1. Those two games will cost us at the end. Two home games there for us for the taking against teams who were doing nothing and we went on the cautious side from the start and never took it to either team. His cautious approach of settling for a draw is sending us down. Hughton out!.
2. I really hope I''m wrong but Norwich 1-3 Villa. I can just see Villa having too much pace and firepower up front, and as we are likely to be without Turner will clinically overcome us. If we can get in there faces early and stop them coming right at us and show a bit more quality in the final third to test their dodgy back line then hopefully it will be different.
3. How are we going to cope with Benteke? the thought of him up against the likes of Barnett and Bennett is a shuddering one.
4. Norwich 1-3 Villa Norwich 0-0 WBA Man City 4-1 Norwich I think we''ll be okay still, but only just.
5. Anyone got a spare coach ticket for Saturday? Sold out from the ticket office.
6. Survive just. I think Wigan''s run in and the fact they have the distraction of a Cup final and a relatively thin squad will undo them, I think we will finish 17th.
7. Maybe if Hughton had gone into games against Newcastle, Fulham, Saints etc with a positive attacking attitude, rather than going on the cautious side. We wouldn''t be in this sh*t now.
8. are in excess of 50 quid for adults. Disgusting prices for a game that may well have nothing riding on for either side. Against Modern Football.
9. Hughton''s job is to win matches and at the moment he isn''t doing that.
10. Putting my tin hat on here but I thought the second half performance was superb, we had them pinned in their own half for 20-25 minutes and should have scored the third while we were on top. First half the passing was awful, particularly in midfield and against a team like Swansea you''re gonna be chasing shadows trying to win it back. We certainly looked more of a threat in the final third than recent games and created numerous chances to score. A draw was probably a fair result but feels like two dropped for me. Five home games since the turn of the year and only seven points, four home games against teams around us yielding only four points. This could prove to be costly come the end. Reading is a must win.
11. The atmosphere will be tense, the fans will be edgy and more frustrated as each pass goes astray, this will translate to the players who will struggle for rhythm, they''ll be no urgency or drive to try and get a goal, we''ll struggle to have a shot on target. Hughton will wait until the 78th minute to make any sort of change, and it will probably be like for like bearing no influence on how the team are performing. And then Swansea will nick one 10 minutes from the end resulting in Hughton finally changing the system somewhat by which time it will probably be too late as we slip further and further towards an inevitable relegation. Sad thing is I can see this happening
12. Easily the best footballing expereince of my life, I was in the away end at Poorman Road and the mayhem after each goal was unreal. Incredible night from an incredible month really up to the Pompey game.
13.

I see voting has started already. Only one standout name this year and that''s Bassong. Without him I honestly think we''d be bottom of the league and I''m serious.
Don''t think that really does justice to some other players. Michael Turner is a huge part of it too. Put Ryan Bennett alongside Bassong for the season and see how we do. Then of course there''s Snodgrass (even though he was poor yesterday), Johnson and two or three others.
Snodgrass and Johnson I''d agree but Bassong is the big influence at the back and brings the best out of Turner. Turner has played three league games without Bassong and we''ve conceded 5 goals in each.

15. Completely agree, biggest game of the season so far for me, a win and we''re almost safe in my eyes but defeat or even a draw and we really will be back in the mix. Results recently have gone in our favour but that won''t last forever. We need to go for it from the off with two up front and take the game to them. Simply have to be looking to win games like Fulham at home.
16. I couldn''t help getting excited by the rumours about van Winkle, Graham and Hooper etc but they were never going to happen were they. Kamara and Becchio hardly set my pulse racing. Both ageing and have zero experience in the PL plus an unspectacular current goalscoring record in each of their respective leagues. Not being negative, it''s a realistic opinion. We need better quality. Would love to be proved wrong though.
17. Just when I thought this board could sink no lower, this thread comes up. We''ve just beaten one of the biggest clubs in the world and yet people still find something to complain about, embarassing.
18. Well I''m not being pompous, I''m giving an opinion as to disagree with all this slating of the team, that''s unnecessary when you look at the bigger picture. It was one defensive error that cost us all day, apart from that one error, the back four missed nothing. There was some good approach play first half but it was let down by poor play in the final third. Second half we couldn''t have done much else in my opinion other than the poor finishing. Villa set their stall out after going down to ten men and it was the only good thing about their performance in that they defended well. We should have won but a point is always a point gained away from home in the Premier League plus we have two games that I feel we can both win coming up.
19. All this negativity is baffling. We were the better team by a mile today and should have won, that''s the only thing people should be complaining about, the fact that we should have won. People calling it an awful performance need to go and understand football a bit more. You do realise that when you play against ten men you have to become patient because the opposition just throw men behind the ball and this is exactly what we were second half and created numerous chances for that, the keeper has made two superb saves and the only credit we should give Villa is that they did defend well. Other than that I thought they were the poorest team I''ve seen this season. Sure the crossing could have been better at times especially first half, but this is the sort of thing to be constructive about and label as an improvement for future games, not to relentlessly scathe the team and label us as relegation certainties and call for Hughton out etc. We''ve gone two games unbeaten and are outside the bottom three with a winnable home game coming up.
20. In the run up to the Christmas period. H Arsenal Lose A Villa Draw H Stoke Win A Reading Draw H Man Utd Lose A Everton Lose A Southampton Draw H Sunderland Win A Swansea Lose H Wigan Win Might be a bit optimistic given our current form.
21. The whole end of season run in to 2010/11, to be part of history was something very special.
22. Frustrates me how Saints can afford to splash out £12 million on him and our highest buy of the summer was a quarter of that. Surely we can afford to go overboard just a tad to bring in the quality striker we needed.
23. Can''t share anyone''s optimism tbh. I feel pretty fed up. There is no guarantee whatsoever Holt will score enough goals this time, especially being 31. Moro looks disinterested at the moment and that''s now a big worry for me, Jackson has a great work rate but he''s not got the goals in him on a regular basis and as for Martin, he simply isn''t good enough. Then if we get injuries, then we will be f*cked. It is early days yet but it''s not looking good in my opinion. Just saying.
