1. It looks as though the footballing gods are smiling on Bournemouth and the fixture list........ Bournemouth are away at Cardiff tonight. Which team had two players sent off on Saturday and I assume will be unavailable for selection? Cardiff.
2. Having watched the clip from behind the goal, it would appear to me that Jerome should be apportioned some of the blame as it appears he was there to mark the Derby player assaulting Ruddy, and therefore should have been offering his keeper better protection.
3. " He will learn from it and it will make him a better goalkeeper." Not necessarily. He has regressed as a keeper and would currently be given no consideration for a place in the England squad. As for a move to Chelsea, that likelihood has been well and truly buried
4. Mackay and Zola were being touted by several on here - Mackay is heading for League 1,and Zola has been sacked by Cagliari after just two wins in twelve games.Just goes to show that selecting the right manager for your club can be a complete minefield, but McNally''sjudgement on this front is proving to be way above average.
5.
Why would Blackburn loan out Rhodes when they''ve got a cup replay against Liverpool coming up?In any event we don''t need him.
I''m not sure you would be saying that if Jerome or Hooper were to get injured against Derby, and Grabban''s recoverywas to take longer than expected......
6. The disappointing result against Wigan was not an inevitability, but perhaps excusable after the Herculean efforts throughout February, and as the game that followed the excellent result against Ipswich. However, fatigue is a lame excuse for the performance and should not be used for the rest of the season. Johnson and Redmond could garner some sympathy, but Howson and Jerome haven''t started over a third of games this season, Hoolahan not even half, Hooper barely a third, and Dorrans, obviously, next to nothing. The attacking players in the Norwich squad, bar Johnson and Redmond, should have plenty in the tank for the rest of the season, and it is high time that players like Howson stepped up to the plate and showed an unbridled desire to get into the PL and no lame duck excuses come May.
7. Norwich and Watford would appear to be the only two teams from the top eight that have the luxury of being able to rotate their strikers, and lose nothing by doing so. I wouldn''t be surprised to see AN starting with Hooper and Jerome (if 100% fit), but would be impressed if he was prepared to start an in-form Grabban on the bench.
8. The evidence so far suggests that Alex Neil would relish the opportunity to pit his considerable wits against the so-called ''big boys''. For all the reputation of the PL, there is now only Chelsea and Man City that could be deemed ''streets ahead''. All the other teams can be vulnerable on any given day, and the ease with which Southampton and Swansea have established themselves in recent times gives optimism to any promoted side.
9. Only if he''s your ''buddy'' buddy.That''s a first!....you''ve just been ''out-buddied''..........
10. You see the bigger picture......and don''t necessarily seek instant gratification.... Til???? - lighten up, you miserable bar steward
11. Just a question to test the wiring of Norwich City supporters'' brains......What choice would you make?a)      A win on Sunday with Chris Hughton still in chargeorb)      A defeat on Sunday with Alex Neil in charge
12. I cannot believe there is any suggestion that AN will be gone if Norwich fail or win promotion! Have any of you seen or listened to the other managers in the Championship? AN has a burning desire etched across his forehead. He speaks lucidly, passionately and infectiously. If half of his demeanour is transferred over to the players then Norwich should be dead cents for promotion. The only reason AN will be leaving Norwich City any time soon is if homesickness becomes an issue or he can''t re-locate his family. AN is bringing a breath of fresh to a club that has been moving ever so slowly backwards for two years. It makes a change for a fresh new manager being given a chance to make his mark, rather than the same old dullards that move from club to club, dragging their over-sized entourage with them.......
13. With two wins from eighteen attempts following Xmas 2012, the only thing Hughton was guiding Norwich towards was relegation. Thanks to West Brom and Man City being ''on the beach'', and the greater incompetence of others, Hughton is bridled with the '' highest finish for.....'' award. I think it is of more interest to note that a Norwich squad ( shorn of Snodgrass, Pilkington and Fer), sits 18 points ahead of Cardiff ( minus Caulker, Mutch and Medel ) and 20 points ahead of Fulham ( minus no idea ). Under Hughton''s guidance last season, this Norwich squad was no better than that of Cardiff and Fulham.
14. 1) No promotion. It gives AN a complete pre-season, allows him to re-shape his squad where he sees fit. The relegated sides will come down without their main assets - Leicester (have they got one?), Aston Villa (Benteke), Burnley (Ings), QPR (Austin), Hull (?) or Sunderland (?). It won''t make next season a walk in the park, but Norwich have handled relegation much better than Cardiff, Fulham or this season''s candidates are likely to.2) Play-offs.Can be seen as a lottery, but if Norwich can continue to improve for the rest of the season and remain in the top six, the depth of squad will see them as play-off favourites. Three in-form strikers will be a major plus. If I had to choose a manager from the top six or eight teams to lead Norwich into the play-offs, then it would be a tight contest between Neil and McClaren.3) Automatic promotion. This will be gained by a superb run to the end of the season, and would set a great launch pad for the season ahead. To achieve it in half a season would be some feat by AN, and you get the feeling that he would make a better fist of things in the PL than Hughton could ever dream of.My understanding is that the new TV deal kicks in 2016, so if Norwich don''t want to be left way behind, they have two opportunities to catch the money train - this season and next.
15. I think it''s safe to say that Dorrans ''peaked'' five years ago, which coincided with the last time he was in the Championship. His career would appear to have either stagnated or regressed once he stepped foot into the PL. I would guess he has accumulated more yellow cards than goals over the last four years, and if it turns out that the PL is one level too high for him, then he will potentially only offer a short term impact. Derby County have set the bar for loan signings - Ibe, Ince, Bent and Lingard are propelling them towards the PL. Dorians needs to hit the ground running....
16. What an absolute farce! Why do Sky continue to build this up into something that never fails to disappoint?Instead of throwing money at this non-event, they could shave a penny off the Sky Sports subscription for all and sundry........
17. It has become sadly apparent that there is not one obvious candidate for the captaincy. Ruddy? - definitely not. Howson? Johnson? - not if their radio interviews are anything to go by. For effort, enthusiasm and articulation, Tettey is probably foremost. Perhaps O''Neil due to his previous experiences of promotion? It seems to me if these loafers are going to up their game for the rest of the season, then Alex Neill needs to dust down his boots and find himself a spot in the midfield, with ''captain'' clearly tattooed on his furrowed brow.........
18. A clear out is well overdue......unfortunately most of the players listed would draw little interest from any Championship, League 1 or League 2 manager with a glimmer of managerial nous, that were looking to build a side filled with skill, effort and consistency. Perhaps some of them could do a reasonable job at Conference level where they might offer value on a massively reduced wage.
19. Is it possible that after the divisive managerial tenure of Hughton, and the divisive appointment of Adams, McNally (with the help of a splendid result yesterday), has for the first time for a very long time, helped to unite NCFC supporters with an inspired, if off-the-wall, appointment of Alex Neil?
20. Tomorrow is ALL about the players - not the new manager. How competitive are they? How professional are they? Is the Bournmouth squad head and shoulders above our own? How much do they want to get back into the PL?
21. You don''t need a good playing career to become a good manager....... ALan Shearer, Bryan Robson and Bobby Charlton, to name but a few, testify to that. Many of the Norwich City squad have under-performed this season, and an off-the -wall appointment like this might not be a bad thing. It''s an appointment far more enticing than promoting Phelan, dragging in Warnock and the like, and it will become a lot more appetising if Phelan remains as Head Coach.
22. I trust you are taking some credit, TBF, after your impassioned radio call on Saturday night, for the Board acting so swiftly on a managerial change?
