Road to Nowhere 0 Posted November 9, 2007 What result would you realistically be happy with from tomorrow''s game? We haven''t won against Plymouth at Home Park in 44 years and got convincingly beaten last year (with the Doc scoring a cracker past Gallacher). Added to that, we haven''t won for ten games, are bottom of the league and generally give oppositon teams a good 2-0 headstart. As always I am desperate to see Norwich win but I would take a draw tomorrow. My concern is that this isn''t good enough anymore particularly as you cant differentiate between our home and away performances at the moment.
Citizen Journalist Foghorn 0 Posted November 9, 2007 acceptable - a draw, but we have to start winning sometime soon...
blahblahblah 2 Posted November 9, 2007 Agreed, a draw would be a good result and to an extent would show progress from the end of the previous regime. It might also get the players believing that they can beat Coventry at home.

25overpar 0 Posted November 9, 2007 Can''t realistically see anything but a loss. No Hucks, no Dublin, no proper left back and no new additions to the squad. Don''t think we can expect any improvement over what we have seen already untill we get better players in. Roeder has made a difference, but we are so far short of what we need even a draw would be a miracle. Sorry, it hurts to say it but I think we all know it''s true. But we live in hope!........................Don''t we?

It''s becoming increasingly to late to get out of this rut/situation. To lose or draw against teams like Plymouth [no mugs but beatable] is going to get us nowhere imo. Mello Yello 2,588 Posted November 9, 2007 A victory, however small........[:(]We''ve gone 11 games without a victory - and another damning defeat and possible wins - or at least point for our ''fellow'' stragglers at the bottom........Then we are more deeper in the poop - than us doing headstands, in a ''colonic irrigation clinic''s cesspit''.[:(][N]

The thread title asks about what is an acceptable result, not how optimistic are you. I think a draw tomorrow is acceptable in my opinion, considering how difficult they are to beat at Home Park.Badly need a win though!!

Cluck 0 Posted November 10, 2007 If the teams around us win...anything short of three points would definately spell pending disaster. Rarely does a club so far adrift so early make it back....Hard to imagine us in a lower league as it has never happened in my 44 years as a supporter.... but we''ve become "little old Norwich" and "little old teams" usually belong in "little old leagues". Unlucky Fried Kitten 0 Posted November 10, 2007 If we wish to stay in the Championship, then the only acceptable result is a win. The rot has to stop somewhere, and for me it is imperative to gain victory at Home Park or we are going down. A draw is not good enough as we are becoming isolated at the bottom of the table now. Ivana_rubyatitz 6 Posted November 10, 2007 A point might be acceptable if we start picking up wins at home but that is a big "if" on present form.Plymouth''s home record is not exactly awesome - 2 wins, but 4 draws and 1 defeat, scored 7 and conceded 6. Mind you that is still a damn bit better than ours [:(] Perhaps a low scoring draw, but realistically we need a win to avoid falling too far adrift of the teams above us.
