kick it off 2,062 Posted February 18, 2008 I personally feel that many City fans are letting themselves and the club down at the moment. It saddens me greatly as whilst I will always be proud to be a City fan, I have never had cause to feel ashamed of our supporters before, but with the completely ridiculous vitriol being spouted at Roeder - the petition after he has done such a great job - The actions of some fans on Saturday - The arrogance that some fans have taken on, a "Newcastle" attitude - The hatred towards players who have played 58minutes in a City shirt - The hypocrisy of blaming Glenn for not picking Huckerby when if he does, then other players will lose respect for him if, as suspected, Hucks has been throwing his toys out the pram as usual - The attitudes of some fans is disgusting at the moment. If we win we are going up and Glenn has done a great job. We lose ONE GAME and we are relegation fodder and Glenn is the worst manager for years.I have news for you. Glenn is by far the best person we could have hoped for. If he leaves our club, and I wouldn''t blame him if he did as the way fans are treating the man who has saved our club from league on is a total and utter disgrace, but if he were to leave, who do you think will come in? Will it be someone better than Roeder? I honestly don''t know, none of us do, but I think we would be very hard pressed to find a better manager, and i would suggest we would probably end up with someone far worse. Before anyone says it, I do not think Roeder is above criticism, but i think critcising him for not playing a player who we all accept is past it, and has performed dreadfully when he has played this season for the most part, purely for the sake of sentiment is ludicrous. If Hucks was in the team and playing as badly as he has this season, then you would all be having a go at Roeder for playing him for sentiments sake. We all said when Huckerby was in the starting eleven every week, that he wasn''t good enough and he was past it. That was less than 6months ago, what do you think has changed? Roeder has come in, an objective outsider to an extent, and Huckerby hasn''t done enough to impress him.I can honestly say hand on heart, I would not start Huckerby. He would however be in my 16, but he would not be starting because he is not good enough.Even other fans are coming on here and writing blogs about how petulant and pathetic many posters are being. (Mr Chops this is not aimed at you, as although you were named, i did not think your comments were particularly typical of the crap people are writing). I have been a City fan for nearly twenty years usually managing between 6 and 10games a season despite living 180miles away, and I have never seen any trouble and I don''t remember any ever being reported in the press. Now suddenly we have a hooligan element amongst us, which I certainly didn''t realise existed in my club, however naive that may have been. It is a sad day for the club and all fans who do not have some sort of kneejerk reaction disorder combined with some sort of hate disfunction where they can nothing but negative things.Even other fans are noticing us for what we are at the moment. No better than Wolves or Newcastle fans. I hope people come to their senses soon, before we end up with a manager and players that the current attitudes deserve, I''m not sure of the lowest level of football, but I think we would be towards the bottom end of that.Lest we forget why we didn''t expect to get beaten 4-0 by Leicester, the actions of a certain Mr Roeder. Without whom we would have been expecting that sort of result as that is what we would have been achieving on our way to the 20 point gap between us and 23rd we would currently have. Made up"Fans have even set up petitionsto try and get the former Newcastle manager sacked, with the finalstraw coming on Saturday as his side were thumped 4-0 by LeicesterCity, a side six places below them in the league." - A joke, pretty obvious (if you didn''t know click the link...)"a cross section of them have been particularly cruel to young Kieran, almost as if they are looking for a scape goat for their poor season." - Again made up. NOBODY booed Gibbs on tuesday. Nobody. He had a bad performance but nobody derided him. Nobody is looking at him as scape goat for us not playing well at the start of the season. Infact that doesn''t even make any sense. What a silly remark.Thank you.

kick it off 2,062 Posted February 18, 2008 "under fire" manager is a fabrication? Really? I''d say he is very much under fire at the moment. Try reading this very forum and some of the hatred directed Roeder''s way - a step beyond criticism in the most part.Petition thing - Fair point - I was done by this though!! Fact that I didn''t bother to click the petition link and believed it was viable that someone would post this surely says something (apart from i am a gullible muppet!) about fans attitudes recently?I would say particularly cruel is a fair turn of phrase considering the scapegoating that was aimed at him. There is a lot of anger and abuse aimed at a kid who played pretty much his first 60minutes of professional football ever, in a game where the ball was played exclusively down the other flank due to reasons beyond Gibbs'' control. (Or did he manage to select a striker at Leftback for Hull in order not to get the ball in an elaborate attempt to avoid having a decent game for reasons best known to himself - but definitely part of the Roeder/Delia conspiracy to destroy Norwich?!) He was used as a scapegoat for a poor team performance at Hull, and as a scapegoat against having young loanees here. Everybody conveniently forgetting about Ched..... That is fair comment from the Arsenal guy.

ricky knight 0 Posted February 19, 2008 Norwich is like any other club, we have pro manager, anti manager, pro board, anti board, and yes we even have hooligans, shock horror. The thing we have also is the pro police that if anyone dares to say anything against the club, we are all binners, traitors bad supporters, so on so on. Get over it guys not everyone sees city through tinted specs but we all, both sides have the club at heart.
