When and why did the back of the South Stand change colour?

Recommended Posts

I've been making the most of the lockdown by building the 3D BRXLZ model of Carrow Road with my young son.  It's been slow progress at times, but we finished it this morning.  From time to time I looked at photos online of the real ground and I did make a few small changes where I felt I could do better than the instructions, but I digress.

What I did notice however was that the back of the South Stand in the Jarrold sponsorship days had a central section that was dark grey (like the model), but more recently the whole stand has been the lighter colour.  I can't imagine the club would have replaced the cladding for the fun of it, so it made me wonder if it was at all linked with the Grenfell Tower fire?  I can find online that a lot of cladding was replaced on the new flats behind the River End due to fire concerns, but nothing about Carrow Road.  I just wondered if anyone had any details?  It could just be that the Jarrold signage left a mess when it came off and they decided replacing the cladding to match the rest of the stand would look better.

Maybe it was changed after The Galway Roast advertising went up and then down quicker than a whores drawers.

Didn't they make the back of the ground the front a few years back or am I imagining that? Maybe it was changed then.

Hey I see someone looking for instructions for this on reddit earlier

Can you remember if there's a lot of pages to put it online for someone else?  I tried searching online and it seems that there's no pdf for people that have lost theirs, so apologies for digging up an old thread! 🙂

Just checked and there are 60 pages!

Too much mate, sorry, thought I'd ask the question.  I see there's someone else replied on reddit now, so hopefully they'll sort them out. 👍
