1. I would go with this team but with both full backs changed for Whittaker and Garrido
2. I thought that he was pathetic today as he has been for most of this season. A clear illustration of what is wrong with our club at the moment. Both him and Bassong should be nowhere near the captaincy of our club and on current performances nowhere near the starting 11 either. That probably goes for a few others too but I think these 2 should be leaders and clearly aren''t! Not sure where we go from here but bringing Turner and Whittaker back into the side would be a starting point. I''m not sure what Garrido has done wrong to warrant the way that he has been treated this season either, admittedly Olssen has done well at times but not consistently.
3. It''s not our league position that''s important but how many points we have which is influenced by how many games we win, which is controlled by the Manager, who picks the team and tactics and motivates his players, who is hired /fired by the Board. At the end of it all it''s only the Board that can get us out of this mess!!!!
4. Out. Lets not focus on who is out of work and go and nick Steve Bruce and pair him with Mike Phelan.
5.
I think Houghton should contact Steve Bruce and offer to swap Fer for Huddlestone!
I think McNally should contact the Hull Chairman and offer to swap Hughton for Bruce!
6. Was that the Drazen Muzenic Rotherham game - first match of the season early eighties and we lost about 4-1??
7. We seem to think that we are now an ''established'' Premier League side which I think is transferring to the atmosphere within the stadium. When we had to fight and scrap out of League 1 and the Championship, the crowd played their part by creating the atmosphere to help drag the team along with them, and vice versa. I just think now that we are becoming just like the rest of the so called Prem establishment in that we as the fans seem to think we just have to turn up and watch whatever is served up to us on the pitch and we seem to, particularly at home, expect to roll teams over without doing our bit. Just my thoughts anyway.
8. I forgot about Reeves and Fashanu but probably would still stick to Super Mac and Charlie up front
9. I was thinking today that a pairing of Mike Phelan and Steve Bruce could work. Bruce as the leader and Phelan to work with him using all of his SAF experience. Lets go do it!
10. How about Sami Hypia as another name in the hat. Seems to be doing a cracking job in Germany. Would probably relish a go in the English Prem to show what he can do and played in this league for a number of years with Liverpool.
11. Thought I would try to lighten the doom and gloom and get a bit nostalgic! Just in the middle of reading the Norwich City - The Seventies book which got me thinking about the best all 70''s Canaries team - here''s my thoughts, what are yours? Keelan Machin Stringer Forbes Sullivan Suggett McGuire Peters Paddon MacDougall Boyer
12. It would be a fair assumption that Calderwood and Trollope would also go. What about the likes of Ewen Chester and Dave Watson though? They both appear to be doing a good job but they are ''Hughton men''. Even Neil Adams may not be safe if a new regime was to come in.
13. At the moment anything is worth a try - doubt that Hughton will see it that way though!!
14. He was certainly watching us recently getting a stuffing at Old Trafford - he was on MUTV
15. Becchio is a good shout, but not sure that RVW will be fit, at least that was my assumption in my original selection.
16. Ruddy Whittaker Bennett Bassong Garrido Redmond Howson Fer Olsson Elmander Hooper This on the assumption that Pilks and Snoddy are ruled out.
17. In my original post I wasn''t necessarily saying that we should buy Lescott, or even that we would be able to if we wanted to. I was just highlighting that having watched him against Spurs and looking at his current situation at Man City that someone of his ilk is what we need at the back to shore us up. If these sort of players and their wages are always out of our league then we probably aren''t much longer for this league!
18. You''re probably right. The point I was making though is that I think that someone of that ilk is what we need at the moment,as much for leadership as his qualities as a defender. We really seem to be missing a leader at the back particularly without Bassong, I don''t think that Russell Martin is a particularly good leader either.
19. What''s the thinking about him and if he is what we need? Let''s just imagine that we can afford to bring him here, is he what would help move us forward next year?
20. Are we not now at a stage where we should be looking at the next level in players wages if we want to remain a Premiership side?
21. Watched Man City tear Spurs apart on the telly today and thought that Lescott looked like what we could do with to add some experience, leadership and stability to our defence. Is he a realistic option to try to get hold of in January or far too expensive on the wages front?
22. Where would Eric Gates fit into the set up?
23. I still think we could do with another right back. Only Russ and Whittaker (who has been a bit injury prone). Russell Martin may be seen as more of a centre back now. The Naughton rumours seem to have died off lately.
24.

As long as it isn''t Glen Hoddle (too old) or Greg Ham (Men at Work keyboardist/sax player) (wrong career for team player) I think we''ll be ok.
Geoff Hurst?   Or George Harrison maybe?
