lurker1 0 Posted July 17, 2009 i only got to go to one game at carrow road last season (quite glad in some ways looking back at it), was the one where they made the eventual champions look like a bunch of part timers from san marino.the one thing i did notice was how quiet the rest of carrow road was apart from the barclay. I used to get to few games a season when i was a kid during the 90s and maybe im not dedicated enough to be making a point about it but i dont remember it being that quiet.i know the barclays always been the loudest part of carrow but the rest of the stadium was like a ghost town apart from a round of applause after a goal. Its not all corporate is it?sing up you miserable bastards [:P]
BobbyLo 0 Posted July 17, 2009 In a way it''s true. I''ve sat in three of the stands and noticed that the Jarrold is ridiculously quiet. I used to sit in there during the prem season when I went with then girlfriends dad. It was pretty dead apart from the game against Everton. Now I sit in the Barclay and it''s always rowdy!! DDD In The Fine City 1 Posted July 17, 2009 Why is it pointless? he has a very valid point, Carrow road is like a morgue compaired to what it used to be, i come up a few times every season the last being against Sheff wed at the tail end of last year, a must win game in our fight against relegation and the crowd were silent, fair enough the game was awful from our point of veiw but the crowd play such a big part in getting the team going and on the day gave nothing. Like it or not part of the reason we were relegated!

All I could hear were the opposing sides chants. The most disheartening games EVER!!!! But, during prem it was the other end entirely and apart from a few rousing choruses of "On the ball city" there was nowt much doing! Yep, I''m saying Barclay end is the place to be if you want atmosphere (lower barclay that is!)
lurker1 0 Posted July 17, 2009 i was sat in the N&P. it was dead. the city stand wasnt much better.i had to check the score board to make sure city werent actually losing 5-2 [:P]i remember as a kid if the other stands were quiet the barclay used to ask them to sing up, i guess its not as easy to get norwich and peterborough into a song as it is river end.this isnt really meant as a dig at anyone by the way, they didnt really give a lot to sing about last year, maybe im just looking back through rose tinted specs
Barclay Kid 0 Posted July 17, 2009 I Usually Sit In The Jarrold Stand, And Much To The Dislike Of Everyone Else It Seems, I Like To SHOUT ALOT!! I Get Quite A Lot Of Disgusted Looks To Be Fair. It Was Dissapointing................Where''s The Team Spirit People? Now I''m Not Sure Where To Sit For Colchester Game!!

ryan1992 0 Posted July 17, 2009 How can you blame our fans for the terrible performances our team put out last year? We have some of the best fans around and people still moan about us. What would our team be like if we had Barnsley''s crowd side every game?

Levi Stubbs 0 Posted July 17, 2009 Too many people there for ''a nice day out'' is''nt there? I think the majority of the crowd are''nt really that bothered what the performances are like or what the results are. They will give a round of applause at half-time and full-time whatever has gone on.Maybe they will get out of their seat if City score (or maybe not...). Nice replica shirts and scarves though... It''s more like a trip to the theatre for ''em than a football match.Sadly large numbers of the more passionate fans that used to populate Carrow Road have drifted away over the last few years,to be replaced by people like those I have described. Its a case of quantity not quality as far as the support of NCFC goes nowadays. Bury Yellow 2 Posted July 17, 2009 I get totally pizzed off when the likes of you Lurker come on here and moan about the crowd. This club has been run like Mrs Miggin''s Pie Shop for years. We have had and still have problems which are debated on here mainly in a sensible and interesting way, then suddenly you pop up. What are you implying? NCFC supporters have a mental problem. Haven''t got a backbone? To blame for where this once proud club find themselves? What is your point? Are you a binner?I go to most away games and the home crowds are no different to us except that their team is usually much more successful than ours! Our away support is magnificent but we really need have to have something encouraging on the pitch. Our crowd is no better or worse than others at home except it''s bigger. The most intriguing thing is, why has it taken you so long to post this observation?Have you just woken from a coma? Even the Lower Barclay was found wanting far too often. When the Barclay had given up even before the shower of sh*te we saw all to often last season, I knew we were in trouble. Now if I was in the City stand, I could almost understand getting strange looks when joining in/starting a song, it''s what we''ve come to expect, but in the Barclay? There''s too many spineless feckers who''d rather whine than support "their" team and there has been since our little Premiership holiday. The sooner they decide they''d rather watch Man Utd down the pub of a Saturday afternoon the better imo.

Ian 1,211 Posted July 18, 2009
Not to me he doesn''t, how many games were you at last season and where do you sit?
Agree with you to some extent - I sat in the Upper Barclay last season and the atmosphere was a bit embarassing. Apart from the occasional shout of "Get rid of it Doherty" from the woman behind me, and the absolute t**t in front of me who would go absolutely insane if Marshall didn''t throw the ball out to the mentally slow and well-marked Otsemobor, there was very little singing at all, except for OTBC.To be fair, this was probably down to the shocking football on the pitch a lot of the time. But FFS, it''s SCRIMMAGE not SCRUMMAGE!

Whatever the case, at least 75% of Carra Rud dunt sing. That''s the long and short of it.

andy 1974 0 Posted July 18, 2009 totally agreed DDD,when you have got over 20 thousand people on your back after your first mis-placed pace, for the rest of the game, doesnt exactly inspire confidence.once the boo boys start, there becomes a problem which doesnt just affect the individual but the team.
