1. I believe from reading Surman''s interview last week that he still has another year. Snodgrass only has another year so very unlikely we would get more than £5-6M. In fact i can''t believe we have let his contract run down this far.
2. I think anyone with sense can see that playing a dejected Arsenal team who are pinning their remaining hopes on the FA cup would be preferable than an Arsenal team fighting for the Champions League as well.
3. I guess we are, need Arsenal to be out of the running for 4th by our game.
4. According to a villa forum thread going back to last year Culverhouse has had a few busts up this season. Swearing at away fans who were booing a performance, leaving Lambert furious, and more recently he clashed with another coach, some Cowins chap. More recent posts claim they have been leaking team line-ups.
5. I think Yellow Wall it''s because no one can argue the fact he has been our biggest threat once again this season. More assists and goals than any other player, more chances created. He often gets abused for his crossing, but there is no one in the box to cross to the majority of times. It''s a problem with the system under Hughton, he was adamant we should get the ball wide and into the box, but we got rid of our two target men last season without replacing them, so the system just makes no sense.
6. Morty, i think it''s about more than not letting Fulham win now. If we had drawn yesterday, a draw with Fulham would have been ok, however if we don''t pick up the 3 points probably needed to stay up then i can''t see us drawing 2 of the last 4, 1 point from them will be a better than expected return. Fulham is a must win, we need the players who are willing to fight in the starting line up to give us any chance of winning
7. I think it''s time for a few changes for the Fulham game. I know making whole sale changes hasn''t often worked for us under Hughton and picking up on individual performances may not be useful at this stage of the season, however for me i would still make a few big changes before Fulham. First of all please can we scrap the limited 4 4 2 we play and go back to 4 5 1. None of our strikers are scoring so lets please stop wasting a squad place on two of them, and we seem to play much sharper and with a higher intensity with the five man midfield. Hooper to start up front on his own. I would suggest dropping Wes for Pilkington, one of our strongest players on his days, but unfortunately he is another who has suffered hugely under Hughton and wants out, so Redmond has to start, at least he will give their full back something to worry about. Bassong, IMO, should be dropped for the remaining games. Player of the season last year and being made captain has really made him think he''s of a higher quality than he is. Extremely weak mentally, doesn''t look fit enough for the premier league, no leadership, unable to concentrate for 90 minutes and one who seems to capitulate when things go wrong. Turner and Yobo/Bennett for me. Johnson has to come back into the team, we are missing his never say die attitude and determination. Obviously he isn''t blessed with quality but he wont hide and we need that next week. My team: Ruddy Martin Turner Yobo Olsson Snodgrass Johnson Tettey Redmond Howson Hooper
8. I would bring him in now till the end of the season, he''s the only real candidate for the short term. However, if we stayed up i wouldn''t keep him, too inexperienced IMO. He knows the club, sure he knows the players and still follows us. He has managed to sneak a few results against the big boys this year, we could use that for the final 4 games! I really can''t take any more of life with Hughton, seeing us not even try to compete in games now is a new low, he has to go!
9. GP, i have to completely disagree with you regarding Hooper and RVW. IMO Hooper has been far more dangerous, getting into the right position and making chances for himself and others. He has obviously scored 7x more than RVW as-well. RVW works hard and i hope it works out for him here, it will need a change of manager and way of playing for that to happen though. Foe me RVW had headless chicken syndrome, he runs around much more than Hooper, but often finds himself coming to deep and going missing when we need an outlet. Hooper chooses his runs more efficiently and this is why he gets in the goal scoring opportunities that RVW doesn''t. Now on Becchio, i think most would find it hard to argue RVW is a worse player, but judging solely by impact for minutes played, Becchio would be ahead of RVW. Hughton''s consistent use of RVW recently slaps of huge desperation, especially since Hooper has looked far more dangerous when played. At this stage in the season we can''t keep gambling with RVW, we need to give Hooper a run of games and work on RVW in the summer break.
10. Your spot on LDC, too many people writting these games off, saying that, if we lost to WBA and Fulham i think it''s game over. I see the Arsenal game as a very good chance for 3 points, assuming they have 4th spot nailed on. Man U have been shocking at home this season and you never know, could get a draw at the bridge.
11. I would say lucky Nutty! My betting this season has not gone well, and as the hundreds of everton fans who constantly keep reminding me on twitter would tell you, my prediction on them struggling this season couldn''t have been any worse! That being said, i do keep meaning to get involved with Rays Funds each season, just don''t get the time to post on here that much these days - next season!
12. I only tend to watch them on MoTD or against the big boys so can''t answer that, i expect very few, hence why they are in the same precarious situation. I think my point still stands though. If we have a good first half, we have a history of sitting back more in the second half and while some of the reasoning for this can be put down to opposition having to step their game up, i expect a lot of it comes down to the team set up after half time, keep it tight and hold onto the lead. This tactic is infuriating. It''s similar when we have to rely on a strong second half performance. It''s just frustrating the team have gone out initially looking jaded and off the pace and on occasion unmotivated. For me this comes down to the management team.
13. I got the Fulham, Hull and West Brom results correct, but you make a good point Nigel, points come from games you will never predict and points are lost in the same manner. I completed the table by favouring the teams around us and we still stay up, so i''m holding onto that bit of hope. If we fail to get 3 points from the remaining games, we simply deserve to go down.
14. Nutty your being a little pedantic. In all honesty, of the games mentioned we have had good spells, but the reality is we have not sustained those performances for 90 minutes in the majority of games. One of my major criticism of Hughton is that when we play well it tends to be either in the first half or the second, i can remember few instances over the season of us performing for the whole game.
15. It''s done through a Palace site, but does the job. Funnily enough i had Palace last once i finished it - can''t see that happening http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=500
16. Have a go at the premier league predictor. However many times i complete it, I have 35 points being just enough. Those points coming from draws against Fulham, Arsenal and West Brom. A win against West Brom and we should be safe. But i doubt we will win, in typical Norwich fashion it''s going to go down to final day
17.

Just re-watched one of the Wolfswinkel goal compilations on Youtube, and it''s like watching a different player. Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdUL4v2xps4 There are numerous goals in this where he has to beat a player or two, and finish from really tricky angles. Also, some of the finishes are class - little lobs and chips etc. I''ve seen him get into lots of positions like these this season but he just loses the ball, or can''t get it out from under his feet quickly enough. It''s a mystery.. but one thing''s for sure from watching these goals - he''s not just a one-touch poacher, he can do things that give himself that bit of extra space to get the shot away. He just can''t at Norwich yet for some mystery reason.
I''ve just watched this video, which is different from the one I saw, although many of the goals are the same. The bit of yours I''ve highlighted simply isn''t true. Out of the 15 goals I counted (excluding penalties) there is one where he runs from the halfway line and holds off a defender and turns him before shooting. And there is another where he beats the offside trap (so the defenders are all trailing behind) and latches on to a long through-ball and shoots past the keeper. But the rest are poacher goals (almost all one-touch), being on the end of a move and scoring with a shot or a header. He is not beating a player on numerous occasions to score. What I would agree with is that some of the finishes are pretty cute.
I''ve just watched the video and have to agree with Purple, most of the finishes are pretty standard poacher goals, which is what he is IMO. The thing that stands out from that video is just how poor the defence is, i think this goes a long way to explaining the RVW problem
18. Can there be retrospective action? The ref saw it and gave a yellow. I thought the FA only acted retrospectively if the ref missed the incident. This was right in front of Michael Oliver, how he didn''t give a red is beyond belief
19. I think a good full back is hard to find at this level. We could do with an improvement at RB and think Naughton is a cut above what we have.
20. Miggins, i think most Villa fans would have agreed with his performances in the first half of the season, however he''s starting to look like the beast he was last season. I expect if he continues that run of form till the end of the season his price will remain between £25-35M
21. We have to stick with RvW next season IMO. At the moment he looks like a striker who would struggle in the lower leagues, he is one of those strikers who don''t have any natural attributes - he''s not tall, strong, pacey therefore the assumption i made was that he is a finisher, however on this season''s evidence, a finisher he is not. I am desperate for it to work for the Wolf and while he runs round like a headless chicken fairly well, he needs to stop coming deep, he has to make the runs behind. I think with Hooper in the team we look more dangerous, Hooper may not be able to score either but he does create chances, RvW doesn''t even do that. Now despite all this, we need to keep him, he obviously has ability, he scored goals for fun before. Perhaps it will take time, perhaps he needs the right strike partner or number 10, but there is no point selling him now, we would be lucky to get £3 million. The club needs to gamble and hope next season we see a new RvW.
22. I don''t know Brownstone. So little has been made of his contract ending that you may well be right
