to develop a rivalry with us which is kinda cute. Your constant dribbling on makes little sense and your about as welcome as a bad fart.So please" leave us alone and donts comes back, precious ! "

I would much rather have a proven striker in the team than someone who may/may not live up to expectations.

Personally I am eagerly awaiting Simon Grayson''s next revolutionary theorm and/or masterpiece of awe-inspiring architectural brilliance.

I hear he''s also the chieftain of the QI elves-  he''s a genius, you know.

Pizza for everyone!

Surely if you have that kind of money to spend spainboy then your manager would have brought a new striker in before Beckford leaves? For a 30 something yr old, your assessment of your own club seems very misguided. Johnson is your next top scorer in the league on 7 less than half of Beckford, and your think he can instantly be replaced - you may have a tight defence but goals win games.

Not a chance. Leeds made over 4m net last season. They have since made around 8m for Delph, increased attendances and much more TV apps including a good cup run. They must have made 6 figures just from the Man Utd game. Norwich are in trouble.Isnt it around 22m loss already.

Hold tight to Hoolahan and Holt cos Ive a feeling they might be put in this window.

Goals do indeed win games. Leeds midfield creates a hell of a lot of them. Wait and see, you will be surprised what proven player Grayson will get in. Dont forget as well becchio has been out and when hedoes play he drops back a lot to leave Beckford up front. Becchio is a great partner for a decent enough goal scorer. Lee Bernard,Hooper,Sharp are just 3 linked options who will score goals and plenty of them in this league and are realistic targets.

Manure had no interest in the cup this year, they gave you the win so as to take care of bigger and better teams and large pieces of silverware
