Premiership relegation next season
Icecream Snow replied to CANARYKING's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Burnley need to take money out the club, both to service the debt and because the new owners have only paid for half of the club so far. I believe James Tarkowksi only has 12 months left on his contract, so if they can't agree a new contract, could easily force a move this summer. So I think Burnley will struggle, and it's difficult to see if Dyche can keep them up this year. For Norwich, everything depends on the quality of the recruitment this window. I can't see us stopping up with the current squad, so it all depends if we can attract quality players to the club or not. -

I misunderstood this thread as I thought Waveney had been interviewed by the Daily Mail and given his name as Onel 😛🤣 -

Whilst I could see Brentford overturning the deficit in the second leg, I think that's Barnsley done. -

Shame for Cook, thought he'd been the best player on the pitch. Not a great game so far, though Bournemouth have created the better chances and look more likely to score. -

Will be interesting to see if the teams are going to go for it or if it's going to be a more cagey affair -

I should have said that a few years back there was a Chinese government directive for Chinese companies to invest in foreign clubs to get the knowledge to build their Chinese league. Seems to have gone very cold now though. -

Fosun at Wolves, Guochuan Lai at West Brom (looking to sell) and Birmingham is hidden behind a complex web of companies, believed to still be Hong Kong owned. Tony Xia owned Aston Villa before being forced to sell up, and is allegedly on the run from all the investors whose money he lost. I have no idea if it's true, but it's a story I desperately want to be true. -

Weird goal, but saves their season With Leicester having Chelsea and Spurs to play, Chelsea with Leicester and Villa, and Liverpool having Burnley and Crystal Palace Liverpool will fancy getting a top four spot. -

Jonás Gutiérrez? - I admit I had to look up his surname as I couldn't remember if he was Guiterrez or Martinez -
Unlikley since he played in the 2-1 Chelsea win over Man City, seems close to Tuchels's first team.

If it's a DUP vote, surely they would vote NO against the candidate they didn't like and the candidate with the least NOs would get elected? 😛

I'm just catching up on Michael Bailey's Athletic article “I’d like to think we will break our (£10 million) transfer record — not that it’s the aim. I’d like to get players in for nothing, ideally! But the calibre of player we’re pitching for is quite high, which is exciting,” says Webber. -

So to summarise the Connor Southwell article - the information has clearly been supplied by the club Pukki, Idah, and Dowell will definitely be in the squad next year Buendia and Cantwell will be here if they're not sold. Hernandez, Stiepermann, Placheta and Hugill have been told they can leave, either loan or permanent deals, but the club isn't actively looking to push them out. Josh Martin out on loan. -
Yeah, I certainly think Aarons is the most likely and the one we'd be actively looking to sell. Not that we'd want to lose him, but the fee could potentially cover 2-3 players in return.

It's an interesting interview. Over £30m lost due to COVID. Wouldn't be surprised if Farke's decision is based on the quality of players we recruit in the window. Sounds like we want to sell a player to increase the total pool we have to spend, but he did say he won't pick up the phone unless it breaks our transfer record.
