  1. It''s a 2 verse song He scored a goal against the scum Grant holt Grant holt He scored again then made it 3 Grant Holt Grant Holt, He scored 3 goals against the blue and how we laugh when Ipswich lose Super Grant Holt Norwich''s Number 9 He scored three goals against the scum, Grant Holt, Grant Holt, He scored three goals against the scum, Grant Holt, Grant Holt, He scored 3 goals against the scum and wesley bagged the other one SUper Grant Holt Norwich''s Number 9 I take full artistic credit for it
  2. Zambrela on loan from Newcastle, or Miller would be good on the striker front. Or looking lower, Le Fondre (Rotherham) Davies (Chesterfield) Donaldson (Crewe) Lambert (Saints) Or as I said pre season a cheeky move for Super Ched - The United fans do not like him and he''s only just regained his place in the team which I would suggest is more to do with the other strikers playing poorly. Defence wise, Maybe Jones (Preston) Mattock (West Brom - Loan) Magnus Okuonghae (Col U)
  3. I rang the club today, anyone who hasn''t had their tickets due to the weather needs to phone the club tomorrow at 10am to get their name on a list for a re-print to collect from Pride Park OTBC
  4. I live in Chesterfield (20 miles north of Derby) we have 24 inches of snow all over with drifts of upto 50! I haven''t had my tickets delivered and there''s been no buses or trains here for 3 days, so in a way I''m hoping it''s postponed
  5. I''ll try and get it going on Saturday so if you see me singing it and nobody joining in feel free to laugh
  6. He scored a goal against the scum, Grant Holt, Grant Holt, he scored again then made it 3, Grant Holt, Grant Holt, he scored 3 goals against the blues, and how we laugh when Ipswich lose, Super Grant Holt Norwich''s Number 9 Think it goes better than elongating Holt for the "he scored against the scum" chant
  7. I personally don''t see him as cover for Crofts as he is more of a Mulryne character in that he keeps the ball moving without chasing around for every lost cause. I think he could do well but would need Crofts or Smith with him in the middle
  8. Reading Draw Leeds Win Ipswich Draw Derby Lose Pompey draw Coventry Lose 6pts 10th
  9. Personally I think it depends on how the next few weeks go, I said in September that October and November were crucial months, the fixtures have been difficult week in week out and if we''re there or there abouts come December then why not go for it? Surman coming back will be like a new signing anyway, I think with the way the Premier League is at the moment there could be the opportunity for some loans but that''s not overly the Lambert way, more likely would be a player or 2 from the lower leagues, Johnson from Wednesday, or Davies from Chesterfield spring to mind. Curve ball transfer could be Ched coming back as the United fans aren''t keen, he''s been played out of position and isn''t in the starting XI (some games he''s not even in the 18)
  10. The 1-0 was a great game, Revered Phil with the assist from the ref, made the long journey home fly by. The next away game was Watford which was another great day with the side stand next to the away end full of Norwich fans as well, the stewards were calm about them starting OTBC as well
  11. For what it''s worth my 2 penneth, I''ve resisted the urge to get involved here as Millwall was the first away game this season I''ve missed so cannot comment. But I feel things are getting a little heated and it needs to calm down. MTV first of all you can''t get uppity of people calling you mate when you did it first one page 2 The Millwall incident sounds completely different to the Forest one as the boys in the morph suits were outside the ground chanting in colours etc. The lad at Forest was not he was in the ground, I was near him I understand he''s MTV''s son and I''m appalled he was hit as I am by all football violence, unfortunately though I am unsurprised, not because he deserved it or because he was asking for it (who would?) but because he was making gestures (as many Norwich fans were) in an outfit that makes him easily identifiable after the game. If you really think dressing in a morphsuit and goading the home fans when you have to walk through them is a good idea then it was a naive one. I am not saying he deserved it and I don''t think other posters on here are but surely you can accept that if there were Forest fans who wanted to hit him they would easily be able to find him, personally I thought at the time that wearing that he must be getting on Cabbage. Of course it could have just been a spontaneous attack in which case all the debate is frivolous. All football violence is wrong, you should be able to sing and support in any manner you like, however the lads at Millwall must have been aware that chanting as they were doing wasn''t going to end well, the recent incidents highlight an increase in football violence that I''m noticing from the Conference to Premier I''ve been at more games now than in the 90s with jumped up wasters who think it''s ok to attack people based on a team they support which is just pathetic. OTBC
  12. Tonight is the first away game I''ve missed, I love them, only made 3 homes games mind but it is a trek for me. I understand why people are staying away it is on sky and it''ll save a lot of money, at the moment I have a fair income and not a lot to spend it on so it goes on following Norwich and I''m happy with things like that
  13. If memory serves last time we went the best place to park wa sin the nearby shopping centre/multi storey car park, as for pubs I''m heading to the Hobgoblin (google it)
  14. I''ll be getting the train to Cardiff and having a couple in the City (this will eb the 4th visit and I''ve never had trouble in colours) However near the ground the only place I''d recommend it the Rugby club at the end of Lawrenny Street which again has been very welcoming to me in the past and has parking for the game if you''re driving (last time they gave you a voucher for a free drink with match parking) and it''s 5 minutes walk from the ground. 15. Got to say that the 3 times I''ve been have all been fine, been drinking (in colours) is pubs near the ground and have had many a happy hour in the rugby club to the north of the ground. I appreciate the dark days a trip here would have been nasty but the past 3 times we''ve played there I''ve been there and it''s been nothing but a pleasant experience
  16. I think the expectations are a little early at the moment we''ve had some hard games but we''ve also played some teams who have been awful on the day (Bristol and PNE spring to mind), the pressure will have been there from the start, McNasty has said that we want to push as far as possible and with the way we took last season''s title there were already many talking of a play-off push. As it is we have 2 exceptionally tough months ahead of us and if we''re still top 10 come December then I for one expect us to push on for top 6. Lambo won''t let the players get distracted by position I think he''l just be interested in performances and at the moment we''re doing ok
  17. Ruddy - 7 He had very little to do all game, caught a couple of cross shots very well and never really looked like conceeding with the exception of the chance that hit the bar. The main concern yesterday was similar to FF, his distribution was poor, yes the third goal was some quick thinking but it could have been done time and time agin prior to that, but that''s an aside, more often than not the ball was sent to Jackson or Wes instead of Holt (maybe this was done with a view to Holt winning the second ball) but even when he was aiming for Holt he often over hit it. He had a fine game just some food for thought. Martin - 8 Russell was exceptional, he was bombing up and down the line when he had to deal with Campbell Ryce (who destroyed us for Barnsley) he did so comfortably. Good crossing and generally a handful going forward dragging players left and right to develop space for the midfield, solid game Elliot - 7 Didn''t really notice him all game which I suppose shows a good game Ward - 8 A cracking game for Ward I don''t think any of the strikers got past him and in the 90th minute from a Brizzle corner he made it from box to box and probably should have scored Smith - 6/7 He was left exposed in the only real criticism of the team. He made some good tackles and passes, but is clearly unfit and mistimed a few as well and didn''t offer as much going forward as Drury but for a first league start and on the road to recovery was a fine display. Crofts - 8 Another fine game by Crofts fast looking a PoS in the making, his work rate and anticipation are something we''ve not had since a certain Holt in the middle Smith - 8 A solid game his passing and probing was excelptional all game he was offering an option in attacks Wes - 9 MOM Another exceptional game, the main criticism of the little wizard is he doens''t track well take a lok at yesterday he was everywhere, everytime he was on the ball you thought we''d get a decent chance Lappin 7 - KoS had another solid game perhaps a 7 rating is testiment to how well he''s been playing, he had a chance late on that he should probably have done a little better with and he was the one I''d say was leaving Smith a little exposed, but his crossing and battling nature mean that even when Surman is fit again he''ll have to battle to get back into the squad Jackson - 9 Took both goals exceptionally well and was a real handful all game, he was chasing balls down and forcing errors all afternoon. Now looking match fit we''re starting to see what he can offer Holt - 7/8 Still not fully fit but getting better every game, I think the break is just at the tright time for him as he has hit match touch in and can just get on wtih working on his cardio in training. He had the centre half (the ex Yeovil one who''s name escapes me) in his pocket all afternoon, there seemed to be a bit of trying to get Holt on the scoresheet which probably prevented us from adding to the 3 but he was solid enough and looks to getting back to noraml Subs Fox - 6 Probably not match fit and didn''t offer much, stand out memory of him was him giving the ball away Martin - 7 Battled hard, normal Chirs Martin performance really Summary: Bristol were poor but started the better, once the first goal went in they never really threatened. Bristol pumped many a ball into our box and had loads of corners but were toothless upfront and our midfield really bossed the game. Think it was a bit naive to be chanting "going up up up" we''ve had a fantastic start to the season and some will point to the position of the opposition but you can only beat what''s in front of you, we have a very tough run coming up until the scum and scum games and if we''re still top 6 at the start of December then we can start to believe but for now enjoy us playing good football and looking like establishing ourselves in the league rather than battling in or around the bottom 3. OTBC see you in London in a fortnight
  18. I''m not surprised at all by Watford, they have a very good first XI the reason they''re so heavily tipped for relegation is their distinct lack of depth, they will fade if they get injuries/tired players
  19. The 10 ticket stub ballot will help with the "big" games is you''re not an away/home season ticket holder. Last season I think the only ballot was for Brizzle, this year it will be Ipswich and possibly one or two others. Also if we get a big cup draw or get to the playoffs a ballot will occur at least for the better seats
  20. I know he''s from down the way but he really looks a talent, I think a move to Arsenal etc would be the wrong move for him at the moment as he''s not be played enough and it could hold him back a year or two (a bit like Walcott). Having seem Wickham play he is an exceptional player, comparable to Rooney, he just seems to have the chlichéd football brain, he''s big, strong, got a mean shot and can spot a good ball, he reminds me of Ashton and that is high praise indeed
