AJ 1,359 Posted January 25, 2019 Feel really sorry for Thompson, poor guy just can't catch some good luck. Hopefully next season he can make an impact or I fear his chances here will be all but over
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted January 25, 2019 Shame for them both. However the two of them seem to have a great attitude which serves them well. Louis signed for 4 years a couple months ago so hopefully he'll be back next season and beyond.
Van wink 2,994 Posted January 25, 2019 Some players don’t get any luck.😟 Good news that Buendia is fit, just to lighten the mood.
Woodman 92 Posted January 25, 2019 Yes, VW, plus Klose, Tettey and Leitner likely to be fit and available for Ipswich. Farke mentioned cover for wide areas in the press conference, plus of course Morris and Thompson are homegrown, so we're down to the bare bones on those numbers now. I can see Aston Oxborough featuring more regularly on the bench.
Branston Pickle 4,150 Posted January 25, 2019 Horrid news for Carlton and Louis, but news on the out-and-out first teamers was much better, sounds like we should be back to full strength for the Ippo game. Can’t help but think we might need to bring someone in if only to cope with the homegrown rule unless there’s someone in the u-18/23s to step-up.
ricardo 8,034 Posted January 25, 2019 Young Thompson has had a careers worth of bad luck already. Hope it changes for him soon.
CANARYKING 708 Posted January 25, 2019 Apparently looking to bring in a wide man, possibly on loan, any names come to mind ?
Woodman 92 Posted January 25, 2019 Oh, and no option of recalling Marshall - DF made it clear again that he wanted to move.
Branston Pickle 4,150 Posted January 25, 2019 (edited) That guy West Brom had was pretty good if we’re looking at a loan! There must be a couple of PL possibles but the issue is them getting game-time. Edited January 25, 2019 by Branston Pickle
It's Character Forming 1,204 Posted January 25, 2019 Bad news. Shame Leitner not back for the Leeds game, the derby wouldn't be ideal for him to return !

hogesar 10,763 Posted January 25, 2019 Shame for both but in particular Thompson - he seems to have enough to be a regular at this level but the long periods of not playing is going to catch up and effect his development.

Wonder if Roland Aarons (Max’s cousin) is someone the club might look at - was on loan in the Czech Republic until December. Other than that Wilcock at Arsenal could be good, Emile Smith-Rowe would be brilliant, although probably a bit of a reach. Curtis Jones at Liverpool could be a possibility. Ian Povenda would be a good addition, but probably hard to get out of Man City, even on loan. There will be many more around I’m sure, those are the players that came to mind first. Clubs are a bit more relaxed about loan deals in January so some guys who weren’t available in the summer might be now. Norwich were really interested in Woodburn in the summer and he is available again after leaving Sheff U. He’s not really a wide player, but then neither is Cantwell. splendidrush 720 Posted January 25, 2019 Tragic for Thompson, if we're promoted it's unlikely that he will get his chance here, by the time he's up to speed, we will have made other choices. As for Morris, he might need to go out on loan again to get games, another one who's had no luck.
