  1. I honestly think this sort of thing doesn''t matter all that much. We have plenty of players willing to put their bodies on the line for the club: Snodgrass, Turner, Johnson, Ryan Bennett, Russell Martin, even Martin Olsson can not be accused of hiding when the going got tough. The problem was in the coaching, man management and approach by Chris Hughton and his team. No ''cult hero'' would have changed how the life was drained out of us by a rigid 4-1-4-1 with a static midfield. Fair play to Holty for seeing how it would stifle him and getting out before it ruined his legacy.
  2. GP appears to be blind to the fact that though his passion is unquestionable, technically BJ is woeful. I would love to see his highly astute analysis of Johnson''s excellent, consistent midfield play backed up with statistical evidence- but I highly doubt that''ll be forthcoming. He''s good though, that Johnson. Some people are just desperate to be different.
  3. Chuks Aneke. If we don''t sign him, we are STUPID STUPID STUPID idiots
  4. I imagine they''ll continue to take oxygen in and expel carbon dioxide until their eventual inevitable expiration.
  5. What a refreshingly unique outlook in the lead up to the new season. I''m glad you took the time out to post this. It is people like you, Yellow Green Army, and your ilk that truly make this messageboard one of the best football forums around. Kudos, my friend
  6. To be fair, The Sun are always spot on and never lazily lift stories from local media, so I can see why you''d criticise Private Frazer for calling it a wind up.
  7. That''s a fair assessment. I hope he can deliver on these claims of fast, attacking, winning football. But if we''re going to do that and he''s 100% confident in it then our technical director (Ricky Martin?) will need to support it in the players we bring through in order for the club to have a clear philosophy. I''d certainly like that to be the case. It''s probably pedantry but as you say he could and probably should have been more vague to the press about what he is going to do.
  8. People seem to think Leeds are. I think they''re still buggered. We''ll see who''s right
  9. He needs to be more guarded. He''s being naive from a PR perspective and setting himself up for a fall when he is in a difficult enough job already. I understand he is keen and fans love to see it but from a realists view, Neil needs to calm down with his bold claims and let his players do the talking on the pitch. If people want to call me a detractor and question my support I really don''t give a toss.
  10. I think he''ll tell the players what he wants from them. What a manager says to the press should be taken with a very large pinch of salt. That''s basically rule one of understanding football. I just think he needs to stop being Mr Not Hughton and start being his own man.
  11. I am pleased with his appointment as my signature suggests. Am I not allowed to express concern about his overzealousness to the press. I worry that he''s making a bed he may struggle to lie in. But I hope not. I think you''d be less aggressive towards me if there wasn''t so much overreaction prevalent on this board. I see nothing wrong in what I''ve said. No one''s perfect, particularly an inexperienced manager- albeit one with decent potential. Sort it out.
  12. why does he feel the need to bang the ''I''m not Hughton'' drum so pathetically? We get it Neil, you agree with the fans that we were far too cautious under Careful Chris and will look to play a more expressive game... ..it''s just what with the readiness with which he''s churning through soundbites he may as well have sat down in the presser and said ''''goals, goals, attacking football, goals, pace, wingers, pace, goals, attack, goals, ATTACK!'''' ...Just makes me slightly wary that he may not actually have an actual plan....yet, as he''s far too desperate to appease the fans. I believe in him though. That said, I believed in Hughton initially.
  13. You were doing so well Ginge. The Prem was only dull because Hughton made it dull. Lambert''s season was not just exciting because of being back but mainly because of the way in which we were willing to try and get in teams'' faces and get on the front foot. Hughton tried to turn us into a results machine but the parts weren''t well oiled. I appreciate your attempt to look at the pros but to suggest that the Prem is s*** for clubs like us is a very, very odd statement indeed. I wonder if you were wishing we were in the Championship when we beat Spurs at White Hart Lane, drawing with Liverpool and Chelsea away, beating United, beating Arsenal, drawing with Man City at home, the pulsating 3-3 at the Emirates, putting four past Newcastle, 4-3 at the Liberty...i could go on. You must have been bored out of your mind.
  14. All of those arguments are poor. Please don''t make me explain why. I''ll try and do it simply. Forest were playoff certs and victims of mass unrest behind the scenes. Not a midtable side. Boro I don''t know enough about and by the sounds of it neither do you. Leeds have Cellino who yes, has money, but is a self-confessed trouble maker and is being forced into selling assets in order to cut their debt down. Hardly going to be in a good position to compete next year. Oh dear. ''The whole Italy agreement'' is underhand stuff from the owners of Udinese who are using Watford as essentially a feeder club. These players do not have the commitment or care to want to progress the Hornets as shown by that midtable finish. And Bolton are in financial ruin. Yeah, we''re doomed
  15. The first of many threads through the summer pathetically banging the drum for anyone that isn''t Norwich. When we finish in the top 6, it''ll all go quiet over there very quickly.
  16. Top 6. Those stating lower midtable do not understand the financial disparity we are contextual beneficiaries of
  17. If we won League 1 every year we''d be up our own ar5es too
  18. I think the Scottish media''s slander on Lennon has elements of truth. Your latter statement is ridiculous though.
  19. I''m fascinated by your 100% verifiable insight into the decision making process behind the scenes at Carrow Road
  20. Neil Lennon....psychopath Malky Mackay....Hughton Adams....attacking football, naive but with the best handle on promoting youth players from within.
