River End Canary 18 Posted August 1, 2018 I wonder what a Lambert/culverhouse combination would do with this squad I bet they would rip up the league. Farke will only manage a mid table finish I suspect I know a few may disagree but in all honesty it is the truth You couldn''t make this stuff up

dylanisabaddog 6,143 Posted August 1, 2018 I hope you''re wrong but I have a nasty feeling that you''re not. The teams that have been successful in the Championship over the last few years tend to move the ball very quickly and accurately from one end of the pitch to the other, much like Lambert''s time in charge. Defenders at Championship level only struggle when they are forced to turn round and run towards their own goal. I suspect that they loved playing against us last year. norfolkngood 1,174 Posted August 1, 2018 Lambert ( when here ) was all about Attacking football and Passion if we were ever losing you still had hope and he would gamble and go for it Farke and a lot of modern Managers Southgate included are safe keep the ball even when losing tippy tappy footballEngland in semi final 5 mins to go were passing it around instead of putting stones upfront and bombarding the goal i agree with others you have to turn teams with pace and speed of pacing passing in front of them makes their job easier

But that is not going to happen under Farke, is it?The Suffolk Socialists will of course wait and wait until it is too late, as is their habit.
Guest Posted August 1, 2018 Looking at the Championship this season and the amount of money being thrown around, there are going to be many clubs and sets of supporters very disappointed in May.Are Stoke, Swansea, WBA, Villa, Middlesboro and Derby all going up? Three very unhappy bunnies there, let alone the likes of Forest who are spending money they may not have.I wait in hope for us but my head says don''t expect us to be challenging for anything this season. So I don''t see any manager/coach getting too much from the current squad. Lambert was lucky to a certain extent that he had the front three already here.
glory.win or die. 273 Posted August 1, 2018 Based on what both have done since leaving, I would say mid table mediocrity and relegation battles coupled with allegations of bullying so thank God we have moved on.
lake district canary 4,830 Posted August 1, 2018 We have better players around the place. Maddison is the exception of course, but Hernandez and Buendia both look to have something about them for pace, Mclean and Pukki look the business, we have young players coming through in Thompson and Godfrey to name two, we still have the experience of Tettey, a goalkeeper with more pedigree than Angus Gunn had, a prolific striker at this level in Rhodes who has looked lively pre-season. Good options in midfield and a coaching set up that many players still here from last season will be much more familiar with this season. So it doesn''t feel to me like we have gone backwards at all - quite the opposite. Farke is intelligent too and will have learned a lot from last season and the squad should be motivated to give us a real good season. Lambert? Good memories, but that is what they always will be - memories. Perhaps people should stop living in the past and embrace the present.
Well b back 3,604 Posted August 1, 2018 Lambert messed up with far better squads and more money than we have
norfolkngood 1,174 Posted August 1, 2018 LDC Krul is a massive Gamble as was Gunn
6088m canary 4 Posted August 1, 2018 Lets face it, it could go either way. There is potential in the squad but only that. Most need to regain previous form or break through.I admire LDCs optimism but Hernandez, Mclean and Buendia are untested at this level. Leitner and Rhodes were useful about 2 and a bit years ago, Pukki didn''t make the grade at Celtic, Krul got a serious injury and hasn''t looked the same since. Passlack sounds good on paper but needs to adjust to the Champs.Personally, I have a sneaky feeling that these gambles could well pay off and well have a half decent side out there. However, that is what we are doing - gambling.
