  1. I also think that despite that, it''s a stupid decision for Spurs to sack him… or WBA to sack Clarke etc etc
  2. Make that four of our first team players out injured - Tettey, Pilkington, Snodgrass and van Wolfswinkel, plus Bassong and Hooper were also missing games at the start of the season so just coming up to fitness… plus there is a very big difference to getting beat 5-1 away at Liverpool and getting beat 0-5 at home to Liverpool (especially if you are Spuds and spent over $100m… and have scored exactly the same number of goals as Norwich)
  3. " So Swansea lose, a long trip back to S.Wales another trek across the UK to CR with their minds still on the Europa Cup maybe, it could be a good time to play them " Apparently ... so 4 from two, how many for the next two?
  4. It may be difficult YS, looks like it is scheduled for NBC Sports Extra Time which not all cable systems will carry. So the next option is NBC Sports LIve Extra which is live web streaming - every match is available that way - the catch is you need to be signed up for cable service that carries NBC Sports - even though almost all do, if you are in a hotel it may not be the case - unfortunately it''s not an unrestricted service.
  5. " A big difference was the lack of Snodgrass. As good a player as he is, he slows our attacks down to a snails pace. Hence no counter attacking goals last season. " Not related to the difference between Wednesday and yesterday, but yes I agree with this, Snoddy is a very good player, but he doesn''t seem to fit the style of attacker we have in the squad, so I doubt that he''ll be back in the first team line up - at least for away games … but even at home I think he''s fighting for a place with Hoolahan...
  6. It''s so sad that some are so blinded by their hate ...
  7. Alternatively CH really did think that Elmander and Hoolahan was better a combination against Liverpool?
  8. One thing they clearly did better than us was muscle of off the ball in almost every tackle - especially in the second half, but other than that I though we played well, and great to see two clinical finishes from us.
  9. It could just be that Hooper has been injured and has only just got up to match fitness so yes, he was rested as 3 games in 8 days is too much at the moment?
  10. " Football might be classed as a results based business but I''m not interested in the business. I''m not a results based fan. I want to watch entertaining, exciting and attacking football. " Perfectly reasonable, and I think you would have enjoyed parts of our game today… although I must admit I was screening at my screen when we kept giving the darn ball back to them throughout what seemed like the entire second half. It''s obvious the confidence within the team is growing, looking forward to Tetty and Pilks coming back into the picture, IMO we could be quite a threat then…. and play some pretty football.
  11. " Today it was great to see a change and despite injuries Hughton looks like he set the team up yo win and not just hold off the opposition " IMO although we got thumped at Liverpool I thought he started with a more positive approach in that game … the main difference being Suarez was on fire that night, and the WBA strikers are not in his class :-) Before Suarez scored with that 45 yard chip over Ruddy, the commentators were praising us for taking the game to Liverpool….
  12. " We can get smashed at Anfield, Old Trafford, the Etihad as often as we like. As long as we pick up points in these sorts of games I''m delighted." Exactly, all that matters is the number of points you get.
  13. Our inability to keep the ball isn''t helping - we seem to be losing every tackle.
  14. Was Brunt a bit lucky to get away with a yellow for tha?
  15. Would be nice if we could work out how not to keep giving the ball away … but great goal...
  16. Back to Martin Jol. IMO most managers get sacked because of a run of defeats ….so you can certainly argue that we have lost momentum, and CH should go, but what is undeniable is Fulham lost SIX games in a row… and seven in a row now since they changed manager.
  17. " And just how long should we be patient LDC. Until Saturday when we''ve lost again. Until Xmas when we''re firmly stuck in the bottom 3. Until the end of January because we''ve decided to give him some more money to waste. Until the end of February when the January signings have made no difference. Until the end of March when bottom of the league. Until the end of April when our last chance has gone & we''re in line for 4 more drubbings. Or until the end of May when we''ve just been relegated. So LDC, at what point will your patience run out. How many more games of going nowhere are you prepared to put up with. What, or when, would be the defining moment that makes you join the "Out" camp" " This is like reading letters to the newspaper from Tea Party supporters in America. i.e. you have made you mind up, and now all there is to do is bash everyone else who doesn''t agree with your conclusion with "facts" which in reality don''t exist. - we haven''t lost the WBA (yes we could) - we are not in the bottom 3 (yes we could be) .. etc etc It''s a results based business which means its a points and position based business, the board will do what it believes is the right thing based on that… IMO despite being stuffed last night, the team played better than in previous away performances, more aggressive, more fluid, committed more men forward, we are not going to run into Suarez again until we play them at home and by that time maybe Tettey will be back, maybe we will have signed a new DM, and maybe we will have a new manager.
  18. ''We need to lose better at bigger and better clubs'' He really said that? Link > ?
  19. " Has anybody ever seen him pictured at a midweek game checking out forthcoming opponents? " That''s a bit difficult when there aren''t very many mid week games in the Premiership eh? Other than when we are also playing ?
  20. He won''t walk, and it''s not for the money - he''s an honorable man, and he''ll stay to fix the problems.
  21. IMO Gary Birtles had it right in his commentary, at 1-0 down he said why not bring on Hooper, at 3-0 he said it doesn''t matter any more what we do. This is my issue with Chris Hughton; unlike some guy called Paul Lambert who apparently often makes changes, CH apparently won''t. If we''d gone on to lose 5-1 after making changes at 2-0 down, then I think most people would say O.K we were just outclassed. But to lose 5-1 without making any significant and early changes smacks of defeatism, even though frankly most of the players remained quite positive and attacked throughout the game.
  22. But goal difference does not say to all … points do first. And only then does goal difference matter. So we could lose half a dozen games 5-1 and it won''t matter if we pick up enough 1-0 or 2-1 wins.
