Hughton for one more year
Devils Advocate. replied to Localteam's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Why does it take us so long to get up and running ? We have now played 31 games out of 38 and only now are you pleased with the performance because we beat a fellow struggler. If we lose the next game, all of the "Hughton Out" cries will start again until we win again, if we do win again. Do we really need the thick end of a season to get it right ?, I thought that was what pre seasons were for. -
Surprised that he has not managed his beloved Sheffield Wednesday, yet ?. Sadly he stayed too long here and the final season spoilt it all.

Steve Clarke to be appointed by Tuesday
Devils Advocate. replied to Jed Yokel's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
He might look miserable, but just supposing he had the talent to keep us up ?. So many candidates are rejected for silly reasons ie Steve Bruce-looks like an old woman, Malky Mackay- because like Bryan Gunn he used to play for us, . I remember that Paul Lambert''s appointment did not exactly delight many here either. Managerial appointments are all luck, how many really work out well ? -
CH has told friends....
Devils Advocate. replied to Chippy Minton's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Well if that''s the case. why doesn''t he announce that he will be leaving at the end of the season , end the uncertainty and leave with his dignity intact ?. Peter Grant knew when his time was up and is better thought of. -
Their manager would be okay here.
Uwe Rosler, a name for the future and another chance we have missed.

Under the protection that being a Devils advocate gives me. May I suggest that we would be lucky to get Neil Lennon and I would be surprised if he even came here. It''s now or never. we wouldn''t be half as attractive if ( and when) we go down.
-
Would it be any worse than it is now ? Who knows it could be better? One day someone is going to get the job and at least he would be easier to sack !

What about Pardew?
Devils Advocate. replied to Viva Marc Libbra's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Swop anyone ? -
When it was revealed that the board did not fancy qualifying for the Europa League as it would cost more than it was worth. I wonder if secretly they have decided that it is not worth trying to remain a Premier league club?. We would slash the wage bill, the transfer fees would be lower, Parachute payments from Sky maybe even BT would help, Gate money would still flow in and a possible promotion campaign would be a hell of lot more attractive than a persistent battle against relegation ?

Would another 7 nil defeat shift him?
Devils Advocate. replied to Wiz's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
No, because it would not be a surprise at all. We have had a bad record against Man City since the 60''s so a defeat is no shock.. -
This may have already been posted but for those of us who wanted to part with Calderwood and Trollope the easy way as the new managerial duo at Northampton, will find that Chris Wilder has been given the job.http://www.leaguemanagers.com/news/news-7350.html

Some how or other even if we stay up this season do we keep Chris Hughton as manager and let him spend our budget for 2014-15 as he wants?

Lack of ambition or unattractive as a club?
Devils Advocate. replied to Juggy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I don''t suppose Chris Hughton''s selection policy and handling of Luc Becchio have helped at all. I wonder if CH actually attracts players at all, oh for the days when players were attracted to the club just because of the managers reputation. -
Well, that''s the way it appears to be doesn''t it. None of us know how well his signing will turn out, but it doesn''t seem to be the act of an ambitious and confident club that has faith in it''s managerial/ scouting staff anymore.
-
This is a genuine question, What message is being sent out by signing Jonas Guttierrez on LOAN, JG does not trust us to be club he wants to sign for full time ? CH does not thinks he is worth signing Full time ? The board will not sign one of CH''s recommendations Full Time as it doesn''t trust him anymore ? The board does not think that CH will be next seasons manager but lacks the courage to get rid of him now ?
-
Well, If he is now of Championship quality, he''ll be handy next season at the present rate. If used only as a sub, he might just pinch a few game winning goals and his qualities as a Captain should not be forgotten.
Cannot stand him. Unpleasant cretin. Please not here! If we do replace Hughton please please let''s do better than this.
Unpleasant cretin = Easier to sack when the time is right.

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/malky-mackay-celtic-park-watch-6460286 I wonder whether Malky Mackay is slightly interested in becoming Celtic manager one day ?. or was this visit just a consolation ?

Interesting to see this pop up out of nowhere
Devils Advocate. replied to Jim Smith's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
We are told that players from abroad take time to settle down to our game. How about managers and coaches from abroad with the added bonus of not being able to speak the same language as the team ?. Are British managers so bad that we have to look abroad ? -
Tim Sherwood.
Devils Advocate. replied to Devils Advocate.'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
These are all the type of answers that I would have expected. We wouldn''t have him but the papers seem to be behind him, must be because of his connections with Arry'', the journalists'' friend. No none seems to be mentioning Chris Hughton at all ?
