  1. Its a while since I last posted so let me say how much I''m enjoying Carrow Road at present, and thank Paul Lambert and David McNally for taking the club from the four years of misery under the likes of Roeder, to the promise and optimism of the present day club. Overall we have a very strong team and they are a pleasure to watch, always giving a 100% effort and playing for the club and fans. My only concern with Barnett being injured is the form of Elliot Ward who is so inconsistent, and it appears from this forum that an increasing number are coming to the conclusion that he is a weak link in an otherwise solid team. Zak Whitbread doesn''t inspire 100% confidence but has put in some solid performances of late, and if he can avoid injury should do well for us. I understand the generosity in Lambert letting Nelson go, but would prefer his solidity in central defence to the erratic performances of Ward. I appreciate we have to trust Lambert to bring in a worthy replacement for Barnett, and I''m sure he will do so next week. In the mean time lets hope for a point (or even three) at Elland Road today, and an exciting finish to the season. OTBC!!
  2. I''ve purchased a ticket for the cup replay tomorrow to ensure I have the opportunity to join in any chants directed at Roeder and the board with the intention of encouraging their rapid departure from our beloved club. I hope those attending feel the same and there will be plenty of negative and noisy chants making our feelings known. Are there any plans to meet before or after the game to have a peaceful but noisy protest?? Keep the pressure up on Roeder and the mute board!!!
  3. Great performance against Ipswich and then back to normal for the next two away games. Its great playing good football against Watford and Reading but the only fact that counts is that we didn''t win and therefore no points achieved! If any of the teams below us start to perform then we will be deeper in the relegation mire than we already are. Our current plight requires wins or at the very least draws, and I don''t mind how we achieve them, playing ugly or whatever. So please Neil Adams, Glen Roeder and pals stop harping on about how well we played and how unlucky we were to lose. Focus on the facts (which don''t lie) and get some consistency leading to hopefully positive outcomes.
  4. Totally agree. IF we lose then what better high profile occasion than the home derby with lots of TV and press coverage to make public our discontent with the current manager and board? Just to ''hope'' things get better is a pathetic suggestion; time to protest peacefully but using our voices for a change to make our feelings and frustrations known; who cares what Ipswich fans think?
  5. I think if (or when) Ipswich beat us on Sunday it will be the last straw for many fans; hopefully Roeder will do the decent thing and step down and the Board will sell up!
  6. Excellent letter - email it to the pinkun & EDP - it says what we all are thinking. This board of us has so much to answer for in bringing the club to its knees via Grant & Roeder; what a bunch of losers!!!
  7. No matter how much people drivel on about missed chances and poor refereeing decisions the only statistic that really matters is that we lost and are now precariously 4th from bottom in the championship. When we lose to Ipswich next Sunday the board will take decisive action and resign en masse, taking our excuse for a manager with them.....and pigs might fly!
  8. As I keep on saying: No ambition, no flair, no money (where has it all gone?), no leadership, no atmosphere, no action, and soon.....no championship football.
  9. Lets hope so, but as we know no one at the club has the bottle to take positive action!!
  10. Excellent post and sums up the feelings of most supporters. We are a ghost club drifting towards obscurity and we''re just letting it happen. I''ve been watching and supporting Norwich since my first game as a nine year old in 1960. Now there are no players to identify with, there is no manager with character and charisma, and we have a board who are total amateurs, playing with the club and the loyalties of fans. Its time to call it a day; I won''t be renewing my season ticket!
  11. NCFC was like a morgue last night, except for a few ''boos'' at the end of each half and some cheering and chanting after the goal. Makes you think how much further we can sink, and how much more of this dross the fans can take. The reality of the situation is slowly beginning to dawn on the ''Keep Delia & Roeder brigade'', whilst the status quo is maintained the only place the club are going is down. This club desperately needs a lift at all levels; any ideas before we really do reach the point of no return?????
  12. Good post - at NCFC last night it was like a morgue, and that was down to Roeder, the very poor team on the pitch, and worse still the acceptance apparently of the vast majority of fans that the dross being served up on a regular basis is acceptable and the norm for years to come. Accept for a few ''boos'' after each half there was just silent resignation. What a sad state of affairs for our club!
  13. Michael Callum should either make a finacial bid or keep out of the headlines; he appears to be good at talking but taking action for the club he apparently cares for so much appears to be an issue.
  14. Roeder''s behaviour and attitude towards the fans becomes more bizarre and arrogant as each day passes, and the siege mentality really takes grip both of the board and ''he that must be obeyed''. Why does the EDP give this man news space? We the fans are not, according to Roeder, living in the real world, and, this is really funny, those complaining at the current dross being served up on a regular basis, are in the minority. Could it be that ice cold Roeder is beginning to crack after a series of recent public gaffs, a string of mediocre to poor performances and results, and the gradual realisation that the concerns of fans are not going away, and every effort will be made to bring about change to start moving our club in the right direction. Wake up Roeder and smell the coffee; you have irreversibly lost the support of the majority of fans, and your days at Carrow Road are numbered.
  15. For those who have any doubts about just how bad things have got at our beloved Norwich City FC can I suggest you sit down and watch the DVD ''Worthy Champions! - Season Review 2003 - 2004''. At the end of that season Norwich stood on the brink of what could have been an extended and illustrious stay in the Premiership, but due to a complete and utter lack of ambition by the board we were instead guided towards four years of steady degeneration and mediocrity. In 2004 we had a team of permanent signings who gave 100% home and away, appreciated and related positively to their supporters, and collectively achieved levels of defence and attack that our current excuse for a team can only dream about. The likes of Huckerby, Svensson, Roberts and McKenzie scored goals for fun, and were ably supported by a midfield and defence who also knew where the goal was. I am so pleased to have witnessed the 2003-2004 season, and the immense enjoyment of both players and fans during the celebrations that rightly followed. That season''s spirit is now missing both on the pitch and the terraces, and instead we have a team consisting mainly of loan players, whose playing abilities are at best average, and whose commitment is questionable. Change at all levels of management within the club is not only desirable, but essential if we are to avoid mid - table mediocrity, or worse still relegation to Division 1.
  16. Most people accept that the problems at NCFC are from the combined impact of a manager with no personality, tactical awareness, or man management skills, a board who took Delia''s promise to be ''humble'' in the premiership too literally to the extent that we have become very humbled indeed, a chief executive who shows as much disdain and contempt for the fans as Roeder does, and a hard core of fans who bury their heads in the sand and put blind faith in the belief that everything will come good in the end if we (year after year) just weather the storm and keep paying good money for absolute rubbish. Hope I''m proved wrong but some of the posters on this board need to wake up to the fact that in any other business such incompetency as shown over the past four years by the so called ''managers'' of this club would have resulted in dismissal long before now. Norwich city fans have shown incredible patience and have endured absolute dross for too long; we''re on the way to Division 1 if drastic action isn''t taken now, so whats to be lost by making it clear changes are needed and must happen sooner rather than later?
  17. Good idea - better than just whinging on here or doing nothing and therefore condoning the travesty that is the Norwich Board, Glen Roeder and Neil Doncaster. We''re sinking without a trace so lets take some positive action. How about agreeing a course of action and those that feel passionately enough to back you do so without hesitation.
  18. Just expressing an opinion IBA; try not to get too excited you''ll give yourself a hernia. Obviously you''re very happy with the current situation and thats fine; the board deserves your support; now go and take a chill pill...you''ll soon feel better!
  19. Why was it neccessary for Delia to wait for the AGM to share the ''truth'' about the Callum situation? NCFC is worse than the KGB when it comes to keeping fans informed of what is actually going on in the club! Fear of jeopardising imaginary takeover deals is absolute rubbish; when Ipswich Town found a benefactor there was plenty of publicity, which was all pretty galling to us NCFC fans. If Callam was a true NCFC fan he would cut across all the rubbish going on at the club and make a deal happen. I appreciate this may be a naive statement but if he has in excess of a billion pounds such a takeover would be chickenfeed in the grand scheme of things. I want change throughout the club, and there is no doubt in my mind that the recent exodus of board members, physios, marketing, and coaching staff is a direct result of their discomfort and disatisfaction about how things are being ''managed'' at the club. My guess is if you speak out at the club you''re rapidly shown the door! How many managers can you think of who treat the fans (and shareholders) with such arrogance and disdain? Wouldn''t it be great if the EDP and Pinkun offered Callum and other key figures recently departed the opportunity to once and for all give a clear and frank (honest) statement detailing what has actually been taking place over the past few months. My guess is this would make the board very twitchy. Only a few years ago we dared to dream of the Premiership and supporting a club with ambition. Delia''s promise that NCFC would be ''humble'' in the Premiership has been taken too literally, and we have now become severely humbled, to the ongoing embarrassment of all fans. As to the way forward there are plenty of suggestions to be found on this board. Some are pie in the sky whilst some are more realistic. I think the local press have a part to play, but appear to be reticent in seeking answers to difficult and perhaps uncomfortable questions. We need to seek the truth behing our current demise, and only then will we have a true picture of where to go from here. I do know that fans should be involved and consulted with, and more importantly given hope! If there is a knight in shining armour out there, and they happen to read these postings, then step forward now and become an instant Norwich hero!
  20. Well done Sid - if possible PLEASE try to get over the disappointment of fans with the current depressing situation at the club - Thanks!
  21. No one wants to make the current dire situation worse for NCFC, particularly those of us who genuinely love the club and have supported them for many years but.....it is obvious that many on this site have reached the end of the line and it is time for some positive action rather than just repeatedly recording our frustrations on this website. Is it beyond the realms of possibility for those who feel strongly enough to exchange email addresses or contact numbers and arrange a meeting to form an action group to talk through possible strategies for communicating our concerns directly to the club. Such a group could make their opinions known through the local press, and might gain enough membership and momentum to make a real difference. This might all sound wildly optimistic and unreal, but surely its better than doing nothing, except for venting our frustrations through these mails. Anyone interested, or are we happy to let things drift on as before?
  22. Excellent letter and good luck for a positive response. Trouble is the NCFC board and management seem to be oblivious or immune to the mounting anger of fans as they drift towards division 1 obscurity, a drift that has gone on for the past four years and is gaining serious momentum. Look at the crowd attendances of Saturday''s championship games, and some of those in the Premiership! How come clubs regularly attracting crowds of only 13,000 appear to not have the financial concerns or constraints that we have, and yet assemble (and attract) players who are permanent signings, and managers who man manage effectively, have charisma, and have good tactical awareness and coaching ability. I think there is a hugh scam being played out at NCFC, and the fans are the victims. The club rely on the mild mannered and co - operative fans to continue to put up with the dross served up each week, and so the saga continues. The sooner the fans make their true feeling known on a consistent basis, the sooner the deadwood can be removed and (hopefully) the recovery backed by investment cab begin. Sorry to rant on, and hope you get the refund so richly deserved.
  23. Like many other Norwich City supporters I''m finding that the anticipation of attending a home game, coupled with the journey to Carrow Road, the banter with fellow season ticket holders, and listening to the calls of disgruntled fans to Neil Adams on the way home, is far more interesting than the actual game! The demise of NCFC began the minute we were promoted to the Premier League, when the board showed their true lack of ambition and financial intent by sanctioning the purchase of a succession of ''has beens'' who ably supported Nigel Worthington in guiding the club rapidly back to the Championship. Since this time we have patiently endured the arrival and departure of a succession of below average managers, coaches, and players, whilst at the same time selling the few decent players we had in order to throw even more money down that black hole that is officially described by the club as ''prudent investment and expenditure''. In any other form of business the incompetent board members responsible for the mediocrity fans have had to endure at Norwich City for the past four years would rapidly be moved on, but in the world of football these individuals appear to be a protected species, oblivious and immune to the feelings of fans, and the long - term damage they are doing to the club. Make no mistake our club is in a dire situation, which has been allowed to develop over the past four years to the stage where an immediate and fairly drastic response is required. In my opinion the priority should be to find a major investor who is willing to purchase the club for a realistic amount, and if this means Delia and co stepping aside then so be it; there is no room for cosy sentiment in our current situation, and the board have clearly lost the plot. The next priority should be to appoint a manager with charisma, good man management and people skills (who can relate to the press and loyal fans with warmth rather than disdain), good knowledge of the game coupled with proven coaching skills, and with the vision to unite the club and give the fans optimism for the future. I find it amazing that 24,000 plus fans tolerate the rubbish served up by NCFC week after week, and blindly believe that some how, better times are just around the corner! Like me they must be fed up with players being interviewed each week and trotting out the usual ''starting with the next game we''re going to turn this around'' rubbish, and the manager bemoaning the fact that ''once more we missed a succession of easy chances, and were unlucky to come away with nothing''. Statistics in the league tables don''t lie, and if you peruse those applying to Norwich over the past four seasons they tell a sorry story of mismanagement at all levels of the club. If the fan base continue to tolerate this mediocrity the outcome is inevitable. Sorry to have run on for so long, but having supported Norwich for 48 years through good and bad times I am keen to discuss and join with other fans in bringing about the changes required to bring about positive change. See you at Carrow Road on Tuesday!
