Disco Dale 0 Posted August 17, 2008 Before I get the usual "get over it " rammed down my throat for having an opinion I am just seeking clarification on when we are allowed to say his name.It got me thinking about when Hucks starts using his south stand season ticket in November, are we allowed to sing his name then ? or will we (and him)get booed?.Because using the logic of the ungrateful that just saying his name puts too much "pressure" on the current players should he be banned from the ground?. This is becoming like the fawlty towers episode "dont mention the war (Hucks)".With Roeder playing Manuel.
Badger 0 Posted August 17, 2008 I am a massive fan of Huckeby and hate the fact that he was let go. However, I am sure that he would be mortified if we started singing his name in a game when he was there (although, I have to admit I have never actually spoken to him). Bird Table 0 Posted August 18, 2008 Darren who? According to most people on here, that player never actually played for Norwich. In fact, there has never been any player called Darren Huckerby.
norfolkbroadslim 225 Posted August 18, 2008 As huckerby loves us so much, he should offer to play for us for free in the off season.[:O]

I''m certainly never going to forget what he did for our club; he is a true legend. But if you are going to chant his name during games as a way of unsettling the players we have (specifically Hoolahan) here then you are a counter productive idiot in my opinion. Quite simple, it''s not rocket science ffs! By all means, I think he should get a great reception before the game when he shows up - that could even be an inspiration to our current players - but do you honestly think that the man himself would want to hear his name being used to generate an unpleasant atmosphere?! Is that really so complicated?
Mister Chops 7 Posted August 18, 2008
Before I get the usual "get over it " rammed down my throat for having an opinion I am just seeking clarification on when we are allowed to say his name.
Quit being so passive-aggressive, it''s highly annoying. You can say his name whenever you want, he was a City Legend and fantastic player up until 2006-7.But now he has gone, and by bringing up players who have left you don''t do the current lot any favours. And if you start singing that ridiculous song at the matches, during play, I will tell you loudly to get over it, he''s gone. He probably won''t be too thrilled if he hears about his name being sung even though he isn''t there.Giving him a big welcome back the first time he takes his seat in the Jarrold before the game starts is fine. That''s as far as it should go imo. Anything more would be embarrassing for him.

No, they don''t. The problem with the singing on Sat was that it''s too early and for all the wrong reasons.

Matt Morriss 69 Posted August 18, 2008 Some idiot sat in front me of me started arguing with me the second i mentioned Hucks name.My point was that with Hucks i think we''d have done much better, we lacked directness and that cutting edge up front on saturday. Shaun Tilly Lace 0 Posted August 18, 2008 Hucks could always attend games wearing a gorilla mask or something I suppose!
tribes 0 Posted August 18, 2008 I will write about Hucks on messageboards and watch San Jose matches. However, I will not be singing his name at NCFC matches. If our club are doing badly when he returns in November then many will be. GR will no doubt expect this to happen for obvious reasons.
