Rays funds for FONCY with the Pink un Pickers
Big Slob replied to nutty nigel's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Hello I''ve finally come up with my 6 selections for the weekend. In the end I decided to choose 6 that weren''t the most obvious of choices, to try and win a bit more for the academy. My original pics were going to be Chelsea, Man Utd, Huddersfield, Rangers, Ajax and Benfica. I had a little play on William Hill website and the return was about 30 quid inc stake, now i know Billy would have been a bit more generous, but even so, i thought i could do better. So i had another look on here at everybodies picks, and had a play on the website, and came out with 6 picks that i feel still have a great chance of winning, but will win more than double my initial picks, so here they are...Chelsea v West Brom - Home winHuddersfield v Tranmere - Home winStandard Liege v Lokeren - Home winFenerbache v Antalyaspor - Home winBenfica v Academica - Home winBrondby v Esbjerg - Home winThanks again to everyone who left a selection, i can promise you i considered each and everyone, and researched them all on form, and last seasons standings. Wish me luck -

One more thing... I see Davo picked Rosenborg to beat Molde. I maybe wrong but from what I''m seeing Rosenborg are playing a team called Start in the Norwegian cup this weekend -

Thanks to everybody who has picked so far. Especially those that went for more of a risk to provide me with more options, much appreciated. I have decided on about 4 of my 6 selections, I''m still trying to decide whether to go for the 6 safest picks or 1 or 2 more risk bets, to try and get some more money. I will post my final 6 later this afternoon, thanks again. -

What a shambles againts Watford !
Big Slob replied to Bogbrush's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I thought you made some very fair points Bogbrush. Trouble is that the old guard on here don''t like the unpalatable truth when it concerns their hero Lambert. As for Gunn getting the club relegated that''s been well covered on here in the past but of course Gunn was not responsible for our relegation to the old 3rd division - he took over in the January with little time left in the transfer window and no money to spend and a few months to reverse the club''s fortunes with a bunch of loanees and a few contract players none of whom were committed to the club. The underlying corrosive rot at the club had set in long before Gunn took over as manager and tried to save a sinking ship. Only the most simplistic and one-dimensional minds would pin the blame on Gunn. Lambert himself has openly stated that he inherited from Gunn a great group of players - and by the way, thank God Gunn bought Holt, where would Lambert''s team be without him I wonder. Unlike Gunn, Lambert has had the luxury of a full year in charge. Given the time and the money he has had to spend, I for one have severe reservations as to whether Lambert can step up and make the grade in the Championship. As a Norwich supporter I hope he does but Bogbrush was right to highlight his concerns over our dire defence, a less than convincing midfield and an even less than convincing attack when Holt is absent. As for last night, I am delighted that following a poor start by the team they managed a 4-1 win at home against 1st division Gillingham and made the scoreline pretty emphatic with a 90th minute 4th goal. The win compared fairly well with last year''s thumping 4-0 away win at Yeovil when of course Norwich were in the same division as Yeovil.
Speechless. [:O] -

Thankyou very much Nutty for letting me do this. I really hope i can win some money for the Academy and for us all. If it''s ok with you i''ll choose my final 6 and leave them with you on friday evening. My pick for the weekend will be Huddersfield to beat TranmereThanks again, and thanks in advance to everyone who helps me with a pick. -

I think Surman is to much of an attacking player to play in that position, and not good enough defensively.
-
Boyo - Maybe, maybe not it''s impossible to tell. But i think we have to play Hoolahan in our team. Last season when he got injured towards the end of the season, the team was just not the same, we lacked any skill, imagination and variety in most games Hoolahan missed. He got injured in the match against Tranmere, and in subsequent matches we weren''t the same side. Hoolahan is our most talented player and needs to play if we are going to do well this season. Just look at the quotes from managers last season about him.
