  1. I hope he is sacked. Can''t motivate, to negative!
  2. Not a fan of Adkins - but I''d support this to get a manager in who is positive. Hope it happens tonight and we don''t let him squander the transfer budget.
  3. Start strong, get ahead, then bring some kids on for a debut they can enjoy.
  4. Bunn is a Number Two! Talk about tell it as it is. Rudd or Steer in for Bunn.
  5. He hasn''t sorted out the defence. Losing Ruddy was a massive blow - but Bunn is no better than Rudd who has potential to improve. Is he looking to buy strikers to develop a more attacking style of play? We play defensively and he talks the opposition up so much he has convinced me we have no chance by kick off. I wish he''d talk about what we can do and not that we can''t compete. He has not convinced me he has a love of the club. If we stay up he has done well - such is the impact he has made I don''t care if he stays or goes.
  6. Thanks for the measured response - hope you are right. I''d be happier with a new signing or two. Not convinced we will get Hooper or Graham so I hope we have other options as well.
  7. Why did you sign Bunn? Why do you always talk up the opposition? Why did you not by a pacey flair player over the summer?
  8. Don''t post often but really fed up tonight. Not convinced Lambert would have kept us up - but at least we had a go. Hughton has made us no better defensively but we are awful to watch. The midfield looks poor, but we have no movement or pace in the oppositions half to play a ball to feet or for someone to run on to. Even if it was effective, it is still poor football to watch. Did Hughton learn nothing from the drubbing at Carrrow Road? If we sign a striker will we create chances? Bunn instead of Rudd - really - a second choice championship keeper over a developing, young, local international? Is Howson poor, or put in a team with no forward runners to utilise? Hughton appears a nice enough bloke but I want a better, more attacking style of football. I have never been convinced his negative outlook has been suited to Norwich, and he has created a team that is incapable of scoring or defending.
  9. I enjoyed the game on Saturday.  Defence is vulnerable, but at 3-1 I did think we created some chances and looked good going forward and good have got back in the game.  I thought we weren''t that noisy on Saturday, and that is a worry.  I remember when we went down at Charlton, thinking - the support has been great and we deserve better than this.  I have accepted we will struggle this season, Hughton and the players will do their best - so I am going to accept what comes but sing a bit louder.  The season in League 1 is the best I can remember watching Norwich City - great fans and traditional grounds I hadn''t visited before.  Doubt I would have felt the same if we had been relegated though!
  10. I don''t believe Grant would shed a tear.  After today, am sure most of those not selected would be thinking - if I don''t start next week I''ll never get a game unless they leave.
  11. I have it on good authority that Hughton bid £3m for the donkey but we couldn''t meet his wage demands.  Anyhow, he would have made the rest of the team look bad, and Hughton would have put him in goal.
  12. Chris Hughton - your team and tactics were pathetic!    Players - you were humiliated today.    I support Norwich City, prove it means something to you.  No interviews - prove it.  3 points from the Bridge and give me 11 who care, and a management team with a plan.   Play a team with some City pedigree.  Fox, Hoolahan, E Bennet, Holt.  No more Leeds glory boys in midfield, give the boys who have stuck with us a chance, instead of the "I came to be in the Premier" crowd.   Turner - never again.
  13. McVeigh and Hughton far too chummy.
  14. Holloway.  Can motivate, and will attack.
  15. Holloway.  Does well with no money - and can motivate.
  16. I think Chris is just different to Lambert. Perhaps he feels he is taking the pressure of the players by talking about the opposition.  It also doesn''t give any clues as to his formation or team selection.  I thought Hughton was hopeless after the Fulham debacle, but have warmed to him. Iwan summed it up really, the team needs us at the moment as we have had a poor start and now have a tough run of games.  I think when Chris was talking about John Bond in the week he indicated he wanted to be here for as long - something Lambert never indicated.  On the basis no players go out not to try, are deliberatley unfit, or want to lose - lets try and raise our game.  Lets try and make Carrow Road our team wants to play, and others don''t want to visit. I''m not criticisng fans, just think an extra 10% from us will get an improvement from the team.  PS - Suggestions for songs always fall flat - but does anyone else see potential in the old "More reasons, more reasons, more reasons - more reasons to shop at Morrisons" advert as a catchy ditty for our much maligned striker?  Perhaps - "More reasons, more reasons, more reasons - more reasons to cross to Morison!" - I''ll get my coat!
  17. After the Fulham debacle I questioned if Mr Hughton was the man for us?  Did he learn nothing from pre-season, the players didn''t look fit and the tactics were woeful.  I had seen nothing to inspire me that he could do a job for us. After the games agaisnt QPR and Spurs I have seen enough.  He''ll do for me, 2 up front again and players working hard for the shirt until the last minute.  I''m a "glass half empty" fan, but I have been impressed with the recent performances.  I thought Brellier  was a decent signing, so it''s not unusual for me to be wrong.  I''m delighted I was, and those who urged restraint after the Fulham defeat can rightly and smugly say "I told you so". Full credit for the way the team has come on since opening day, which has probably been helped by the support on the road.  Off to make an Omelette from the egg on my face, and have a coffee and slice of humble pie.
  18. I think most of us care about the club, and at least we can discuss here and support on a Saturday. I think Hughton is not the man for us - genuinely hope I am wrong. To put my opinion in context - I thought Brellier was a top signing! Still wiping the egg of my face from that one! Don''t post much myself but the more views the better.
  19. Something different - Ruddy Francomb. Martin. Bennett. Garrido. Bennett. Johnson. Howson. Surman. . Jackson. Vaughan. Subs: Rudd. Ward. Hoolahan. Smith. Lappin. Holt. Morison.
  20. I was someone calling for Hughton to go after Saturday.  Although the performance was shambolic, for me this was compounded by Hughtons apparently negative and defeatist comments after the game.  It is awful to call for anyone to be sacked, but I didn''t hear anything to convince me he will turn it around or that the players believe in him.  The lack of players comments is adding to this feeling.   On another thread someone posted a league table showing where Newcastle were in the Premier when they sacked Hughton - apparently to support his ability.  It showed after 18 months in charge they were level on points with Holloway''s Blackpool - despite starting with a Premier League squad in the Championship and having far greater resources.    None of us know what will happen in the future, but I wouldn''t want Hughton to stay and suffer the long painful demise that Worthington endured.  I think he has prepared an unfit demotivated team that don''t believe in him.  He may think our players are technically inferior, but from my seat I think when we had the ball the formation often left us with no forward pass available, players were closed down and we had to lump it clear.   Hughton experimented in pre-season and continued this on to Saturday expecting different results. The similarites with Gunn for me are that he is a nice guy, the players don''t appear to respect him, his signings and tactics appear poor.   That is my view, not right or wrong, just how I see it today. On Saturday though, I will be 100% behind the team hoping I can encourage them to prove me wrong.
  21. Morning. I am not saying Mr Hughton is a bad manager, but in my opinion he is not the manager we needed. Yesterday was awful, his reaction worse.  I think most of us knew that 4-5-1 was unlikely to work. What I find surprising is his comment that Fulham are technically better. I think he is right - so why did he choose to play 4-5-1? Surely if we aren''t as good on the ball, get it forward quicker. Use the wing, cross, create a chance. Two up-front, knock down, the second striker follows in, chance.  Five in midfield, tippy-tappy football relies on quick accurate passing - not for the technically challenged players. Dani Ayala, perhaps prone to errors but improving - on the ball techncially good.  Farmed out and replaced by the hapless Turner.  Bennett was better when he came on - getting forward quicker than Snodgrass.  I''m sure others noticed when Fulham had free-kicks and corners Holt came back and no one replaced him.  Even if we won the first header in the box, the ball was going to be re-delivered and not retained - no outlet. When we won promotion, Billy Davies commented that at Norwich you felt the fans,  players, management, and board were all pulling together for the same thing.  Well, in my opinion Hughton is not a Leader or a fighter, which is what we need.  That unity has already been badly damaged by Mr Hughton and I would use the transfer budget to get rid of him. Bring in a fighter, a leader, a motivator - and someone who would relish the chance to manage a club the size of Norwich.  I can''t imagine how Mr Hughton would impress at interview. Completely understand the give him time argument, but he learned nothing pre-season.  Players looked unfit and not motivated, tactics woeful.  Given his comments, we can expect nothing from away games at the top 8 form last season - so we are running out of time to change.  Would be interested to know what those asking for more time have seen so far to convince them he is the man for Norwich? Support yesterday was great, and as I travel alone I am always greatful for the friendliness of fellow supporters, hope people will discuss this post and convince me I am wrong. I am sure Mr Hughton has many assets - but I don''t think he''s the man for us. PS - Could we please sign a player who is looking forward to playing for Norwich City, and not looking forward to playing in the Premier League!
