Baldyboy 1 Posted July 22, 2017 Is that 1971/72 or 1972/73?
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted July 22, 2017 Paul Cheesely on our right maybe?
cornish sam 1,040 Posted July 23, 2017 Is that Ron Saunders or Vladimir Putin about to go riding?
Duncan Edwards 2,424 Posted July 23, 2017 Must be Saunders, I can''t see Trump "assuming the position"
PurpleCanary 6,386 Posted July 23, 2017
Paul Cheesely on our right maybe?
Looks more like Colin Suggett to me, nutty. And that is definitely Dave Beasant behind Saunders'' right arm...

And that is definitely Dave Beasant behind Saunders'' right arm...
If it is summer 1972 it is not Suggett as he joined Feb 1973Not Dave Beasant as he would have been 12/13 then2nd from right (City shirt) looks like Trevor Howard, to his right Max Briggs ?next behind Saunders, Billy Steele, Roger Hansbury, Steve GrapesGrapes, Hubbard, Hansbury, Steele, Briggs, Howard, (Andy Rollings ?) Bill 1,788 Posted July 23, 2017
Paul Cheesely on our right maybe?
I think it is actually Paul ''Chez lee'', not Rollings
Hairy Canary 754 Posted July 23, 2017 Are we sure it''s not 1973 as that definitely looks like Suggett to me.
lake district canary 4,831 Posted July 23, 2017
Grapes, Hubbard, Hansbury, Steele, Briggs, Howard, (Andy Rollings ?)
It''s not Max Briggs.
Guest Posted July 23, 2017 I don''t think that is Howard second from right, I think it is Glen Self.
Guest Posted July 23, 2017 I think Grapes, Hubbard, Hansbury, not sure about blondie, don''t think it is Steele, Rollings, Self, Cheesely.
Guest Posted July 23, 2017 But just maybe the one I thought was Rollings could be Steve Goodwin.
daly 551 Posted July 23, 2017
I don''t think that is Howard second from right, I think it is Glen Self.
Too tall to be Trevor Howard
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted July 23, 2017 We need YOTT! It''s not Briggs and Howard that''s for sure. I''ll go with Grapes, Hubbard, Hansbury, Steele, Self, Cheesely.Could be Howard hidden. And no I''m not certain, it''s a long time ago...
PurpleCanary 6,386 Posted July 23, 2017
Are we sure it''s not 1973 as that definitely looks like Suggett to me.
It does look like Suggett, and the build is right for him. Cheesley was over six foot, and a strapping lad, from memory, so I don''t think it is him: The player hidden by Saunders''s left arm could be Trevor Howard. nutty nigel 7,902 Posted July 23, 2017 If it''s Hubbard then it''s not Suggett. I still think it''s 72 and Cheesely but not sure...

Bill 1,788 Posted July 23, 2017 Having checked some long forgotten stuffI think number 5 and 6 (from the left) could be Messrs Kent and Fryer

nutty nigel 7,902 Posted July 23, 2017

That''sd a great picture Molly. I''ve nicked it because it could be good to use at Still on the Ball. So could it be... Grapes, Hubbard and Hansbury on our left and Kent, Jacobs and Cheesely on our right?
Molly Windley 76 Posted July 23, 2017 It`s to my shame that I have absolutely no recollection of Jacobs or Kent even though I went to all the home games that season. Anyone remember them or anything about their careers?
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted July 23, 2017 Paul Kent only played a couple of times for the first team and that was later when Bondy was manager.. Got injured and was one who went on to play for Unity Emeralds. But his debut, albeit as sub, was against Manchester United. I don''t think Jacobs ever played for the first team. I can''t even ever remember seeing him play for the Ressies. I guess I must have done...

Year of the tiger 66 Posted July 24, 2017 Sorry a bit late to this. Have seen the photo before & struggled with the one under the arm. As far as I can see it''s Grapes Hubbard Hansbury ?? Goodwin Jacobs CheesleyPossibly ?? Could be Paul Fryer but I think it is more likely to be an A team lad who didn''t appear on the picture. I''ll keep racking my addled brain
Ginja 43 Posted July 24, 2017 Not sure if this is helpful or not [;)] did a reverse image search and found an article claiming the date of the picture is August 10, 1972
