1. Although a good player as a manager I dont really think he has done much. Ok he done well to get Sunderland up from bottom when he tookover but the fact is they already had a good squad just a clueless manager in Niall Quinn and he then spends another 11 Million. Now even the likes of Rodent and Grant could get a team up with all that money spent. he then spends 45 Million in the first season and they narrowly avoid relegation and another 15 Million yet they are still close to the drop now. So he spent about 70 Million in two years and yet they have been fighting relegation while teams such as West Ham, Wigan and Everton spend no where near this much money yet have had a very good season and in Evertons case have been consistently finishing in the top 6. I can already see what will happen here. Magilton has spent £12 Million already and I really cant see Evans giving that much money to Keane to Keane will just throw his toys out of the pram as he always does and after losing a few games he will just walk out straight away
2. On sky sports news there saying that there very getting close to stopping taking bets on Roy Keane to become manager
3. We really should avoid him even if he will be free. As people say on here is wages are very high. Watford for some unknown reason wasted £3.5 Million on him and in the two seasons since them for both Derby and Watford he has only scored about nine goals.
4. On sky sports news one of the Ipswich fans texted in saying they should get Roberto Mancini as manager!
5. I know they will have to move season ticket holders to move seats but I was watching goals from charlton cardiff and in thay stand facing the camera(west stand i believe) there looked like there were only 10 or so people sitting in a few of the blocks. Surely they cant just move these few people somewhere else and give us more tickets
6. If Coventry dont win this then were basically down im afraid!
7. Luckily I applied and got the Charlton tickets but I think you have been badly treated. To tell you one thing and then do another is wrong unfortunately there is not really too much they can do. Reading this article they have put on the official website I am amazed that there is not a single mention about tickets no longer going on sale on the wednesday. Another point. They sold 2500 after the initial application period stopped. Surely 500 more people wouldnt have applied once the deadline for applications had passed. Also surely if they say they are not taking applications after the date of the watford game they shouldnt take any more applications! I have to say they have angered me in recent weeks over the Ipswich tickets. The applications process itself was a bit of a farce in my opinion. Me and my friends have been to about 5-6 away games each we applied for ipswich tickets yet i know people who have not been to any away games this season who managed to get tickets ahead of us. Further to my anger I then hear they are selling family area tickets to anyone who comes into the ticket office. Surely they should call people who were unsuccsful in applications first to see if they want tickets!
8. Its amazing issnt it how a few years ago everyone was banging on about what a well run club they are but looking at it our lot have probably done a better job than them and thats saying something. I dont really understand how they have got themselves in so much debt especially with them still getting parachute payments and £16M for Darren Bent.
9. Im block k in the Jimmy Seed stand. Would sort of like to know where it is in the stand as im guessing for once we will have to sit in the seats given as it is sold out but ofcourse Charlton havvnt bothered to label the areas for the jimmy seed stand on their website!
10. I personally would have a go at buying them yourself. Im just guessing but I would think they would sell them to you. There bit wont be sold out and they know they can make a bit of money by selling us tickets and there shouldnt be much trouble between us and their supporters as their issnt really much of a rivalry
11.
Have just spoken to the ticket office - there will be no Charlton tickets available for general sale on 22nd as all have been taken by late received postal applications. Charlton have been asked for extra tickets and have refused. So for the several thousand of us who have missed out, those of you who get to go better make some b****y noise!!
Can you not just sit in the home end. I have read quite a few people are planning to do this. Im sure Charlton fans will not really be to bothered as we havvnt really got much of a rivalry with them and stewards will probably be ok about it
12. Although I still think there support is pretty bad they will still be in the championship next season which may not be the case for us. Although for anyone who got the matchday programme yesterday page 7 is very amusing with the club trying to accuse the media of getting season ticket figures and attendance figures wrong and Ipswich have ofcourse come up with their own figures which are alot better looking than those printed in the paper. And i mean if we do go down to league one next season which is look a very good possibility now then we will have at least 19,000 supporters for most home games to really back the team and it will be a tough season but a big crowd can really help to roar the team on.
13. Just got back from the game today and this really was just such an awful day. The result was obviously awful. Plus sitting amongst the scummers in the greene king stand was also unbearable at times. First half was not too bad but second half they outplayed us. But their penalty was not a penalty and surely if it was a penalty Marshall should have been sent off? Talking of Marshall his kicking was pretty dire. I think Bertrand was one of our best players. Just seen third goal and what on earth our defence were doing for that I do not know. Really I really am not too optomistic about our chances of staying up and I think only two wins will do the trick. The journey back was also awful as they had a signal problem in Stowmarket and had to wait in Ipswich till 4:30 to go and therefore I missed the 5 o clock train to lowestoft and had to wait two hours in norwich!
14. I am going to give them some support as without them tit really would all kinck off at the derbies. I do think they should have arrested a few Ipswich fans as I know a coin got thrown at someone near me and then they seemed to be holding us back instead of dealing with them.
15.
No. Charlton are gone and we are just little old Naarwich
yeh I totally agree with you. I know reading are playing Birmingham on the last day and to be honest this will probably be meaningless as Reading will be in playoffs and Birmingham should be up yet i bet they will still show this instead of our game. I wouldnt be suprised if southampton vs forest will get shown ahead of our game. Lets face it sky never show us on telly so what chance is there of them showing us twice in the week as the reading game is obviously a few days before
16. Well although it was pretty much a certainty already Charlton are already down. Southampton are 3 points off safety aswell now so they are in alot of trouble. We are onl1 point off safety but obviously Barnsley have that game in hand against coventry who really are looking like they are on holiday already. This really does mean that we need to win tomorrow so things can still be in our own hands. A draw wont really be much good but a loss and that really will make things difficult
17. Correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure that its now about a fortnight since they delayed the decision. Does it really take them two weeks to look throught all these accounts? I have to say I wouldnt be suprised if the league are sitting there trying to decide which option would cause the least hassle. Deduct them the points and of course Southampton are going to appeal it and that one will drag it on even longer. But then not deducting them the points will probably put them in an even more stickier situation as firstly the teams who went down instead of them will be appealing not deducting points and it will probably be a repeat of the West Ham/Sheffield United saga. And teams are going to be wanting compensation. Also Leeds and Luton will be on their cases in a flash if they dont deduct them points
18. How many players have we actually got who were around back then? I believe Shacks, Doc and Drury are the only ones still here.
19. I have to say its good to see all this confidence as many people are often very negative on this messageboard. I have to say I think we might just be able to sneak a win. I think it will be a really good game of football though lets just hope we are on the winning side. Celebrations wise it depends what time of the game it is. Cos lets face it their gonna chuck you out if you celebrate in the home end so if its an early goal will have to keep quite but if its a goal near the end I will probably celebrate and get out of there asap. I think getting an early goal would be good for us. As I think if we can take the lead then the imbreds will start to get more impatient and get on Magilton and the teams back. Adding to that although ensuring we save up is the most important thing getting Magilton the sack would also please me enormously!
20. Well they have taken the money from my account so should be coming soon
21. Well me and my mate managed to get tickets in the end. I believe we are in the cobbold stand which one of my friends who supports the scum tells me its just full of families and old people (Well apart from the Norwich bit). Have to say seems like a lot of people seem to be sitting in the home area. One question does have to be begged though why could they not give us more seats for? They still havvnt sold out for the game and I doubt they will. Even if it was in another part of the ground could they not have given us about a 1000 more seats. There clearly were not enough seats to go round for our fans and cos of this they are now going to have to contend with alot of away fans in the home area. Oh well though its there fault just acting like the stupid imbreds they are
22.
Just seen the culture secretary get ripped to bits by the Anfield crowd. Signing justice for the 96 well and truly shut him up, and showed that those families and the football world as a whole in many ways will not let the police etc. etc. get away with this. I wasn''t born when the tragedy unfolded, but in the last few days I''ve found out about the whole thing and watching this memorial on Sky News has really touched me. R.I.P. 96, You''ll Never Walk Alone.
Im in the same boat as you. Wassnt alive back then but have seen in the last few days what a terrible disaster this is. I was reading the other day that the cause of the deaths is accidental death but I dont know how that is at all. I have to say i moan alot these days about the police at football but the policing at that Sheffield Wednesday game sounded appaling. Why that exit gate was opened really puzzles me and also maybe if they would have let a few more ambulances on the pitch they would have saved a few more lives
23. Well to be honest with you Lowestoft is in Suffolk and i tried explaining that to them but they said they couldnt sell em to me. yeh i got asked if i had been before and i said no. Yeh unfortunately on this occasion i dont really know anyone who lives in ipswich although my dads friend used to live there and we are trying to see if we might be able to get the tickets posted to one of his mates who lives in ipswich  I dont suppose they gave you a customer number so i could buy em with that? See if it was on the telly i would be happy to watch it but for a match like this their is not way i am going to listen to it on the radio
24. How did you manage to get em? I tried to get em online but diddnt have a customer number so had to get em by phone. They wouldnt sell my friend one cos he lived in norwich. I live in Lowestoft yet they stil wouldnt sell me one as it is a norwich postcode! Diddnt realise they make it tht difficult to buy tickets!!!
