Daniel Farke anyone?

Got shot down a few times when I posted that sacking Farke was wrong in my humble opinion👍 And although any manager we have would struggle without major investment Farke would've have come good given that backing and patience from us! And we had a manager who had an identity, playing style and it was, a majority of the time, a pleasing watch. Trouble is nowadays everything had to be now now now!!! We as a club can't do that at the moment. And now the honeymoon period is over Smith has proved that the manager isn't the problem because he's done worse than Farke. Would Farke have built on that win at Brentford???...Who knows but I'd have liked to have found out.

Agree with this totally. Smith has made a good effort to get us more organised and efficient, but really it isn't working for the same reason it wasn't working for Daniel, so in that way - there was not a lot of point in changing. We rolled the dice and we are no better off.

It's not over this season yet, because anything can still happen - like beating Chelsea for instance - it is not out of the question we can still pick up some results to give is an interesting end to the season.

Is there enough money in the petty cash to charter a direct flight from Bodo Glimt? Fairly sure aeroplanes can travel that far north in March.

Only if we sack Webber first.

Neil Adams with Daniel Farke anybody?

Absolutly. Cannot see what Deano has bought us.

Does it matter? With our current recruitment "strategy", even Pep would struggle.

We sell our best players even when getting promoted. I dread to think who will be rolling out for us next season.

To be fair, Webber didn’t just sell our best players. Buendia wanted out. Cantwell wanted out. Skipp was on loan.

Here we are.

The tragedy is the mismanagement of Cantwell to allow such a high value asset (at the time) go to absolute waist. Makes the Buendia sale only half as good.

Yes.

Not the only one thinking this right now,

Teams selection awful, why would you pick Gilmour? Squad, simply appalling, nowhere near good enough for Premier League.

If the squad is "simply appalling, nowhere near good enough for Premier League" then how is that Smith or Shakey's fault. Ok he could have done things differently but would it have made any difference?

The board obviously decided this season wasn't worth salvaging as we made no signings in January, again that isn't Smith's fault, i'm just astounded that knowing this he took the job.

That was the excuse, yes. Fundamentally though, Buendia was under contract. They made a decision to sell.

And no one could have managed Cantwell this season. He decided he wanted to go and effectively downed tools.

Or maybe the lad just isn’t that good when Buendia isn’t slotting in perfect through balls for him? You take away the beating heart of the team, everyone suffers.

Absolutely this, there is no doubt that having Buendia in the side rose everyones game. Not only because he was a star player, but because they knew that he'd create chances to win matches. It could be 0-0 in the 90th minute and I'd bet Pukki would still be thinking he would get a chance to score. How's it going now? I said at the time the money for Buendia wasn't enough, it certainly cost us any chance of survival (although I think even with Buendia in this team, defensively we are too poor to have survived anyway).

Farke was the idiot who conceived the ridiculous new 343 system when the previous seasons we we're a success at 4231.  We do not have the midfield to play 343, midfielders who fail to sheild the defence or create goals.  Smith needs to recognise that the midfield he constantly puts out are so ineffective and for this he should go.  Financially we will be unable to rectify the situation so anyone taking the risk of managing Delia's toy will be ineffectual.

Next season will lead to even more disconcern on here.

Farke or not, if we go down Smith needs to be fired the second its confirmed so we can get someone else in who can build a legacy.
