  1. Lakey’s point isn’t about success on the field. He’s pointing out that takeovers can be done speedily and cleanly for the sake of a fresh start and that Carlisle’s makes clear how pointlessly drawn out and messy ours has been. Point made and certainly worthy of reflection
  2. We will win and this will create a false impression all is well - putting off the inevitable until it’s too late…again
  3. Don’t grumble - after all we have the excellent PP to play at LB now!!
  4. I do worry he looks a little wet behind the ears and might not, therefore, be the strong experienced critic to hold club to proper account. We don’t need a timid yes man given the mess. Time will tell I guess.
  5. It would seem we have different yardstick by which to gauge being a good fan. Your notion that good fans must happy clap a selfish board, who are clearly a spent force and unable to take us forwards, and meekly accepting a clearly failing manager - isn’t my own. I say good fans should hold the ownership to account for the good of the club’s future and demand much better tactics and subs from their manager.
  6. People keep saying he’s a stats man. If that was true Wagner would be toast not being given extra time
  7. I really worry that if he doesn’t pull the trigger on Wagner the fans will turn on him immediately. Board should have done it in days before he arrived to give him a clean start. As it is he could reap a whole lot of negativity very very quickly
  8. Apparently Knapper is a stats man. So here are Wagner’s stats since he left Huddersfield. A long spell with three different clubs which should give a good account of his current effectiveness in the game. games played 120 games won 46 games drawn 31 games lost 43 Win rate % 38.3 incidentslly this is better than his overall record which is a win rate of 35.2% That makes any belief in some long term success with him at the helm a hope more than an expectation. So does our goals/shots against columns this season - which are the worst in the entire league - a league we are meant to be competitive in. If using stats the writing is on the wall. Nor do injuries to strikers explain the woeful defending. knapper risks tarnishing his own reputation before he even settles if Wagner is in the dugout for our next fixture. He will look ponderous and uncertain at best- out of his depth and a yes man at worst. By all means put an interim coach in place - if you need time to hire the right person. But leaving him there given the toxic atmosphere and insane tactics and subs and recent performances- this season and last is not sensible. Cant think of another club in the football league who wouldn’t have sacked him already just based on the stats alone
  9. That’s poor. The theory is fine but only if you have a decent manager. I fear we don’t
  10. Sorry but the results this season and the tactics and subs don’t leave space for the notion that only idiots would immediately fire. I say only idiots would not recognise that the manager is out of his depth, if the new guy doesn’t want to be tarnished he needs to sack him, put his own man in place and give the club the fresh start it needs. Anyone can see that surely?
  11. He needs to go. It gives the new manager enough time to plan for January- not much to play with but some wheeling and dealing could bring in a player to strengthen that midfield. His record is awful and his tactics and subs just bizarre- nice chap but definitely part of the problem not the answer
  12. Or did Webber thrive like a parasite off the body built up by Bowkett and McNally - then got found out when his own foundations were shown to be bare? Take thse stats from my football writer today as evidence that might just be true… McNally – gross rev from transfers: £207.5m Webber – gross revenue from transfers: £60.5m McNally – revenue generated per player signed: £3.4m Webber – revenue generated per player signed: £0.7m McNally – net profit/loss from transfers: £49.3m Webber – net profit/loss from transfers: £-63.8m
  13. Yes I think the board want to wait for knapper - to let him deal with it and not undermine him before he arrives. The question is- why does he need to be away on holiday whilst the club burns? Another 3 points chucked away against Cardiff could be costly. the sane business minded thing to do is sack Webber and get him out of the building by lunchtime today. Sack Wagner. Call knapper in tomorrow and end his holiday- promising to grant him extra later on in the year when emergency action has been taken
  14. As time passes it becomes more and more obvious that the greatest loss for this club was Alan Bowkett. All professionalism vanished when he left and we have declined ever since. Whereas on his watch we improved hugely
  15. That is pathetic- sorry to hear it buh- hopefully the mods do the sensible thing and keep you posting
  16. Is Wagner still in charge? How so? I can think of literally no other club who would allow that. Poor bloke- he’s a nice chap and looked so dejected in his video yesterday. Do the decent thing and put him out of his misery. Almost ANY other manager would be an improvement- he’s a one trick pony without a plan B- and his plan A has been found out
  17. 1. There is a clause where if he plays his wages rise, or we owe more money we don’t have or he gets extra years 2. he has fallen out with Wagner for speaking uncomfortable truths it has so be something like this surely? glaring problems at cb and a decent clubs POTS CB last year debt buy an appearance - that is very weird
  18. I too have wondered about that. D and N are like parents who over love and stifle a child- nobody is good enough for their baby! 3 years and then we might say yes or no - this is the action of someone who knows they need to sell but really don’t want to…
  19. Hernandez over Sainz, McLean over Baath at Cb, it’s just bizarre - does he want the sack I wonder?
  20. He must have said some home truths to the management - it just makes so sense otherwise. He’s a CB who won player of the season at a decent champs club last year- yet Kenny gets in ahead of him. So insulting
