1.

He was and probably still is a good keeper. I wish him luck too.
Comparatively, I suppose ;) But seriously, coming from a keeper(ish) myself, he''s not a very good keeper.
It''s all relative isn''t it. We saw him at least 23 times in a season and he made some errors which he got slated for. He was decent on crosses and made some excellent saves. Being a keeper yourself you will know better than most that confidence in your back four and coping with the crowds reactions play a big part in determining your form. Playing for us last season or probably the last few seasons can''t have been easy.
 2.
To be fair im sick of being annoyed with Norwich city, wouldnt it actually be nice turning up to games, not  worrying about Gunns ability to move us forward and the tactically awareness of a rabit on the main road!  or Delia''s lack of money and her instants''s on staying! I still feel he has made some good signings, but i hope he has what it takes to manage his players.....! I would raher see Gunn getting it right then not,but i wont be holding me breath to long. Roll on the good times! A happy canary this morning!
"To be fair I''m sick of being annoyed with Norwich City". So am I and have had enough of it and will just take each game as it comes and enjoy the games (so long as we don''t lose 7-1). Not too hopeful (there I go again). Will be pragmatic from now on. No moaning, which is better for the health anyway.
 3. Am sure Croft would have got some terrible reviews from a lot of our supporters, so take it with a pinch of salt. It''s just one supporters opinion and there will no doubt be those PNE fans who disagree with him.

 5.
What is it with this ignorant ''fans are all martyrs and can do no wrong'' mentality? I honestly don''t understand what some of you are after. You''re holding up as heroes a couple of idiots who ran on to the pitch on Saturday, demanding that the club show complete mercy and don''t ban them thus leaving the door open for any other numpty who sees fit to do the same, and slagging off a player for responding to childish behaviour by giving you the bird. Even complaining to the Chief Exec (who obviously has nothing else to do) that he did so. Last week I got told that Delia had given a ''tart'' reply to a question - some of the questions were rather on the tart side but that doesn''t matter does it? No, we''re the fans and we''re holier than thou! It''s pathetic. What extreme should this be taken to? What if Wes had complained about the people who were offering up the verbals and no doubt including a few gestures of their own? Bloody hell, no wonder society is going down the drain. Some think they can do and say whatever they want at any given time - either online or in the street - and it doesn''t matter because they''re "fans". Yet they''ll take offence at less dished out to them. There''s some serious growing up needed around here.
Well said and counselling for abusive fans is probably just around the corner.
 6.

FFS... SOURCE?????
It is true. I complained to the club via the C/E and have received a response.
If it is true and you did complain then you are a pathetic individual.
 7. I feel really sorry for the poor supporters who confronted him and having to cope with the two-fingered gesture he made at them. They will no doubt receive counselling , which one hopes will be provided by the club. There is too much of this sort of thing going on nowadays, Hoolahan should be fined at least 1 momths wages and the traumatised supporters given free tickets to future City games ( when they have recovered from their ordeal of course).
 8.
I am "scuttling off" to Yeovil soon, but let me try to say some of the things I would have liked to have said when I was sworn at on Saturday. I plead guilty to having been "booted and suited" and having accepted a kind invitation to be Delia and Michael''s guests at the game. I had already bought tickets when I got the invitation, so I gave my tickets to my son. After the game, my wife and I popped out briefly to see our son. I was sworn at and my instinct was to have a "discussion". My wife (a city fan long before we met, incidentally) urged me to keep walking and I think, in retrospect that she was right. It would not have been possible to have a reasoned discussion when we were all so upset and angry. As I have said in today''s Express, I can cope with being sworn at, but I don''t think my wife needed to hear it. As for the central charge in these posts (that I lack objectivity), well, I certainly accept that knowing Delia and Michael reasonably well colours my view of what they have done. I agree as well that, when you look into the eyes of the manager''s family and see the hurt it is impossible not to feel empathy and sympathy. But I also understand that the club is at its lowest footballing ebb for 49 years and has just suffered its worst ever home defeat. At last night''s agm of the Capital Canaries (I''ve been a member for 30 years), Delia and Michael accepted that they have made mistakes and that they endorsed mistakes by managers. But my views are coloured by two other things. The first is that I cannot and will not boo Norwich. I think that damages the thing I care about. I think it makes it more likely, not less, that things will get worse. Some of you disagree, but at least don''t discount my right to have a view on that. Secondly, for 34 years I have been a sports journalist and in that time I have been able to get close to a lot of people in football and to have privileged access to the inner workings of lots of football clubs -- good and bad. I have never, never, never met any owners who care more, work harder or give a higher proportion of their own money to a club than Delia and Michael. I am proud that they might consider me their friend. I do not apologise for it. Some of you want to drive them out and so will never agree with me, just as I will never agree with you. I expect to be abused on this forum and to my face. I make a living from expressing opinions, so can''t complain when people make it clear how they feel about me. But allow me to make one last point: Charlie Catchpole, who is mentioned in this thread, is a friend of mine. He worked at the EDP before me and we were employees of Murdoch together in the 80s. We disagree about some aspects of NCFC, but we are able to put aside those differences when we meet because each of us accepts that the other cares passionately about the club. If any of you are at Yeovil tonight, or Brentford next week, perhaps we can have a discussion on the same basis. OTBC
Although I disagree with much of what you say with regard to East Anglian football, the verbal abuse that you have received, especially in the presence of your family, is pathetic. There are however those supporters who think they have a right to behave as they please with regard to giving out abuse to people. I would never boo players either. So some common ground.
 9.
Theo had a poor game. But you are right that he wasn''t at fault for all the goals. The biggest thing that worried me is he looked unsure.
It''s no wonder he looked unsure with that lot in front of him.
 10.
The way some are talking he was at fault for everything we did...........  I watched the highlights on canariesworld numerous times and this is my opinion............ (1) He was somewhat at fault for the first goal but the horrific backpass put him in real trouble where he was left in no mans land knowing he couldn''t catch the ball. Its a rare sitaution for keepers because most defenders have a brain bigger than a pea and don''t try and lob the ball back to a keeper who can''t catch it. Semi may have the physical attributes for the Prem but he doesnt have the footballing brain for local Sunday morning football. (2) The commentary suggested he could have done better on lisbies shot......... Having watched it again it wasn''t a bad save, maybe he could have held it but the fact is our defence were turned inside out and no where when platt followed up. Not sure how this was that terrible. He might have done a bit better but the shot was not exactly straight at him. (3) This goal was more horrific defending......... keeper had no chance from point blank range. (4) This was a fantastic free kick. Bad defending gave it away. Keeper had no chance. (5) Again terrible defending from the the throw. The header was point blank range, not sure what he could do. Watch this goal carefully and watch how Platt leaves Semi who just watches the whole thing like he doesn''t care. Unreal. (6) A Goss type volley that gave the keeper no chance, not sure how anyone could blame him for this? (7) More horrific defending/missed tackles forced him to come into no mans land, not sure how its his fault so many people in front of him were so unbelieveably bad.   Again after watching all the goals carefully I don''t get why Theoklitos is getting so much stick.............. Did he have a good game......... of course not.........but I don''t think he deserves a lot of the blame which was clearly down to horrific defending.
Don''t understand it either and most of criticism comes from his performance on first two goals. After that he had little chance with any and to say he is the worst goalie ever seen is just plain daft.
 11.

some people on here jump on everything. CLEARLY he is not laughing as he thinks it''s funny, he''s shocked and dismayed. People do that in those sort of situations... i.e shaking their head and laughing in disbelief... ''but i don''t understand...'' Come on people... i am sure you''ve all got more to you than that. It was the worst performance i have ever witnessed by a goalkeeper but lets not try have a go at someone from a radio interview... he''s laughing in embaressment that''s all.
your right... i`m becoming one of the people i despise on here  who look for something to moan about in everything  ..  i  just expect him to be a  bit sombre thats all  but  people deal with things in different ways i suppose ..its not as though anybody died  is it..i need to get a grip  [:D]
I think to be fair most supporters are still coming out of shock and we also do that in different ways and at different rates.
They have all got to pick themselves up and each is going to do that in his own way. As you say he is laughing in embarassment. However wouldn''t say it was worse performance I have ever seen from a goalkeeper, it wasn''t good though.
 13.
"It was the toughest game I have ever been involved with in my career, it was one you want to forget quite quickly" Now that is worrying. That was Colchester Utd we played on Saturday - not bloody Chelsea, or even Leeds or Huddersfield. If he thought that was ''tough'' I am seriously concerned about his credentials as a ''keeper.
He wouldn''t have meant that Colchester were a tough proposition just that the way the game developed made it a tough game to play in.
 14.
Norwich keeper Michael Theoklitos has admitted his debut for the Canaries was his worst ever performance. The Australian conceded five goals within the opening 38 minutes as Colchester United won 7-1. The 28-year-old was jeered by some Norwich supporters as they slipped to a record home defeat. "It''s the worst performance I''ve had in my career, I want to apologise to the fans on behalf of myself and the team," Theoklitos told BBC Radio Norfolk. "It was the toughest game I have ever been involved with in my career, it was one you want to forget quite quickly. "We have been doing well in pre-season and dish that out in front of our home supporters was really disappointing, it wasn''t good enough," said Theoklitos. Norwich manager Gunn, a former goalkeeper himself, has backed Theoklitos to bounce back from his horrendous debut. "Michael is a strong character, that''s one of the reasons we brought him to the club," said Gunn. "We need to asses him to make sure everything physically and mentally is right and I am sure if he was put down on the teamsheet [at Yeovil in the Carling Cup on Tuesday] he''d be the first to try and make up for individual errors made on Saturday." Theoklitos''s position in the starting line-up could come under pressure from Ben Alnwick, who is on loan to the Canaries from Tottenham. Teenager Declan Rudd is also waiting in the wings. Does anyone else agree with me that he just had a really bad peformance and got a bit unlucky and that doesnt mean he should get dropped? He needs to prove to himself, the team and the fans that he isnt that bad and improve his confidence...
We have just signed him on a contract so he must be given chance to rectify and he wasn''t the only one that was poor.
 15.
At about 6.30pm on Saturday I heard Darren Eadie on Talksport with Jason Cundy and Andy Goldstein. Eadie said the problem with our team now is "Bryan Gunn has bought league 1 players, therefore we are a league 1 team". I agreed with this point. You need a mix of League 1 players, but also a good few players who could quite easily cope at Championship level. I can''t remember his exact words, but Eadie didn''t seem too happy with Bryan Gunn. He did say something about Gunn''s half time team talk being a waste of time as it didn''t do any good at all.
Your first paragraph referring to what DE said re; Div 1 players is really worrying. We have never had this sort of player at club before except for outstanding ones such as Clingan. Fear that players like Croft. Fotheringham, Marshall and Russell will be sorely missed. Let''s hope Hoolahan stays. There was adebate over whether Gill was better than Russell, all I will say is Burnley would not want Gill.
 16.

I''ve not heard of a club sacking their manager one game in to the new season...
Or even after 30 minutes like the two heroes wanted him to be. Although the game was an unmitigated disaster it is 1 game so let''s see how team performs over next few weeks.
Yer why not wait till January till we are so far in  the brown stuff leaving it to late to stop the slide and then put another Delia yes man in who also bleeds yellow and green blood and bows to her every whim. or do we demand changes at the end of August, But this is wht we get when we have a board room full of no ambition, close eyes and pretend it has''nt happened. League 2 next season
Just give it a few matches. We''ll have no choice anyway because he won''t be sacked this week. I didn''t want BG appointed and didn''t think he would be a success  but after the pre-season performances, (which produced good results and changed a lot of fans'' opinions to positive) and certainly made me think again. I am now not sure whether the squad of players are good enough or so far as BG is concerned whether he is just useless or that result was just a massive blip. We need a few more matches to just see what happens. That result was such a shock, totally out of the blue, considering what has been going on over last few weeks.
 17.

the booing and shouting at the keeper were in the n&p end at about 12 minutes they started shouting at him saying he was rubbish.
Sorry, you sit in the N&P.  I cannot take anything further you say seriously.    Shouting at that goalkeeper and telling him he was rubbish?    How very dare they. Sort your username out also.
so i sit in the N&P oh god, that must mean iam not allowed an opinion, iam so sorry i just didn''t know that. and i wont sort my username out i dont want huckerby back at this club, because he is over the hill, doggy kneed player, i would rather see younger talent brought in like ady, cody and other youngsters from are youth team.
The N&P comment was tongue in cheek. I understand what you are saying about not wanting Huckerby back but that excuse your username.   He was a legend whether he plays for us again or not.   You are just showing yourself up now.
Hucks is a legend and I for one wish he were back here. From what he has said in USA recently he will continue playing after season finishes in November if he feels he can do himself justice. If not he will retire from playing.
 18.

I''ve not heard of a club sacking their manager one game in to the new season...
Steve Coppell , Man city, 1994... if it wasnty the first game it was the first 3.... look it up. jas :)
He quit.  Look it up.
i thought they gave him the push.. just before Swailes sold the club to Francis Lee. jas ::)
No he resigned and a Press Conference was called where he stated that it was due to his health.
 19.
Well that''s great isn''t it. Hound by far our best player out of the club. As angry and upset as we all are, did they not think he was too? Now we will surely lose him and I don''t blame him. For Gods sake people.
They would not think would they or certainly not realise the consequences of their actions.
 20.
We all gave the squad a chance on saturday if they made a wrong pass or wrong header in the first 10 minutes but after the result can you imagine what the atmosphere is going to be like at our next home game? Everyone is going to be shouting, moaning, groaning if a single pass goes astray. if we get a draw there will still be boos. I just hope the new players dont get de-moralised and perform like this for the rest of the season for the club''s sake! Btw, doherty should never play again!
3 away matches before that and will all depend on those results.
 21. Don''t think Burnley would be interested in buying Gill.
 22.
He is a quality player, but can not be played left win anymore, not in a 4 man midfield. How many times was Drury stranded 2 v 1 yesterday, or had no pass down the line when he had the ball? Must keep Wes though!Ever since he came here he has always wandered inside from LW, so needs to be played behind a front man and accomodated in centre of midfield. It is a problem but up to manager to solve it.
 23.

I honestly saw a different player to most of you yesterday... I thought Wes was one of the few players who made himself available for the ball throughout the 90. He was having a crappy time of it, no one was picking up his runs and no one was moving for him to make passes. I''ve never seen the ball go backwards and sideways so often in one game but Wes did make runs - almost all of which were ignored.
I saw the same as you did. If we lose him it really will be goodbye. There were many fans not bothered about losing Croft, Fotheringham, Lee and some not minding Russell leaving, wish they were all here now as I believe them all to be better than what we have. Add Pattison to that lot as well.
Oh, then there was Marshall who many thought was useless. Wish he was still here.

 25.
I actually think bar Theoklitos and Semmy we have a squad good enough to do well. It''s how they''re managed thats the issue. Obviously you can only play one of Docherty and Nelson rather than playing them together.
It worrired me that  some Colchester players looked more comfortable on the ball than any of ours except for Hoolahan.
