What are you now thinking about his spineless approach to ULEZ? People are generally misguided on this, it only affects old cars, Chelsea tractors, high performance vehicles and big vans/lorries. I regularly drive my 7-seater diesel Combo Life van in ULEZ areas; it doesn't meet the threshold. If that isn't then the vast majority of cars won't either. But who lives in Uxbridge? And what do they drive? It's the wealthy Range Rover drivers up in arms about it, the high performance sports car owners, etc. These are the people Starmer is now proposing pandering to. Yes, some poor people with N reg Cavaliers might get caught up in it, but frankly the sooner those cars are off the road the better. But Starmer is so terrified of upsetting hoity toity residents of places like Uxbridge that he'll let kids in school playgrounds breath in dangerous levels of CO2. He won't be able to do anything if he doesn't get elected. With a two party system, it's not really about policies anyway. It's just about convincing enough people you're less unfit to govern than the other lot.
Barbe bleu 829 Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) 1 hour ago, Herman said: No you idiot; "....urgently bring forward proposals to widen the scope and levels of these charges..." Grant Shapps. (And btw, your boy Bozo introduced them in the first place.) You keep on doing it, can you not see it? The letter you refer to was written in 2020 and demanded the 2021 enlargement. It's now 2023 and Khan is looking to expand again. As far as I know there wasn't a 2022 letter demanding this second expansion. I'm happy to be corrected. Now i didnt really want this to get party politcal or tribal because i dont really care who writes a good or bad policy, as long as the former happens and the latter doesnt but, yes, I know the ulez was a boris policy, I supported the first iteration (the bit boris delivered) I accepted the second (the bit boris proposed and Khan delivered)as I could seem the benefits likely outweighed the costs. I dont accept this expansion, the third iteration (the bit that Khan proposed) is appropriate. To be clear, I'm talking about the currently proposed expansion of the ULEZ. I am not talking about the ULEZ in general (though given free option I'd probably keep the bits now in existence) Edited August 2, 2023 by Barbe bleu

In a reply to him in a previous post I stated that Boris's ULEZ proposal covered just 8 square miles, whereas Khan introduced ULEZ in 2019 and his proposal covers 600 square miles.. As per Herman completely ignored it and even went on to argue with you who has also stated factual information. Anyhow, time for more Labour comedy -- The chap dressed as a zombie (Alistair Strathern) in the following video is standing as Labour’s candidate in Mid Bedfordshire: God help us. KiwiScot 1,459 Posted August 9, 2023 (edited) There's a distinct sense the press and public have got used to Labour goverment being the next goverment and now treat them(while still in opposition) as the actual goverment and holding them to account. Hence the increasing attacks from all sides on Sir Kier and the Labour party especially from the "True" Labour people which people like Hooky will use to beat them with as well. The election has already started and it feels truely ****ed up. Don't think I can recall a potential election where the leaders of both parties lead such a fractious party with the same said for their voters.
