Surfer 1,547 Posted January 27, 2021 Indeed. The problem is that Trump is only the obvious symptom of the disease, the underling problem is that the Republican Party is the diseased. He didn't get elected to being against Republican values, he got elected for espouse them. Sure the party leaders would like a less visible leader but it is who they are, it's been true for the past 20 years and it's getting worse every election cycle. In the 19850's the Whig Party split into the "no nothing" American Party and the Republican Party, with the latter prevailing. The reason for this is we have to draw a line under the past and move on to deal with the future. Looking at many of the previous posts, if what people are saying comes to fruition then the US, and in part the West, will drag itself down into chaos just in order to win an argument. The election in November was the way we win arguments and we have to respect that is the way we do business. The process may have flaws and it is better that time is spent on fixing flaws in the system instead of trying to kill of the protagonists. All that will happen if we go down this route is create more protagonists. So America is yours Joe Biden and the best thing you can do right now is concentrate on getting your population vaccinated.
