Interviews set to begin on Monday

From the EDP tonight:

"Norwich City look set to begin interviewing candidates for the vacant managerial position on Monday.

The club''s directors were expected to have a shortlist in place by Friday afternoon, the first stage in a process which they plan to have completed before City''s home game against Southampton on January 27."

So whoever the new man is, they''re not going to get long to do anything in the transfer window are they!? Which, I suppose, is all very convenient given our lack of funds. More loans it is then. Great.

Would not be too pleased if a manager was appointed without at least being interviewed once. Anyway, Delia isn''t even on the interview panel, well she wasn''t for Glenn Roeder.

Great.[/quote]I think that a fair few people are going to see it this way.Yet again as a club we are fumbling around dark hoping we will stumble upon the solution.  This club has not made a positive, proactive decision that has taken the club forward since signing Huckerby in 2003 and even then Worthington had to run to the press to make it happen.  Ever since then every thing they have done has been in reaction to situations and has been too little too late.  Waiting to sign Ashton or similar player until January in the Premier League, the club dressed that up by saying they "were waiting to know how much Sky money" they were getting.  We later went on to make a big profit (for us) so money could never have been that tight that we had to wait to find out whether we had an extra game on sky or not.  There are also the "close but no cigar" final day of the window bids  that never happened in which we are told Doncaster is driving up and down the country only for the player to go somewhere else.  Hello?  Telephone, Emails faxes!  It is also telling that we always need to have a busy January because in general, we have not done what we should have in the summer.I could go on but it''s too depressing.  I suppose I should just wait another a week or more before they wheel out the next loser and watch us fumble around some more.

I suppose the new man will also have access to out-of-contract players in the Carl Cort mode. So that''s another great positive about not appointing until the transfer window is about to slam down!

Notice the feature on sky sports with Doncaster stating interviews start Monday, on that basis the critismn of the Worthy incident would seem unfair as how I read it they were covering all options with what they believe to be the best people for the job. What''s more concerning is how it''s come out, as how I read it Norwich made an approach to the NI FA who subsequently denied our approach. This is fair enough, but it shouldn''t have got into the public domain.

As for Worthy, why make any comment?

For me it has to be Boothroyd and Malky.

Well we have 10 days before the Soton game and 2 weeks till the window closes. If I was Boothroyd, Dowie or Ince then I would be giving consideration to who I might be able to get in ahead of the interview and (hopefully) getting the job. The new manager is obviously going to find out what funds are available for his free transfers!! If an appointment is made by say Wednesday the new manager will have 10 days to get bodies in the door - I think with finances as they are that we may have another cross border raid into Scotland on the way!

I have got my interview at 9.20 am for the role of manager at Norwich. I''m in the appointment after Paul Ince so I plan to wow the Delia and Simon Cowell with the following:

1. A fine rendition of Cameo''s Word Up sung in the style of a Catholic choir boy.

2. A fine rendition of Cameo''s Word Up sung in the style of Tina Turner.

3. 1 and 2 should suffice.

Bish, bosh, bash. The jobs mine to lose.

inter-fudgin-views!!! what is the point???surely, the board must know we need 3 experienced players in to give us a fighting chance of avoiding the drop, and that a sensible budget be put aside to acheive this...they should then pick their manager,,,get donny to ring him up and hardball him on the salary and his backroom staff budget...then get the tool here by monday am - stick one of mumby''s old fag packets into his grubby paws,,,with his playing budget on the back and an instruction to get an experienced CB, RB and CF into the club pdq...everything else is BS...as in - whats your ambition for the club??? - answer - to get NCFC promoted into the prem (ahem) cough...the interviewee isn''t likely to say - get us relegated on this s**t playing budget is he!!![8-)]
