Anybody with this club at heart would stay away untill that witch has gone , all you are doing is helping her ruin the club , but the are you not really an Arsenal fan first and foremost ?
Grow up.
ah LQ but didn''t you start the bickering by having a pop at City Angel? That was deliberately provocative wasn''t it? So perhaps it is you that should grow up a bit?
ps - I am very pleased we got a result at Yeovil, makes a change not going out in the first round, but I would swap it for 3 points in a heartbeat, and we still have all the same problems we had before kick off

 5.

I can assure the chase riots were not pretty. Even though i dont want to see anything like that again, it really is going down a similar route towards what could be a very nasty and violent protest. I just cant believe what is happening to this great football club, it really is very upsetting. Fvck the restaurants and dinner evening''s, I want my football club back. OTBC
They were hardly riots... on the whole peaceful demonstrations against something which had been going wrong for a pretty long time (not as bad as what we have had to put up with under Delia though) against the backdrop of overhand policing given that the then ring road needed clearing.  Well the police will not have that excuse this time will they???
I also remember people standing near the ground and the old bridge and asking opinions of people, simple yes/no answers, gauging how people felt.  Might give any organisers more of an idea of how fans feel overall. This sort of thing can take months to organise, and a fair bit of money for posters, leaflets etc.  It''s not something that happens overnight as both you and I know Smudge.
You''re right WAY. I am not in favour of a mob mentality type protest ala the way the Chase Out one finished up, as a/ I got a smack in the mouth last time and b/ I don''t want to see fellow fans being charged at by mounted police like last time. Delia is a celebrity and thrives on popularity I believe. If you want her to go then you need to make her aware that she is now unpopular with the majority of the fans (if that is the case), and that her time is well and truly up. (missed a trick there Capital Canaries). But this doesn''t have to be by rioting. I said last year, every fan that wants Delia to go, chip in with some cash for a full page advert in one of the national papers, half a page ad may even do it. Simply saying thanks Delia but if you really care about NCFC then it''s time to go. I didn''t trust the club with my rebate, but haven''t cashed the cheque yet. I would happily put the £70 towards an advert in the papers or similar. Another easy way to start a campaign, if every fan that wants a change of owner writes a letter to Delia c/o the club every day, then it will do a lot to make her aware of the current mood, and it will cost you 30p a day, less than the price of a cup of coffee. And if she starts getting sacks of mail, then it will make news headlines. And you will at least be doing something.
 6.

It''s bizarre, what other club would do something like that? The only thing he should have got was his P45.
Graham, imo both you and Delia only got it half right. He should have got a hug and his P45.
100% right YC [Y]
 7.

But Jim, they do NOT have to stay on the Board JUST becuase they own the shares. I have said this time and time again recently. I have no problem with them trying to get their money back if that is what they are aiming for, after all they have contributed significantly over the years. It has NEVER been a ''money'' thing with me as far as Smith is concerned. They have been neither ''prudent'' nor ''ambitious'' but instead have fallen bewteen the two with their incompetence. Couple this with her appalling lack of objective knowledge on football and her massive ego and you have a recipe for disaster. Sure they may have embraced and promoted the ''openness'' with the fans and I applaud that but their mismanagement is there for all to see. Jimmy Jones held 19% of the club shares in 1995 yet resigned from the Board. He held on to those shares for some considerable time after. WHY CAN''T WE STAND UP AND ASK SMITH TO DO THE SAME.     IF she had come out with a statement when Bowkett and McNally came along that she and her husband were delegating all decisionmaking to the rest of the Board then I could just about acccept her continued presence although I would have remained sceptical. That did not happen and we are simply clutching at straws if we now believe that she has relinquished control to McNally.
Fantastic post YR. I believe DS is totally incapable of relinquishing executive control over the club, and I beleive the reason is that she now perceives NCFC to have totally transcended the status of a football club. She has created, quite in her own image, what she considers a real cornerstone of Norfolk cultural life, a shining beacon of morality, sportsmanship and hope for all members of the community. She cannot and will not allow this mission to founder. You are talking about the final chapter of her life''s work. Meanwhile we are left with owners that are immune to challenge, investigation or criticism, protected by the frailty of their amateurism, their naivety and their advancing old age.
Great posts Yellow Rider and Fernando, and thanks to the OP for a comprehensive report. The problem is that the comments reported are, as another poster stated, even more worrying than Saturday''s result. And sorry Cap Canaries, you do seem to have given them a really easy ride. They may be nice people, but look at what they''ve done to NCFC! And as for McNally calling DS & MWJ "angel investors" as reported in today''s EP, well that''s your credibility gone mate!
 8.
give him the job for life
Ipswich fans just love Bryan Gunn and Delia Smith, FACT.
 9.
Thanks norwich city fc for making my day on staurday.  best day out watching football ever. to all you boys that thought you just had to turn up - ha bloody ha!!! C##ks!!!   welcome to league 1 welcome to league 1....   you are just another leeds united - but with worse support   we''ll never play you again....   who are ya who are ya!!!   say we are top the league said we are top the league!!
difficult to argue against any of this unfortunately...
 10.
Upon watching the highlights once more, watching Gary Doherty as the ball ricochets up in the air before Semmy lobs it back towards Theoklitos. It''s quite clear the clueless captain points and shouts at Jon to kick it back to the keeper. Doherty has been the WORST player for Norwich in recent years when it comes to having no plan B and simply giving to the keeper to lump forward. He''s not fit to wear the shirt IMO... Doc is a waste of space
so why did our Manager make him Captain?????
 11. reasonable summary, Otsemobor more to blame in my eyes, particularly for the suicidal back pass that started the collapse
 12.
It''s largely up to the banks. If they don''t see how we are going to pay back 20mil then they will call us on it. They may have said you have one season to get back into a money making league before we call you on it. We can only hope this is true as it will sort the club out one way or another. Without a rich owner, 20mil is a millstone around our necks.
I''m afraid that''s pretty much how I see it as well, have always scorned it before, but at the moment it really does seem the best way in the long run.
 13. I have no insider information, don''t know anybody special at the club, and have never posted a rumour before. However, I''ve had a season tkt for the last 13 years and have sat in the same seat in the lower Barclay for the last 9. Next to mostly the same group of people. I sit next to a guy and his wife who have been pretty much pro Delia, so we avoid the subject to avoid a massive row! They are involved in the club and I believe mix with Delia a little socially.  Not once has the guy come up with any speculation or rumour in all the conversations that we have had over the years. Until Saturday.... We were discussing the carnage that we had witnessed at half time and I was bemoaning putting a tenner each way on City winning the title, and how it certainly didn''t look like we had a promotion winning side on first half evidence. He just came out and said, that we would be in administration if we didn''t get promoted at the first attempt. I thought this was a throw away comment and said how did he know. He just said "trust me, this season is win or bust, they have put all hope on promotion at the first attempt,we are deffinitly in administration if we do not get promoted this year" Could be rubbish, but as I''ve said the guy just doesn''t normally say stuff like that, he wasn''t angry at the rubbish we''d just seen, and something about the way he said it convinced me that this was not speculation. So are we that close to the edge financially, and is a season in this division now actually worth it if it finally gets rid of the shower in charge and gets us new owners (Southampton or Notts Co type please!)
 14.
Yes, i would like another manager as much as anyone. But..... *it would cost a lot of money to do so *it would probably take at least 2 weeks for us to find another manager, plus more time for him to get to know the staff, players etc. *he did well in pre season, 1 game and everyone calling for him out? *Who else would want to manage Norwich at the moment? *Butterworth and Crook may not want to stay if Gunn goes. *it would cost money to hire a new manager, and they would probably be on a higher wage than Gunn Any more reasons please feel free to post them in here. OTBC
1/ He should resign anyway after that result, 2/ Boothroyd plus others available 3/ Pre-season counts for nothing really I''m afraid 4/ Yes reasonable point with Delia in charge, but still think Boothroyd would come 5/ Butterworth & Crook must share the blame, did Crook scout the Keeper??? 6/ Gunns wages are money down the drain, so if we have to pay more for competence it will benefit us in the long run Sorry Brendan, Gunny''s appointment was crazy, most City fans were horrified to see it happen last season, and even more horrified to see it confirmed for this season. We said he should go before his reputation was tarnished, too late now, 7 -1 wasn''t a blip, it was a team totally off the rails without any sign of leadership on or off the pitch.
 15.

After watching them all several times, the entire back four are a disgrace. A lot of blame on here for the keeper but Nelson was the worst offender, goal 5 is so outrageous for a CB you would have thought he was a winger filling in. 1: What was Otsemobor thinking? Amateur hour. Keeper should have dealt with it. 2: Doherty turned inside out but any decent forward can turn a CB on the back foot and get a shot off. Can''t blame him there, the keeper should have held onto the shot. 3: Nelson chases his man across the box, ignoring the cross completley. Drury stands and watches, motionless, 25 ft from where he should have been. 4: Freekick was unstoppable. 5: This one is an absolute shocker. At least Doherty jumps with his man, beaten by the larger Platt (allowed him in front though) but Nelson here is completly at fault. He allows Lisbie in front of him and he doesn''t even jump to challenge. He ducks! A CB''s bread and butter, jump and challenge for the ball, he looked scared to do so. Disgusting. 6: No CB''s in site. 7: Tudur-Jones and Drury casually waslking back twards edge of box, reminded me of Fotheringham v Coventry last season. Still at 6-1 all was lost and who could blame them. Nelson for me failed at the one simple thing he is suppossed to be able to do, attack the ball in the air. He has to be replaced. Askou in immediatlety. Otsemobor has to go as that pass showed he is an absolute liability, no thought to what he was doing. Spillane in!  I can''t really comment on Drury, he looked out of position for 3 but I had to listen to the game and didn''t see his contribution. But surely Stefanovic could and should play there? Keep him! Big factors appear to be Nelson out, Otsemobor out, Askou and Spillane in. Keeper looked poor and out of position but the stick he is getting on here is a little harsh given the disgraceful showing by a 6 ft 3 CB who neither attacked the ball or looked like he knew where he should be. Lets hope these three changes take place and we put this abortion of a defensive performance behind us. -Bigus
A good constructive post.  Agree with everything you''ve put!
agree as well, particularly in regard to Otsemobor, as he started the rot with his dreadful mistake for the first goal. Please let that be his last game in a City shirt. Just out of interest, did they name a man of the match yesterday?
 16.

Rubbish, you run on the pitch and threaten the manager, deserved to be banned for a few years.  You lost, to a much, much better side.  Get used to it.  Going to be a long season for you lot.  I predict a 3 year stay in this league minimum for you.
I don''t know about that, after yesterday I think we might get out of this league at the first attempt....
top quality post as ever Mr C
 17.
Nope it is fair weather fans. I know them when they post. You had a bad game.  Well get over it and move on.
Cam I think that''s very unfair, but unfortunately typical of some of your recent posts. If you want an example of fair weather fans I will give you one- Colchester Utd v Leeds in 1971 attendance = 17000 plus fans Colchester Utd average attendance that year = ?????? and if Col U were to draw Man U or similar this year you would sell out, but your only other chance of selling out is when NCFC play you you don''t think along the same lines as a lot of us because you support 2 small clubs. you don''t expect them to achieve anything so if they do then it''s a nice suprise. we support what should be a reasonably sized club which should be holding its own in the Premier League or at the very least competing strongly to get back there. That has been our history throughout the 70''s, 80''s and early 90''s at least. There should be no comparison between NCFC and CUFC but sadly there now is, we have been brought down to a level where we are now far inferior to a tiny club from Essex.
 18.
He should have never been allowed to wear a Norwich shirt again after last season. Biggest problem is Gunn though I''m afraid.
agree with the sentiments apart from the fact that Gunn is the second biggest problem
 19. No, I''m all for protesting outside the Boardroom entrance but not on the pitch, just likely to get a fine for the club
 20. at 6 -1. Applauded what was a very well taken goal and couldn''t bear to sit down again. the majority of city fans were preety good, considering the score and there could have been problems because did anyone else notice the distinct lack of stewards in the lower Barclay? Due to the fact a number of them didn''t show up for duty, or so I was told by one of them.
 21. I think he should go now Phat. Nice bloke, but not a manager
 22.

Get it in your head mate she dont want to sell, its her toy, she wants investors but dont want to give them nout in return, would you put millions into something you could not have control over. If you really believe if she went there would be no NCFC then you have issues mate BTW we are more likely to have no football club WITH HER IN CHARGE.
Sorry mate, but i just dont see a que of people there to put in the money to rebuild the club, and thats whats needed, iam not happy that a club our size gets humiliated year in year out, but untill something real is on the table i just dont see how she can go, if she wants to sell or not is not the point, if a decent investor wants the club, he will get it. And in the current climate, thats not going to happen.
Re read my post mate people will not invest under her terms, bottom line.
don''t know if you heard it Ricky, on my way home was listening to Radio Norfolk ( i like a laugh!) and they reported 200 fans outside the Boardroom entrance chanting for Delia to go. Expect Mr Gunn to be the latest fall guy to get the axe. If Delia wants to exit with any dignity she should make good on her pledge to sell the club for a tenner.
 23.
To be fair, rather than ANYONE take the pish out of these guys, they should be applauded, they at least have more spine than the internet warriors on this board ! Focking big thumbs up from me to the guys that ran up to the managment team ! well played lads, shame the team didnt have your passion !!!!!!
how about if the club end up getting fined for the fans running on the pitch? they did not do anything to cover themselves with glory they just looked very foolish, particularly the one who fell over.
 24.
How bad was he? Seriously, no knee jerk reactions, was he really that shocking?
I don''t think you can blame it all on the Keeper to be fair. Otsemobors disaster of a back pass was to blame for the first, the Doc had a nightmare and the whole team were shocking and clueless, particularly in the first half. For those who weren''t there it''s important that you understand that Col U did not play that well. Having said that it could have easily been 10 -1, they did miss a couple of easy chances as well. This is not a one off in my opinion, this was Gunns 20th competitive match as Manager I believe, and he obviously thought the Keeper and the team, and his tactics (?) were good enough. Gunn should now step down. Very disappointing to hear our Keeper booed by our own fans as well.
 25.

Did anyone else get annoyed with ipshyt and Peterborough getting first coverage,im not that stupid that these are a league above, but it just doesn''t seem right, especially on your local news! Hay ho.... bring on the Colchester!
it is annoying me 2 on look east all they kept going on about was ipwsich and peterborough and on sky sports all the kept going on about was the championship! they should talk about us 2!
one of the things that annoys me, and happened last night is commentators going on about how loyal other clubs fans are are and how impressive their attendance was. Last night classic example in the Boro v Sheff Utd game. They had 23,500 attendance for what is supposed to be a match between two "big" clubs. The commentator said how impressive this was and that it demonstrated the loyalty of fans in the North East. We will get 25,500 for Colchester Utd today, a full division below and despite rumours that Col U returned a fair number of tickets which our fans have snapped up. And it probably won''t get a mention. Would love to see how 18500 season ticket holders compare with other clubs as well
