I'll admit I don't go to away games these days. However I do still watch those games and would still say that Sara is by far the more impressive player. Take the many goals and assists out of it they're still relatively similar, versatile players.

I think he started and finished well. Dipped in the middle a little where he was clearly 'doing a job' for the team in the deeper role. McLean is getting it because he's the mad dog 20/20 tm mayor of Norwich and it's a lifetime achievement. Ironically I think he should have got it last year over Sara.

If Sara was British he'd have won it because he'd get a PASHUN bonus. Not to downplay Kenny's performances (top 4 for sure) but take him out and we adapt. Take Sara out and we're screwed.

Sara should point more.

His role is pretty all encompassing, overseeing all aspects of the academy and youth development. From getting young players into the building right through to transitioning them into the first team or selling/loaning them out (alongside the SD/loans manager) and everything in between. Big role to replace and one that is important for Knapper to get right. Wonder if this change is to do with Knapper wanting to change things or it's just his time to move on. Probably the latter based on comments from ZW in the article.

Ah, very good. Think I was basing that off the initial report of his contract extension. -

Only a year left on his contract so I think he goes below value. Although I guess Max Aarons went for around 7 and he's a few years older and a fullback. Guess it'll come down to if more than 1 club are interested. -
Kenny Mclean "is a monster"
KeiranShikari replied to hogesar's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I'd quite like to see a wider stats comparison between McLean and Sam Morsy considering how many scummers have been saying he should have been in team of the year. Apparently Kenny is better than him ad doing the thing Morsy is know for, -

That's a part of it I'm sure but there's more than 1 way to win the ball off an opponent. I don't know the model they're using but if they were measuring tackle success rate they'd probably call it 'tackle success rate'. Is this stuff something the every day fan needs to know? Absolutely not. Do some find it interesting. Yes. -

I mean, that's pretty much 99% of football clubs. I'd also add that the 'right offer' for one of our players seems to rise dramatically after the first big sale of a summer. If we don't get promoted I'd Imagine Rowe will be the one we'd find impossible to keep. I'd imagine we'd get around £10m. We'll also likely pick up a couple of okay fees for for Idah and Tzolis. Then a few big wages will be falling off (Gibson, Giannoulis, Baath) so I can't see us being desperate to sell. After that I'd struggle to see a club matching our valuation for players like Gunn, Sargent, Nunez or Sainz. Sara could attract a big offer but I'd think it would have to be a lot. All that being said we also have no idea how we're going to be managed financially going forward. With Attanasio's involvement growing who's to say there won't be a bit more budget for Knapper to retain some of our assets. -

This seems to be the fear every season from some. Then we only sell 1 or 2. -

Any time a player tries to get the ball off another player and the ball is on the ground. Our team presses quite a lot so should naturally be attempting a lot of them. -

DId it? I think the Premier League was just above his (and our entire team's) level and as soon as he was in the Championship he looked good. Had he not been shafted out onto the wing in half of the games he'd have been a 20+ goal striker last season.

No manager is willingly throwing away a player who's generally doing well for him and replacing him with a guy who has played about 200 minutes during the first half of the season. I doubt he'd be talking about the trimmed down squad as often if he was happy about it. It's of course logical for Knapper, who is thinking about Idah's potential value going forward. Or even thinking that a run of games in Scotland could be beneficial for him here going forward. Maybe there's more to it than that but I'd be shocked if Wagner wanted that move.
