1. I''ve been really impressed with him today, just got man of the match too... Would be a cheaper option than Kayal. May have upped his game in face of the premiership opposition today, but I really like the look of him.
2. Would love us to sign Wanyama! Quality player, not sure they''re going to part with anyone on the cheap with the extra Champions League money though? Interesting to see what develops from this...
3. Logistically UWE is completely different to UEA, it''s in the middle of nowhere with lots of land around the campus, which was bought by the university when it was cheap and is now being sold to developers for a vast amount of profit. I''m not sure how much you know about the UWE/Bristol Rovers deal but I believe the new car parking agreement is allowing the university to sell it''s largest car parks to developers again for a large amount of profit while also getting the benefits of a £40 million pound first class facility.
4. I have to admit Europe has thrown up some gems you just need to look at Michu, Tettey and the success Newcastle enjoyed last season (to an extent Arsenal over the years as well) but for every success there are flops that effect the club negatively. Personally I feel going for players in this current window to take the place of first team players that are currently playing well doesn''t seem to send the right message. From recent memory I remember Blackpool and Hull dipping into the European market at this stage to sign some unknown players to keep them in the league and all it did was derail their previous good work/disrupt the squad and the rest is history. Although on the flipside direct competition might do the players a world of good and improve performances, it''s a delicate predicament.Buying British doesn''t come with it''s own risk Liverpool being an example, I guess this where the scouting department come into their own. Minus Hughes I do think the three other players mentioned would be available at reasonable prices (3m mark) and despite being very young I think they could do a job for us for the rest of season while gaining experience to take us forward next season.
5. Everyone seems in favour of the continental route after the success of Garrido and Tettey, but do we really need to cast our net as far with potential players on our doorstep?Nathan Redmond - 18 - Birmingham City   Can play on both wings, very quick and a good dribbler... possibly lacking the final ball but definitely has the potential to improve. Would increase the competition of places on the wings and ultimately improve the squad. With Birmingham''s now well publicised financial difficulties and Chris Hughton''s links to the club he may be available at a respectable price.Max Clayton - 18 - Crewe   Fast, Pacey striker in the Michael Owen mould, hasn''t quite done the business this year but showing enough potential that he can develop in to a top striker. Definitely see him as the player to replace Simeon (if he leaves) in the squad. Apparently available for 2-3m like Powell but maybe a bit too steep to warrant a squad player with potential, more likely to end up in a top 6 teams reserve squad. I think he could improve us and we could offer him more playing time than some of the bigger clubs.Connor Wickham - 19 - Sunderland   Big, powerful striker with a bit of pace. The ex-binner hasn''t really lived up to expectations at Sunderland but then not many players have, been a bit part player for most of his time there but still looking back at his time at Ipswich he has the potential to be a good player. Not really sure if he would be available, depends on who they bring in during the January window. Really see him as an ideal replacement for Moro at this stage but with his potential and Grant as an ideal person to learn the game off he could develop into a quality player and perhaps THE player to fill Holty''s boots eventually. Will Hughes - 17 - Derby   Creative and technically sound attacking midfielder with that special touch of flair, really looks like the stand out young player in the football league at the moment along with Zaha. Seems able to play in the middle in the Hoolahan role or out wide to drift in to space and link the midfield, at the moment Fulham seem to be heading the queue for his signature... are we in a position to be able to compete with them at the moment? Maybe, maybe not. Definitely looks like a star for the future.I admit this all seems very FM/FIFA... but are we in a position now where we can compete for these kind of players, bed them in to our squad and develop them? The last few windows have seen us look for promising young players that can come in and compete with the first 11 without the pressure of first team football week in week out. So I''d be very happy to continue that tradition and avoid us spending extravagantly on players that might demand first team football and disrupt our current team.
6. Completely agree with Evesham Canary, I do feel it would be a good approach (and one that has worked quite well in the past) to add a couple of young players with promise. Players that could compete for a place in the first 11 but maybe not quite the finished article in terms on relying on them week in week out. My wish list with that in mind would be...1) Nathan Redmond; capable of filling the 4th winger position that seems to be missing for our squad. Young, fast and exciting. 2) Max Clayton; doing really well at Crewe, lighting fast and a real goal poacher. Again very young but potentially out of reach due to bigger clubs interest?
7. One player I''m surprised we haven''t been linked with considering the Hughton/Birmingham link... Nathan Redmond, looked like a real prospect last year under Hughton but this year I haven''t really seen much of him? Not sure if he''s injured or just doesn''t fit into what Lee wants to do. Certainly think he could add competition and compliment the three wingers we have in the squad. Maybe a little out of our price range perhaps, would be unfortunate as I think he could be a cracking player and add another bit of quality to our team.Redmond, Graham and Garrido on a permanent would be a very successful window in my opinion.
8. With the brilliant start to the season comes a new pressure from the fans, certainly from my point of view I''m expecting alot more from the players than I was at the start of the season when I though a 15th-10th place finish would have been a successful season. So I was wondering wether or not other fans believe the hightened pressure will raise the players game or will the raised expectations damage the their ability to play with the freedom they seem have at the moment?
9. To be honest I would be more interested in Jay McEveley always thought he was a decent player. Would provide much needed competition for Drury at left back and more than ample back-up if he lost abit of form or got injured.
10. Yeh but he is another young hungry player, hasn''t been playing League football for long and certainly looks like he has the attributes to do well with abit of coaching.... To me he seems like a player Lambert is looking for young and hungry, for me I think he would be worth the risk.
11. Thinking slighty ahead in respect of squad building in the summer I wanted to see what people thought of Antonio as a possible signing? Scored a good goal yesterday and his contract at Reading expires in the summer so would be available for a minimal fee. Personally a natural right footed winger is perhaps something our squad lacks and would enable us to use a different formation to the diamond, he also has that long throw that Southampton seem to have taken advantage off this season.... so what are peoples thoughts?
12. Its just a thought but with Notts County being taken over and with it their ambitions of climbing the football league ladder quickly put on hold is there a chance we could sign young Kasper? Highly rated young keeper and with their High Court date soon are they in a position to turn down a reasonable offer? It just seems with our number 1 spot seeminly up for grabs next season I wonder if he is a player we could bring in if we got promoted or would he be out of reach and go to a club with more money and higher division? Thought I''d see what peoples thoughts were on it....
13. 100% agree with Eadie''s Left, Huck''s Right, Iwan Head, for someone that is proven at this level and could potentially make the step up to the championship it seems like a very good price and a more adequent replacement for Chris Martin if he were to leave in the summer.
14.  Although it looks like we will be signing Russell Martin in January on a permanent. One player in the right back position that has impressed me in our games against them was Carlisle''s Richard Keogh.... I think he had abit of a shocker last weekend though.  Obviously we lack a natural right winger too so Adomah seems ths logical choice with his contract up in the summer, I feel he will probably go to a Championship club though in January. The left back Billy Jones at Crewe is a similar situation too where we might be able to pick him up on the cheap. Other than that Lee Barnard at Southend is scoring regulary as is a threat to most League One defences and maybe Championship ones too, definitely a stand out League One player and not to sure how finacially stable Southend are atm so could be worth a bid perhaps?   I think the major problem is any quality players in both League One & Two aren''t as cheap as we think if they are on long contracts and we will have to compete for them with a multiple amount of clubs both top League One and Lower Championship.
15. It''s on Football Manager 09 so it must be true! pahahaha Classic!
16. Personally I think olej is making quite a valid point admittedly he may have put his point across incorrectly but the message it something I would have to agree with. How many times do we groan in mass numbers when a pass goes astray, a chance goes begging or we concede? If we are gona have any chance on Sunday we as a crowd will have a massive impact on the outcome, if we cheer the team for the full 90 minutes no matter what is happening on the pitch on Sunday that gives us an edge and sometimes that bit extra the players give when the crowd is behind them is important.
17.
What do you expect having the introduction of women officials.
In fairness she was the best official by far yesterday, not one single mistake.
18. The linesman flagged for offside not for a foul, my mate spotted the flag straight away.
19. I have to agree with A1 not sure there was much Marshall could do, It was a quality ball into an area where any keeper would struggle to have got anything on it. Have to admit at the time it did look a blatant foul but seeing it again I''m not so sure, but you do see them given. What was more frustrating was the the handball decision because from where we were sitting it looked so blantant and we were no further away from the incident than the referee who had a perfect view.
20.    Another one off the Crewe Alexandra production line but seems to have gone stale abit there since making his debut a few years ago, He''s also just been shipped off to Lincoln I understand after a bust up with Crewe''s Manager. On his day he can really influence a game with his tough tackling, work rate and goals something our midfield desperately lacks.    A very talented player who''s future seems to be away from Crewe after reading their managers comments and looks like being available for around £100-300k, I think he definitely someone who could improve us next season and being 21 represents a good investment (especially if Sammy leaves in the summer). Someone to keep an eye on.
21.    Though I''ve been very optimistic about staying in the Championship this season in the past I think the majority will agree the result and performance today coupled with results elsewhere means we face an almost impossible task to gain enough points to stay up (unless some kind of miracle occurs of course). So I think the time has come to write off this season and build for next, and even though I''ve watched them a number of times this season and haven''t been impressed the majority of the time it has to be time to give some of the academy lads more chances in the 1st team.    The worrying thing for me is that when I have watched them most don''t look like they could make the step up to championship level but with little or no pressure on them at the moment because of our expectations that we will be relegated could it be the perfect time to introduce them? I mean the only way they will become better players is if they gain experience from playing 1st team football regularly and considering some of them will have too become more prominent players for us next season could this be the best time for them to try find their feet in competitive 1st team games instead of next season when we will need to start strongly?     Could a few strong performances from players brought through our own academy in our final handful of games be a silver lining for you in a disastrous season? Could seeing a number of names in the starting line up that have come through the academy galvanize the crowd at Carrow Road and create an atmosphere where we can get behind some home grown players that wont feel under intense pressure and because of it produce some signs of footballing ability and intelliegence that we can try to enjoy for the rest of the season?    Or is it too early to be playing them instead of players that might be able to keep us up but leave next season if we ultimately fail and get relegated?
22.
Is it just me or is £26 to sit in an open air (golf course style) stand at Blackpool absolutely ridiculous. How come it is us that always have to pay this sort of price, earlier in season we went to Forest and were charged £26/27 yet last week I looked in Prestons programme and their supporters were being charged £20 to go there. Someone is taking the p*ss
Preston V Blackpool is a big derby game for both clubs so the only thing I can suggest is that there is some kind of gentlemans agreement between the two clubs for cheaper tickets for away fans at both of their stadiums. But even £20 seems alot of money to go to their stadium.
23. Bristol City have won 5 of their last 6 league games so its gona be a tough game tommorow, I''m going for another draw 2-2.
24. Exactly!!! Because he''s not good enough to be in the 1st team as he wasn''t before hand.
25. What a game!!! Come On You Yellows!!!
