I doubt he'll start but I wouldn't be surprised if he's on the bench given our injury situation right now.

Swap Sam for Dimi and I'll agree.

There's 9 spaces on the bench so add Welch and Lima to your list.

Is Danny Batth unavailable too? Nothing mentioned in presser. I guess the three young 'uns are competing for 2 spaces on the bench. Possibly there is another doubt, and all 3 will be named.

I get the impression that youngsters need to be seen to be extra special in order to achieve anything but a bit-part in Wagner's selections and substitutions. He certainly doesn't have the faith in them that Farke did, that's for sure, and seems to prefer tinkering around with the positioning of his established players than using them and comes up with some bizarre reasoning such as even suggesting Gibbs for the striker role.

The only real exception was young Springett who, imo, was insufficiently ready for the  starting spot he was once (?) given and often made little impact during the many times he was a preferred sub. Fortunately, Knapper realised that the boy had sufficient to benefit from a loan.

Idah was different in this respect, as he wanted away for reasons that are well known.

Rowe made an instant statement, of course, but you needed to be blind not to recognise his promise, and I suppose Fisher has been used appropriately, although with a degree of caution.

We may find out more today, but I doubt it.

We have also an ample stable of young goalkeepers, all with good revues (especially Reyes,) but he went for the generally unimpressive Long.

In defence has become a crucial stage of the season where every point is a prisoner, so it becomes harder to trust other than the experienced performers.

In defence of Wagner this is probably the biggest week of the season and biggest games of the year. His job and his assistants depend on getting us into the playoffs. I think it’s a fair decision not to hand someone(s) there first team debuts in that situation.

I suspect Adoh will be on the bench. The other two will be on standby in case someone gets injured in training on Friday or the warmup.

Unless multiple goalkeepers are named on the bench, at least 2 of the 3 (or possibly others from the u21s) will be included. Captain Pants missed Batth on the bench with his  team pick. That, though, still leaves space for, at least Aboh + another. Maybe more spaces if there are any late knocks.

If there are two goalies on the bench it’s Wagner sending a message to Knapper and the board. Basically saying thanks for nothing in January if we miss out on promotion it’s your fault not mine.

Rubbish. You have absolutely no evidence to back that ludicrous claim. The suggestion is that there is such a break down between Wagner and the board Wagner has to send bizarre coded messages via the subs bench. Wagner would have been fully involved in discussions and agreements during Jan window, and would have had his views heard. Perhaps the team sheet could have a hidden message written it on in invisible ink.  Ot if you play On the Ball City Backwards it says 'David is dead'.

Two goalies on the bench would be a bit bizarre given we are at home and have the whole club squads to pick from.

Two goalies on the bench is standard signal by a manager to the board saying “reinforcements please”

Please can you stop with this nonsense.

It's been explained over and over again.

On both occasions where we had two goalies on the bench it was because an outfield player who was originally named in the match day squad had to pull out injured at the last moment. Since a third goalkeeper always travels with the squad as its a specialist position the third goalie had to sit on the bench.
