1.
Why on earth would anyone want to go to Fulham away?
To give the team some support and backing in a what looks to be a crucial game perhaps. I''m going, it''s always a cracking atmosphere at Fulham. Even our fans should be able to make a bit of noise.
2. Sunderland (h) 1-0 Swansea (a) 0-2 West Brom (h) 1-1 Fulham (a) 1-0 Liverpool (h) 0-3 Chelsea (a) 0-4 Man Utd (a) 0-1 Arsenal (h) 0-1 36 points. Probably relegated
3. To take from this season so far? Howson when he was fit earlier in the season. Glimpses of Redmond''s star potential and Olsson are all I can think of. Probably the only clear cut positive is the fact we haven''t somehow slipped into the bottom three since November. Not yet anyway.
4. West Brom didn''t really turn up did they. That''s not to say they were "on the beach" I don''t believe in that saying . Given Steve Clarke''s post match words that day, they definitely were treating the game seriously. They just played poorly and we got a bit of luck with some of the goals. One of them things.
5. I''m aware this subject has been covered in previous threads but what is it with the atmosphere at Carrow Road this season? First half Saturday you''d have been more likely to get more passion from fans watching the Opera. I know it was ''only'' Stoke and the boring dross on show in the last year or so hasn''t been anything to get excited and noisy about but at the end of the day it works both ways. Players are more liable to perform better with a bit more passion, louder encouragement, singing etc in the stands. It''s all such a far cry from our Championship promotion winning season under Lambert when Carrow Road was arguably one of the loudest vibrant grounds in the division. I paticularly remember the home game against Burnley when we came back from 2-0 down to get a point in injury time. The noise and encouragement from the fans second half helped the team earn that point massively. You just wouldn''t get that sort of backing inside Carrow Road now.
6. Another huge two points thrown away against a team around us. A stupid pointless penalty given away out of absolutely nothing, there was nothing there for them second half and they were running out of ideas. We''ve tossed away 8 points since the start of Feb (maybe even 11 if you want to count Villa) and they are all down to our own failures. It''s asking for trouble. Feel so deflated, if i put my hand on my heart I think we will be relegated I''m afraid. We need 6 points against Sunderland and West Brom otherwise I fail to see how we cannot be relegated.
7. Thought it would be quite refreshing to put aside on/off field worries for the time being and debate your top 5 favourite NCFC players in your time. Mine bearing in mind I started supporting the club in 98 are... 5. Darren Eadie 4. Iwan Roberts 3. Grant Holt 2. Wes Hoolahan (despite recent events) 1. Darren Huckerby
8. Stoke (h) 1-1 or 0-0 Southampton (a) 0-3 Sunderland (h) 1-0 Swansea (a) 0-2 WBA (h) 1-1 Fulham (a) 3-1 (by law of averages) Would give us 36 points going into the dreaded final four. In the lap of the gods whether we stay up or not.
9. Massive game this. A draw would probably be okay but not 100% ideal, a win would obviously be amazing and a defeat pretty disastrous. I''m going West Ham 2-1 Norwich unfortunately. We always blow the next game after a great result. Hope I''m wrong though.
10. I made the point at the time. The referee today was poor I thought but you don''t expect anything different in this country now. They are all totally inept.
11. Simple Jack - You''re a f*cking tool mate.
12. I genuinely don''t think it''s a given Hughton will be here till the end of the season. Other managers have been sacked on many occasions after the transfer window. The problem is finding a suitable replacement who will come to us without the option of bringing his own players in, the last thing we want is a Wolves Terry Connor scenario. If we lose to West Ham (presuming we lose to Man City) then I think they''ll be no other option for the board but to send him on his way.
13. That game yesterday is the sort of game which relegates teams. I''m still not sure either way at the moment. I''ll bring this thread up again after the West Ham game. Think that game is massive.
14. Let''s face it the team have been pretty poor for most of this season for one reason or another but the fans haven''t been much better. Home and away there''s been practically zero atmosphere bar the odd 10-15 minutes here and there and even then it''s OTBC and Yellows back and forth. I know watching dire football doesn''t help but it works both ways at the end of the day. With a bit more passion, intimidation and encouragement from the fans instead of sitting on your fat a*ses moaning your head off non stop try getting behind the team and roaring them on and we might even start to play better. The incident with Snoddy the other night was the loudest I''ve heard that section all season. Carrow Road at the moment is a more intimidating prospect for our OWN players. Sums up our fanbase at the moment. I know I''m probably going to get slaughtered for this but I don''t care to be honest.
15. Doesn''t look like we made an offer. Obviously I can''t tell for certain but to me it''s looked pretty clear we haven''t been all out for a creative midfielder this window. You can tell by the lack of paper talk/serious rumours etc. We might have tried to get him who knows but I doubt it
16. Don''t rate any of Cardiff or Palace''s signings to be honest. Zaha maybe the only one I''d have been happy with. Fulham getting Holtby though is the one which angers me. If Fulham were interested in signing him, why weren''t we when it''s obvious he''s the sort of player we need?
17. I''d take Lambert back tommorow. Sorry not sorry
18. We urgently need a creative central midfielder in my opinion. That''s where we need to improve, not the defence. If we get an injury to one of the current centre backs then simply move Martin there and bring Whittaker back in at right back. Doesn''t even look like we''re looking at strengthening there unfortunately. Disappointing to say the least.
19. Was embarrassing to be honest. Some of the "fans" made absolute aRses of themselves. One bald bloke in particular in a blue jacket had to be restrained by a steward ffs. All because he said a few words back. Snoddy apologized for it anyway and the fans in that section applauded him for it so let''s move on and hope to god it never happens again.
20. The only hope we''re going to have against Man City is if they take us a bit easy as they tend to against other sides on occasions. Anyone realistically expecting anything out of that game though is living on a different planet. Can only see a maximum of three points from these four games though which probably wouldn''t be good or bad.
21. Thought we were okay today whilst being far from brillaint. I thought Hull were shocking to be honest. The better team won although we still didn''t create an awful lot. 25 shots and only 4 on target says it all. Tougher tests ahead and I still think Hughton needs to go. Genuinely look at the fixtures and struggle to see us winning any of the next 5/6 on current form. So it''s a huge result for now and the table looks a lot better tonight but still an awful lot to be concerned about.
22. RvW wouldn''t be tipped as being worth £15 million and linked with much bigger clubs than us less than a year ago if he was a bad player. He''s also consistently in the Dutch national squad. Criticism of RvW shows how fine the line is in Football. Take the Fulham cup game at home. He gets two attempts on goal saved brilliantly by the Keeper, if one of those sneaks past the keeper''s hand and into the bottom corner everyone would be hailing the rebirth of our new star. Same goes for Everton the other day, had that 30 yarder flew past Howard into the top corner. Everyone would be all over him. He clearly has quality and he is playing in a team short of ideas and belief at the moment and under a gutless negative manager. Genuinely feel the goal is just around the corner for him.
