1.
Ah the plastic army is out in full force. I wonder where they were against Doncaster!! How''s cousin Mungo doing???
2.
I don''t swallow this "real fan" shite anymore. We come in all shapes and sizes.   As a teenager I was incapable of missing one second of the Carrow Road action, real games, reserve games, friendly games. I pitched my tent in the car park for convenience.   We move on, we age .......  dur, dur, dur. The good, the bad and the ugly of priorities raise their heads at regular intervals.    Nowadays I plan all the logistics of going to a game (mostly in the London area now unfortunately) to the n''th degree and it is no longer a case of blind adherence to the cause as far as I am concerned. I''ve done my bit and now weigh up the pros and cons on the day. Streams induce absence to be honest.   IMO supporting the Canaries should be a pleasure, not a penance and I intend keeping it that way. Therefore I am now longer a true supporter in the eyes of some. So what?
Spot on!  As far as I am concerned there is no such thing as a ''true'' supporter, only a supporter - and that can vary from someone who can struggle financially or for wahtever reason to see no more than one game a season to someone who can see every conceivable Norwich game.  It also doesn''t exclude those that for whatever reason (health, finance, distance etc etc) that can only follow City via TV or radio - if they support Norwich then they support Norwich!
 3.

To those saying you''re only there to see Norwich play. Yes, but if you have a choice would you rather watch Norwich beat Man.U or Norwich beat Doncaster? I support Norwich and only Norwich, and don''t care what league were in or who we are playing. But if I had a choice, i''d choose Premiership so we could go up against the best teams and beat them. The chance to beat Man.U is much more appealing than Scunthorpe...
Thanks Ginge, exactly what I was going to say - you''ve summed it up perfectly. [Y]
Now I''m not too certain about that.  I think I must be of the Nutty Nigel persuasion in that I go to watch Norwich and I get as excited about that whoever we are playing, be it away at a non-league Paulton Rovers in the FA Cup or at home to Inter and Bayern in the UEFA Cup.  Given the dross we were served up following our last relegation from the Premier League, I was far happier watching us stuff Scunthorpe in League 1 as I had been watching the end of season disgraces at Fulham and Charlton.  Man U are Man U FFS and on our day we are as capable of beating them as we are Donny and Scunny.
 4. Please excuse me bumping this and keeping it in the frame a bit longer. [Y]
 5.
If it is implemented in the german way as in the previous photo with every person having a seat with a number so hooligans can be identified, and also a barrier in front and behind then I have absolutely no problem with it. In fact it would appear safer in future to design all the ground seating in this way.
Totally agree Paul.  Looks a great solution.
 6.
Because we beat Celtic, does that mean we are better than Barcelona??
Logical deduction Holmes! [B]
 7. Blimey, if you are touting JC to come back to us you have a very selective memory of ''barn door'' and his last stint here!
 8.
Just to be clear my sister and Brother-in-Law have season tickets in this part of the Jarrold and they knew from when they first purchased them when the stand first opened that they could be moved for cup games.
Have always thought that those sitting in the areas likely to be affected were well aware of this before they purchased their season tickets.  Certainly deserve to be moved because they obviously had no faith that we would ever have a decent cup run!!!!! ........ joke
 9. Thanks guys - would have put this on ''other football'' but thought it deserved a wider audience - anyway, bound to be at least half our squad involved in the World Cup when it comes around!!!!
 10. Can only agree with what has been said on here already - Ruddy is turning into a class act (something predicted when we signed him by those who knew better than the average fan) and been very impressed with Whittaker''s first couple of performances.
 11. Dear All   Please find below details of the Qatar World Cup Workers Rights Campaign. Having looked at the website, it is alarming to read the predictions for the number of deaths during construction of the footballing venues. I have signed the petition and hope you will consider it too. Please forward to anyone else you think will be ouraged at the appalling conditions these workers are expected to work in for the sake of football.   INTERNATIONAL TRADE UNION CONFEDERATION ITUC announces top five countries to sign up to Qatar World Cup Workers Rights Campaign Target of 20,000 campaign “fans” to fill virtual football stadium Brussels, 25 October 2012 (ITUC OnLine):  Nearly 1,000 fans from over 100 countries have joined the global campaign “Qatar: Do the right thing. No World Cup without workers’ rights” in just four weeks. Sharan Burrow, ITUC General Secretary, said “Qatar still intends to build the 2022 World Cup on modern slavery of migrant workers.  The government doesn’t seem to care about the slew of media reports on how workers are paying with their lives and livelihoods in the rush to build the stadiums with cheap and exploited labour.  Even FIFA’s call on Qatar to respect labour standards has been ignored, so now we need people across the globe show Qatar that the world means business when we demand an end to slavery.” Next week Sharan Burrow will announce the latest campaign leader-board at the annual ITUC General Council to union representatives from more than 50 countries. This weeks’ top five has Japan leading with 86 campaign fans, followed by Korea (71), Pakistan (55), Belgium (52) and Sweden (49), with a total of nearly 1000 fans from over 100 countries. The ITUC is calling on all its affiliates to engage union members and their communities in the online campaign   http://act.equaltimes.org/en/fillastadium <http://act.equaltimes.org/en/fillastadium>    run by http://www.equaltimes.org/ <http://www.equaltimes.org/> . “The ITUC is receiving new reports every day from migrant workers asking for help to get Qatari employers to pay them the wages they owe, to help them get back to their home countries when their bosses refuse to give their passports back, and to fix highly dangerous workplaces. “Families in places like Nepal and the Philippines are desperate to find out the truth about how loved ones have died in Qatar.  By engaging in the Equal Times campaign, every individual can help put the pressure on Qatar’s rulers by telling them that there can be no World Cup without workers’ rights,” said Ms. Burrow. The ITUC represents 175 million workers in 308 affiliated national organisations from 153 countries and territories. 13. Think of Wes more as a jumping jack skipping all over the pitch in exciting bursts.
 14.
Perhaps some of us have more interesting things to do after games, Student Grant, than run back to our bedrooms and tell the world we''ve just got Wayne Biggins'' autograph ...
What like interfering with farmyard animals MB???
 15.

City1st wrote the following post at 04/11/2012 2:39 AM: "It is amazing really how fickle as fans a lot of us are" or how ''gullible'' some fans on here are None no more so than you! In the league and Spurs aside due to the vast smountbif chsnges by both teams, we havebeaten Arsenal, who cannot buy a win, drawn with a very very mediocre Villa, and beaten a dire Stoke City. After Reading we have Man Utd and then Everton so anyone who thinks we are safe and on the up must think again, yes we have had a couple of positive results and some improvement, but the finishing line is some way off yet!
I agree with most of that, however Villa managed an away win at Sunderland so Lambert may be getting it right. The main thing is that we are improving from some extremely dire results. When we beat a top team that is in form then we can afford to feel smug, but until then I will remain very wary, as you do. As long as Hughton is getting an average point a game, I''m happy.  Lose to Reading though and it will surely be a wake up call for the happy clappers.  [:D]
And I thought you were a glass half full sort of person.......[:D]
 16.
It''s quite funny you are accusing others of lying about attending games Mungo. Slightly odd how you couldn''t post this straight away, you had to wait for someone to post something for you to pick up on and have a go. Of course I was there with all my posh Uni chums, we went out for pimms and champagne to celebrate afterwards.
Huzzah GP....I also imbibed in my favourite tipple after the game a ''pint of twos''  (Absinthe and Fat Cat Bitter)
 17. Very very tired format - had been out for the evening, got home turned TV on....and luckily our match about to start.  Watched it, cringed at pundits and immediately turned over to watch ITV''s FA Cup highlights. Somethings gotta change!
 18.
Good format, good approach, they concentrate on the positives. We''re up first.
Where''s this????

 20.
I''m going to bite on this debate - at the risk of accusations of fair weather fan.  I could not have gone to the Spurs game - but  I could have come to the Stoke game today.   The main problem?  Cost. The casual supporter - or super member or whatever you want to call them - can usually go to certain games through cost.    Even if I lived back in Norwich - if I couldn''t get a season ticket, I would be paying perhaps £45  a game.   If I went to all home games that would cost me in the region of £850 for  the season just for tickets. So whether you are a casual supporter who lives close or far away you have to choose your games.   I managed to get to 15 games last season, home and away.    As far as games at Carrow Rd are concerned - I went to the Stoke game  last season - cost £45 for the ticket.   It was an interesting game because it was early in our premiership experience.      This season - the premiership novelty has worn off and Stoke no longer seems a big enough deal (plus the A grading!) to warrant spending the travel money  (for me £120) + the £50 ticket.     If I lived closer,  say 100 miles - it would still be costing £30-£40 on travel on top of the ticket, not so much, but still around £100 to watch a match.   I will still get to around 15 games this season - but I think what season ticket holders have is something precious - they have their cheap ticket and guarranteed seat at every league match.   The rest of us - who are classed as casual -  pay a lot more on average to see one match than your average season ticket holder.    I am aware that there will be season ticket holders who travel 100 or more miles each week to see the club,  but on the whole the scenario is true  - season ticket holder means cheaper football than casual ticket buyer.    I''m not saying that is wrong, far from it, all I am saying is that  the demand for casual tickets will never be so great  that it will warrant building a lot of new seats.   Certainly not at the moment.  If the club built in 4000 new seats - imo most of those would have to go to new season ticket holders - and the question I suppose then is - how many more prospective season ticket holders are out there?
Dear LDC Can I suggest that you might like to go and see the mighty Ebbsfleet dump Carlisle out of the Cup?
 21.
Did I mention "disabled kids"? Perhaps being wracked with guilt for not going to the game has impaired your ability to read?
Well it seemed fairly obvious to me which previous poster you were having a go at!! Never mind, just hide behind your keyboard!!!
 22.

And remember its not just a matter of ticket receipts - the bigger the crowd the more money generated by food/drink/programme/Golden Goal ticket sales etc etc.
But also, presumably, on staffing costs to cater for those extra 10,000 people, to clear up after them etc. Personally, I think £25 would have been fair last night, but I don''t think £30 was an outrage. It''s getting the balance right. I read somewhere that the club don''t actually budget for cup run games (which makes sense as obviously you can''t predict how far you''ll go). So whilst obviously any additional money in is always a good thing, if it hasn''t been taken into then you''re not really ''losing out'' if you sell tickets cheaper.  Especially as it''s ''only'' the league cup, I think there certainly is an argument for cheaper kids tickets. It''s not like 15 years ago when I was a young child and my Dad could take me to pretty much any game we wanted, turn up on the day and get a ticket. Nowadays, I imagine there are plenty of young children whose parents either can''t afford to get them into games, or simply can''t find the tickets to get them there because we sell out. League cup games, where the money isn''t a massive part of the budget probably can, and should, be games to bring in young kids. Personally, I''m not fussed about adult prices. McNally said the money in wasn''t that much difference last night between a £30 a ticket, and a £20 a ticket sell out. Someone said about not being able to afford a whole week''s shopping on a game, but even if it was only £20 (which would have been too cheap in my opinion) it''s still two thirds of a week of shopping, so that''s less to do with our pricing structure and more to do simply with the cost of an additional mid week game. That can''t be helped by the club. I''d be very surprised if you''d ever have sold out last night - a mid week League Cup game against a "big" side who most people would have expected to have played youngsters and reserve team players? I''d have been very surprised to have gotten more than 20,000 fans last night. So if the prices had have been £25 we''d have probably been making an extra 5 or 10k at most in my opinion.  For me, with the next round being Villa, I''d be tempted to stick at £30 BUT then have a cheaper Under 16 price of, say, £15. That''d mean I don''t think we''d be ''losing'' a lot more than we got last night, but we''d probably have an extra couple of thousand in the stands.
And who would ever anticipated us getting four consequetive home draws in a cup competition!!!!! [:D]
 23.
Well, well, well, well, well. Those true fans who bothered to turn up last night were rewarded with a rousing finale. Step forward Master Bunn, our new hero. Pity so few "fans" witnessed your heroics. And now to the next round, a mouth-watering re-aquaintance with the evil Lambert... I have a suggestion for the club - those who can show ticket stubs for the Donny, Scunny and Spursy games get a free ticket! Or entrance for a token ammount. I''d like to suggest that all season ticket holders who didn''t attend - and yes the club can identify you because when you brought a ticket, for whatever seat, it will have been recorded against your customer number - should be BANNED from this game or charged £100 for their seat. Now Mr McNasty has come over all remorseful, I don''t suppose he''ll go for these options. My guess is that on the evening of the next round the good season ticket holders of Norwich will suddenly find their calendars free from organising bonfire parties for orphans, speech therapy sessions for dolphins or protests against the general unfairness of having to actually pay to watch a competitive cup game andthe fairweathers will take their places in the stands again. Mungo
Christ you are a sad excuse for a human being if you are criticising someone who didn''t attend becaause he regularly organises a party for disabled kids...why don''t you just do one or maybe you would rather explain your position in person to those who couldn''t attend for a variety of good reasons....no guess not eh!
