Football is an art and Chris Hughton was our Rolf Harris (albeit minus the wandering hands and kiddie fiddling).

He needs to add a bit of nous to his forward play or he''ll end up one dimensional by always trying to cross or shoot. Still young and criticism is maybe harsh if the team isn''t aiming to play the ball on the floor.

I think Derby will be the bigger threat this season, so I''ll be hoping for Forest to win by say 1-0.

I don''t sheepishly follow the crowd like you do City1st. IIRC you started off as a Hughton supporter, despite the crap ''football'' and his poor previous record. You only turned when your position became an embarrassment.

Early days and remember we saw similar in the 10 game unbeaten run under Hughton. Until we start playing the Norwich way with the football on the deck, then I remain to be convinced. It may take time to do this, but I don''t see any evidence that this is something we''re even aiming for.

Instead of reinvesting the proceeds we''ve picked up various average players and had a flutter on a couple of youth players. For sheer Norwichness, you can''t beat a bit of Butterworth.

Last time we played a big side away we were found wanting, and Cardiff are something of a cut above Wolves. With a lot of new players still to bed in and a comparatively weaker squad I think we''ll be lucky to get anything.

Poor window overall, looks like we''re stuck with Grabban and Lafferty until at least January.

VOO looks like the pick of the signings but might take a while to adjust to Adams'' direct hoofball style.

Unless something happens at the last minute then it''s a case of waving the white flag with regards to getting promoted. It was vital that we strengthened, but we''ve ended up going backwards and repeating the mistakes of 2005.

First Callum Wilson, now Surman think that Bournemouth is a better bet than Norwich. Surman has obviously seen first hand how the club is run and wanted out.

He''s just a run of the mill championship striker who isn''t good enough for the premier league.

Not much evidence that we''re going to try playing the Norwich way. When the chips are down or we''re under pressure we resort to long balls up front rather than passing it on the deck. Instead of booing, the plastics cheer every hopeful punt upfield and remark on how exciting, adventureous and attacking our play is.Those who can remember what quality really is will be getting restless. But it won''t be until we miss out on the playoffs and our best players are sold off that the happy clappers and plastics to realise that this was yet another false dawn. Adams out.
