The Oliver Skipp article on the Pink Un site today regarding his new Spurs contract makes no mention of wages. The Times ran the story saying that he'll be on £70,000 a week, around four times what he's on now.

How true this is who knows but we really are in a different League when it comes to money

He's a Spurs first team player.

When fit he starts, for Conte - a world class manager.

You wouldn't expect Norwich to have afforded that player in the 80's. 90s. 00s. or today.

We've had success signing Spurs rejects in the past, like Paul McVeigh and Ian Crook.

Skipp isn't a Spurs reject, he's a Spurs first team player. He'll become an England regular in no time.

If what you say is true, what's more ridiculous is that he's currently only earning £17,500 per week. That's almost mid level championship wages. That's less than a million a year before tax for a first team starter at a top club, Spurs are skinflints.

To be fair, reports saying we'll be paying Pukki ~50k/week (Most likely) in the championship next season.  So it's not all that wild, particularly when you consider that Skipp would have a price tag 4x that of Pukki, if not more.  Plus very much likely to feature in the England setup.

Funny. I am aware he's in top 1-2% or so of earners. I live off of an amount annually that's less than half his current weekly salary, doesn't change the fact it's a very lowball wage for the premier league.

But he wasn’t a first team starter before this season? Spurs have rewarded him with a new contract based on his performances, why would they be paying a young player who’s only made it at Championship level before this season more?

17,500 is incredibly generous for a kid who just had potential when he signed that contract.

£70k is even more extraordinary bearing in mind that he failed to make the team for several games before he was injured. Looking at the Spurs team at the moment it's hard to see how he will get a game

Who cares tbh? He’s not our player and hasn’t been for ages, so this is irrelevant to us! Why not tell us what players who left ten years ago are doing now ffs? Oh they already do that on this app!

To think that’s what we pay for is ludicrous, can’t the Pink Un do stories of more relevance to us and now for a change!

Well that at least ends the stuff people were talking about before with some suggesting Skipp was on double his current salary whilst on loan to us and we were paying it all...
