if you think he has come on so far he must have been bloody useless at man city, wow he had one good game, and all of a sudden he is a world beater, you will be compring him to ronaldo next!!

he can''t cross a ball, so he obviously ain''t that good if he can''t do the basics right, chadwick all the way

If you went to games you may be in a better position to comment.
Sam, i wonder, did you go today? Have you been all season? he hasnt just had one good game has he. He''s steadily been getting better and better the last 2months since Roeder''s been playing him regular. But i guess you werent aware of that were you, having probably not seen him since last season.Man Of The Match today, and i will start comparing him to Ronaldo, he''s a poor mans Ronaldo, the Championships version of Ronaldo.....and he looks like Ronaldo...the ice cream seller in the city centre....

Dont know about Ronaldo, but he has provided some exciting stuff over his time with us...and works particularly well with Jon Otsemobor.

I was in the River End today and saw the linesman''s flag go up very early for his dissallowed goal well before it hit the back of the net, but from my position couldn''t tell whether the linesman was right or not (of course he wasn''t I hear you all say)....all I can say was that Crofty took the shot superbly, which was all the more frustrating when late in the 2nd half he toook a pass which I felt he should have volleyed straight at  goal but controlled with his first touch then lost the shot, blocked by defenders...does he need a bit more confidence to take more shots at goal or is he just one-footed and just happened to get that late opportunity on his wrong side?

very good comment barclay man, iv always rated croft as a player and a profestional, gives 100% every game, and he gets the ball in the box more times than not, surely a good thing as hes a right winger? pity he cant score a few more goal but what an excelent finish today i must say. how ever the one bad thing came out of the match today was that the game was played all down the right hand side, nice to see them strech them a bit more, mo wasnt he usual solid self today

he sed in his interview after the game that there banging the goals in on the training matches etc but he can''t understand why noone can convert them onto the pitch and admits he''s probably the worst culprit.

Surely you would be in no position to judge if he was offside or not, if you were right behind the goal???

Have always rated Crofty, the good signs were there from day one, although he was overweight and unfit, but in short bursts he had that special something.  Now with GR giving him the chances to play he is showing what he''s really made of.

The problem isnt that Croft cant cross a good ball, he can, its just there''s never anyone on the end of it so it doesnt stick in your mind, Dions always too slow to get there and we''ve got no one else to header crosses and score.Crofty is superb, ive never understood the stick he''s got. We didnt win today cause we didnt have the same impact from the left, cant believe Pattison didnt come on, Bertrand was average i thought, and Mo was off. With Hucks comin off the bench on the left wing we''d have won, even tho he clearly isnt 100% fit, he''s still a threat, despite what people have been saying about him.Incidentally on Hucks, he has a hip injury that he''s been carrying since pre season, needs to see a specialist, for all those people who have been saying he''s finished.

----------------------------------------------------------

Well thats obvious:

a) He''s been struggling to perform for 90 minutes. Average in the first half at Barnsley but very good in the second.  Superb in the first half yesterday but no so hot during the second half.

b) I think his crossing has got better during the last two games but it has been wanting for most of his time at NCFC.

c) Shooting - couldn''t believe how he managed to hit the OUTSIDE of the post at Barnsley.

However he is getting better....makes me wonder if he is getting some 1 to 1 coaching.  May be some chants of encouragement from the stands would help.

Crofty is playing his best football for us so far, he now seems fit and able to play 90mins and is more confident taking players on. I still think his finnishing is a weakness, despite the OS? goal he put away yesterday. I can still remeber sitting behind the goal at Stanford Bridge, he seems more able to hit the woodwork than the hole inside. His finnishing will definitately improve IMO and when it does he will be a real threat for us.

alright, i will be honest, i didn''t go yesterday nor do i go this season, i have been twice and that was enough for me, before i gave up my season ticket i had been going to norwich for about 4-5 years and i have seen 3 players better then him on the right wing

1. Rivers

2. Mcveigh (in his time, not towards the end lol)

3. Chadwick

personally i don''t rate him and never will, i think for a WINGER he is overweight, he can''t cross the ball, his finishing when in frony of goal is very poor, he has missed so many sitters in his time here and how many goals has he scored in how many games???
Canary NutCould you be anymore over critical of Lee Croft? At Barnsley the whole team was average, so of course Croft would be. As have the team for most of the season, you might notice when the whole team plays well, so does Lee Croft, ive never seen us on top of a game with everyone playing well, and Crofty''s having a poor one.I think your wrong re: his crossing, he gets plenty of balls into the box in dangerous areas, its just theres never enough bodies in there to take advantage. And shooting? The guys not a striker, true he should be hitting the target as a pro footballer, but we cant all be Ronaldo, his job is to get the down the wing and create, i dont care if he never scores again if he plays like he did against Leicester.

lol each fan is within their rights to have opinions, however, I think those that do see Crofty play each week can sum up better than someone that hasn''t gone regularly this season.

Ok so you don''t rate him, based on what?  As you have stated you''ve been once or twice this season.

I really think that you need to see him play, actually in person and not over the radio, before you pass such huge comments like he''s overweight, his finishing in front of goal is very poor, and he has missed many sitters.

He''s a good player, he has potential, and most fans are now getting to see that slowly (those that do actually go to the games) I mean.

AFAIK he is a winger and not a striker, and is not expected to score goals each game. [:)]

He should be scoring 10 - 12 goals a season at this level to be considered a very good player and his descision making needs to improve.

Maybe, just maybe Roeder will polish up this rough diamond.

His recent uplift in performance makes me wonder if he''s getting some 1 to 1 coaching and encoruagement and we''re seeing the outcome.

Lets face it, he can plan at this level & in this team. That may be damning with faint praise but that is more than can be said for a number of others that are in the squad (pick your own suspects). If he could score 10-12 goals a season he would be a £1 million+ winger but that is not going to happen. He is a bit old to keep talking about potential and probably won''t get a game if Glenn brings in 4-5 players over the next 12 months

If our strikers can''t even manage that what chance has a winger got?

He doesn''t need to score that many goals, just to keep his current form up more consistently.
