1.
for £500k
Not sure where you got £500k from. Myfootballwriter suggested £300k at the time of the transfer as he was out of contract this summer.
2. Because you''re quite clearly a plank.
3. Have heard him and Cave Brown are the only youngsters to be kept on. The rest are being got shot of.
4. Have you taken to replying to your own posts?
5. I can see why you might think that, YR but honestly I think Aviva''s acitivity with ITFC was just business. They gave Ipswich a loan, saw that it wasn''t going to be paid and sold it off to someone - happens every day with money lenders. This is sponsorship - they are paying us to be on our shirts and in the stadium and they are a massive part of Norwich. It''s about time they started working closer with the football club.
6.
erm.. before we all get excited lets take a moment to think just what AVIVA have done for this city, its employment, local peoples jobs and dignity and what they have done for Ipswich town FC... I will not be buying the new shirt.. Aviva know what they can go and do! jas :)
If you want to be childish. I couldn''t care less what they have done previously for Ipswich, if they''re putting cash into my club and not creating further debt for us then all good IMO.
7.
Anyone know how much this deal is worth please? Presume NU have had a guilty conscience after saving them down the road?
Official SMS said a substantial seven figure sum.
8.
On the official website, on the ''canaries world'' media playing thing they have two shirts, the home and away design with ''aviva'' as the shirt sponsore..   Are these the official shirts?! or are they just to see what the name would look like on them? if they are the kits, then i''m not very pleased, a very bland design to say the least!
Very bland? The moment I saw it I thought "Brazil" - it looks great, IMO.
9. http://www.canaries.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~1300844,00.html Official confirmation - apparently the deal is worth a substantial 7 figure sum. But even more exciting is what appears to be the home kit and home goalkeeper jersey for next season in that video!
10.
We only have bus parades when we have actually won something.
Like away from home? Look mate, you must have no life whatsoever to keep frequenting here. Why don''t you get yourself a hobby (or better yet, this thing called a job, I know it''s not common in Ipswich) and come back next season after we beat you twice for six points? There''s a good lad.
11. Confirmation: http://new.edp24.co.uk/content/news/story.aspx?brand=EDPOnline&category=NewsSplash&tBrand=EDPOnline&tCategory=News&itemid=NOED29%20Apr%202008%2011%3A35%3A42%3A420
12. Was the Chase era really that bad? Yes. Is this era any better? IMO, not much.
13. Facts and statistics can be manipulated to serve any purpose, and while your facts may look and sound convincing, a closer than cursory look shows the truth. Jamie Cureton has scored 14 goals this season. Take off two for the Barnet game - that''s a cup fixture, and while others may consider it meaningful, those two goals at the end of the day mean diddly squat to what really matters, the league. Then see how many games Jamie has scored in. He scored two against Southampton. One against Ipswich. One against Coventry. One against Scunthorpe. One against Wolves. One against Barnsley. One against Blackpool. One against Watford and three against Colchester. So how many games has Cureton actually scored in? 9. Sure, some of those are important goals and many have won us vital points. But think back - how many more games has Cureton missed the opportunity to score? How many points has that man cost us by missing simple chances simply handed to him. My guess is far more than the 9 he has contributed goals in. That fundamentally is our problem. How can we realistically look to scale this league when our supposed goal scoring striker pops up with goals in only eight to ten games a season? We need someone leading the line we can rely on to put the goals away time after time. Now appreciate this thread if more Cureton vs Evans, and I''m not saying Evans is a better goal scorer.  However, I do think he adds more to the team in general than Cureton ever has and has not missed anywhere near as many sitters as Cureton has. I think Evans is the sort of player who''s hard work and determination will set up as many goals as he will score - and I just don''t think Cureton adds anything to the side except goal scoring threat.
14.
Err? isn''t our new striker really a winger? and has been all his career?..............priceless Roeder!.
No. Read the information given. He''s a striker who''s largely been used on the wing for the Dutch club he came from. Everywhere else he''s played as a striker.
15. You''re a joke who simply can''t keep to a rational opinion, aren''t you? Only on this forum do you get these labels that people throw around with stigma attached. It''s pathetic and exceptionally childish of posters who resort to this. It''s no better than mindless name calling, and those that indulge in it should be ashamed. We are all Norwich City fans, we are all pained by the situation we find ourselves in and we are all keen to see us climb out of it. Our only differences are our opinions on how this should be done. The reality of the situation is this - if we don''t all grow up and start pulling together and actually try and support the side, relegation will happen. But disappointingly I can''t see those here actually being man enough to put their opinions aside and start showing the club the support they need. Obviously their reputations here as some digital no body is more important than supporting our club to the last to ensure we stay in this division.
16. The attitudes shown on this thread are disgusting. At a time where we should be pulling together to try and get us out of this mess, people seem intent on labelling each other with frankly pathetic names like percy positives and negative nigels. As supporters we should do what we''re supposed to do and support the side. Fans here who have already given up are not real supporters and should leave this forum. Go support Chelsea. You''re not welcome here.
17. Where do we need to go to get to tonight''s venue? Obviously I''m aware it''s at Carrow Road, in the Jarrold, but where abouts in the Jarrold do we go to get to this place?
18. We came, we saw, we got beat 6-0?
19.
Sell him and buy someone cheap like Michael Kightly.
Too injury prone :) Seriously, though, I''d expect a fee of at least £1.5mil before we even consider letting him go, possibly more.
20. Jas: Of course Marshall isn''t a top class keeper, but he is a very good keeper at this level; his mistakes are few compared to the vast number of times he''s saved our bacon and it is why he will continue to be our number one for years to come despite your opinions. As for your point on experience, Marshall now has about a years worth of experience as a Championship keeper. How much experience in this division does Matty Gilks have? He''s got lots to improve on but he has time on his side and has clear and obvious potential. Calling him a terrible keeper shows your naivity.
21.
Further to my post, the admission by GR that loans will be heavily used again, sort of nails Munby''s claim of the board backing Glen in the summer, for the cr*p PR stunt that it really was!.[:@]
You what?! You really are the most ignorant person around. It doesn''t mean that at all, it means that we will be using the loan system to bring in some players and nothing more. For crying out loud, you didn''t really expect him to replace every player leaving this summer with permenant transfers? For a club of our size it''s unrealistic! Honestly, wake up and come to the real world.
22. Not the first time this has been mentioned nor the last I would imagine. I think with Hucks I''d have liked to see him given a contract to play just one more season and use him as an impact sub. However, his wages must be very high, his fitness is declining without a doubt and he is losing the abilities that made him such a brilliant signing in the first place. Still, the man has and will always be a legend at this club and if he does go, it will be with thunderous applause that befits this status.
23. Starting with the confirmed... 1. Dublin 2. Evans 3. Bertrand 4. Camara 5. Pearce 6. Henry 7. Gibbs Now speculative... 8. Lappin 9. Rossi Jarvis 10. Ryan Jarvis 11. Halliday 12. Hucks 13. Velasco 14. Eagle 15. Could be any one of Doherty, Fotheringham, Cave Brown, Spillane, Martin, Smart etc etc etc
24. I would be willing to put money on Roeder being here next season. I think suggestion otherwise is naive.
25. Smallest Man: You''ve overlooked my point. Kieron Gibbs is not the difference between playing well and playing poorly, as Wiz suggests is the case tomorrow evening. One player does not make a team, and blaming poor performances on this one player is absurd - surely even you can see that?  It is my opinion this sensationalist nut case, though, insinuates these types of opinions for no other purpose than to push people''s buttons. His changes of opinions are frankly so frequent they are legendary (my example being his clear criticism of Roeder for choosing Gibbs over Pattison which he claims could lead us to relegation) when he once was in full support of all his actions, and I fully believe he should be treated like the troll he is. He is no better than Cluck, and as sooner he''s gone the better.
