Footyexpert Offers Guidance

Recommended Posts

Set out on a journey without the proper equipment and an inexperienced guide and you can be pretty sure of the outcome.

The Footyexpert suggests the following needs to be done.

Firstly our best players need to be on the pitch and positioned in key areas.

John Ruddy (29 and rated as one of the best keepers in the country) needs to return in goal and stay there.

Required for the obvious and his experience is required to organise the defence.

Robbie Brady is wasted at left back. Arguably the best all round player in the team with a 90 minute engine. The bottom line is NCFC cannot afford to have a player of such quality at left back.

Brady needs to be moved into central midfield ( not on the wing) alongside Naismith, to brake up opposition midfield play and to provide a much improved attacking threat and most importantly revive the underperforming midfield engine.

RB needs to be brought back alongside Klosse.

Right back needs to have more pace and the ability to stay with play for 90 minutes probably should be Wisdom.

Defending starts in midfield and there needs to be more work done to get the midfield integrated with the defence so that both act as one unit when defending.

Upfront, well there''s not a lot of goals going on and there is a real issue of pace up front, so I would be tempted to experiment with Redmond in the centre sitting just in front of Brady and Naismith. Ok I fully realise the height up front thing, hold up play blah blah but this could be more than offset by his pace on the ground

And any opposition team would be very wary of such pace directly in front of their goal especially with Nausmith and Brady in close proximity.

If you had included that we need to score more goals than the opposition then maybe you''d have some credibility.

You missed Redmond as lone striker [8-)]

With greference to the op, this is not the worst I''ve heard, the only bit that made no sense was Redmond, why not Jerome then. He''s got pace and offers more defensively, and with Naismith and Brady he''s a likely scorer.

The idea is to give the opposition something to think about and pace up front does just that, that''s having enough pace to break through, if required, from half way.

Placing Redmond in the centre will put him up against normally much slower centre backs. This will mean that if they push up too far behind their midfield they risk the pace of Redmond getting in behind them. So a problem then occurs, if their defence doesn''t push up behind midfield gaps appear. You can only exploit this situation with pace up front it causes teams to think twice before committing too many players forward. Add in Brady and Naismith

And the opposition will have lots to think about.

It''s a game of chess and to win you need the right pieces in the right places on the board.

Thanks for your positive comments.

Don''t get me wrong, the OP is a tool, and not even the sharpest one in the shed, but Brady at CM is something that is at least worthy of consideration. Not necessarily right now in the middle of a relegation battle, but he has all the tools to be pretty effective there. He''s quick enough, strong enough, he''s not shy of defending, has a range of passing, can shoot and can take players on and beat them. I could see him moving inside later on in his career, and think he''d actually probably be quite good there.

Oulsson could have played at left back from the start releasing

Brady into central midfield.

So obvious Brady should be in central midfield alongside Naismith,Listen to the Footyexpert if you want to have a chance of winning.

The Footyexpert says get your best player in a key position and that''s not LEFT BACK.

Robbie Brady:-

90 minute engine.

Tricky and a threat from midfield.

Can shoot with either foot.

Defensive ability to break up midfield play.
