1.2 million is an absolute bargain. Unfortunatley Norwich would be too short sighted to realise a great investment opportunity like this. If we are not able to muster this fee from somewhere then we are really in muddle financially.

At first I was a little sceptical, but in the short term I think it is a good idea considering the financial situation at the club. Managers like Ince, Curbishley or Boothroyd would all require more expensive, much longer contracts, which is far more of a risk than the option the board has gone with. Crook has been coaching for a number of years and Deehan has been a good member of the backroom staff at a number of clubs. I think the key thing is to really get behind them all and lets ensure we finish the season on a high!

Lappin should be in the squad if we are short and he should have been given a chance over the last few weeks, but have people have forgotten what he was like as a player?? It think people are clutching at a myth. He was not good enough for Championship football. He is left footed and can take a decent free kick, however Hoolahan is the only choice for left mid!  

Birmingham have just sent Quashie back to West Ham. He would be just the sort of player we could do with to improve the Midfield department. Try and get him Gunny!!!!!

Easy choice -Drury Drury can defend and Bertrand can''t. Having a bit of positional sense and being able to defend is kind of crucial for a full back!

Ched Evans is absolute quality, so of course we would want him on loan!!

Pattison has never been on the winning side in an FA Cup tie!! lets hope he holds onto this record after the Charlton game by not being picked & we win! Pattison is the sort of player we should be letting out on loan. No, but we have to be realistic!! How would we afford 15 new players?? Obviously we should go and buy world class if we can afford world class!!

I have been reading a number of posts over the last couple of weeks and it is blatantly obvious to me that the following overhaul is required if we are to stand any chance of progressing in this division: Betrand needs to be replaced by Drury - At least Drury can defend, which is a major problem with Betrands game. Otsemobor needs to be dropped out of the side - Again he is an appauling defender and his positional sense is very poor - he constantly switches off / gets caught and his pace is the only thing that saves him most of the time after he has reacted rather than anticipated. The only other option wouyld be to play omozusi at right back. We cannot continue with two full backs who cannot defend!!!!! We need a quality centre half to play alongside Doc, with another good centre half on the bench. These two players will obviously need to be loaned or purchased. We currently have one decent central midfielder in Smmy Clingan. GR needs to bring in a quality central midfield player who can score goals and get from box to box. Why GR persists with Pattison is something I find quite unbelievable. Pattison has nothing to offer. I know he has scored a couple of goals in recent weeks, but we cannot afford to have a central midfielder in the side who can go long periods of the game without touching the ball!! If we are unable to sign somone then Russell is the best option, although I dont rate him very highly. The other parts of the team would be ok if these problems in key positions were solved. Everyone keeps going on about needing a goal scorer, but the biggest issue is the amount of goals we concede!!! Until this can be solved, the strikers are irrelevant. We have got reasonable strikers in Lupoli, Sibierski, Cort, Cureton, Martin and Lita. Again I dont know why Lupoli does not get more of a look in. If he were to have a good run in the side Im sure his confidence would improve and he would become a valuable player. Obviously we could do with another quality striker if we cannot keep Lita. It will be a real measure of the ambition of NCFC whether we keep Lita or not. Even Unfortunatley I think they will look at the short term cost rather than the fact that they would be paying for a saleable asset in the future. The only other option would be to play otsemoboor up top, which I dont thgink is such a bad idea. We need players in all positions, but we definitely need some decent cental midfielders. At the moment Sammy Clingan is the only player good enough for Championship football. The other central midfields are simply not up to it (Pattison, Fozzy & Russell) and we desperately need somone alongside him who can score a few goals!! I would als say we need a good right back who can defend. After watching Otsemobor again the other night against Palace, it is blatantly obvious that he cannot defend. His positional sense is shocking and he is constantly day dreaming. I agree with all of the players listed by golden coppell and I would particularly like to see Matt Oakley at Norwich

Although I agree with your statement that Huckerby did not deliver in the last few seasons, he still possessed far more threat than any player currently at the club. I still think he would have had a valuable part to play as part of a squad, because he would scare opposition defenders. there are so few players in the division who can run at defenders. Any side in the championship would benefit from Darren Huckerby. Im sure if he was to come back here, he would at least offer the option we do not have at present. I just wish that GR would bite the bullett and try to get him here on load for the next couple of months. What is the point in having someone of his ability sitting in the stands, when Im sure he would be more than willing to help us out!! I also agree with your starting line up. A quality attacking midfielder has been missing from our side since Damien Francis left. We have too many run of the mill midfielders, who quite frankly are not going to get us anywhere. It says it all when you can say that it doesnt really matter which one plays alongside Clingan in the middle, as none of them offer anymore than the other. Another glaringly obvious problem as far as I am concerned is that we have now gone another season without signing an out and out left winger!!?? Hoolahan is obviously a decent option out on the left but I dont feel that he really feels comfortable out there and Roeder thinks he is best in the hole behind the strikers. I honestly think we are two players away from a quality side.

Fianlly GR has selected a team which is capable of attacking the opposition and it has paid off!! Why we kept persisting with Pattison I dont know. Although not a fan of the Doc, I thought considering the amount of time he has been out, he did a good job tonight. Hoolahan also worked his socks off to prove a point to GR!!

Stick the Doc in then!!

Its a litte irrelevant who the manager is when you have a shoestring budget and a poor squad at your disposal (from last season). I really dont think anyone could have got any more quality signings in, whether it be on loan or permanent than GR has made. Another manager may have had a little more luck, thats all!!

Why he keeps persisting with playing Pattison I dont really know. I know he has had some good reports, mainly for away games, but he is simply a run of the mill player who offers very little. Im sure the balanced team above would offer far more threat than we have had in recent weeks. I really dont understand why GR will not pick the strongest team available??

How can a team likeNorwich not afford to win these type of games. Considering the farcical situation with Taylor, Norwich need all the revenue possible to survive. I dont see how any side outside the premiership can afford to play weakened sides in this competition!

Let''s hope its the Doc who will be going on Loan. Would be a bit pointless, beacuse he would struggle to get in the Hartlepool side!!!

Fully agree with your list of players who are not good enough, however I would also add the following to the list: Ryan Jarvis Fotheringham Gallagher Croft The biggest problem is that barely any of them could command a transfer fee (which say''s it all), and unless their contracts are due to expire soon, we would have to pay them all off. We paid nearly a million pounds for croft -  a winger with no pace, no skills and poor ability to cross the ball!! I bet we could not recoup that money now!!!  

This must be some kind of joke!! Gary Doherty is an appauling player!! Dion Dublin has been twice as good as Doc when he has played at the back, and he is a different class to the other players in the team. You have to ask yourself whether Doherty would command any sort of transfer fee?? The biggest problem with Doherty is that he gives away so many free kicks on the edge of the box. I cant think of any attributes he has which would make you think he is a good player? He is not quick, he does not command in the air, he does not talk, he gets turned too easily and his passing leaves a lot to be desired!! Saying all that I dont think he has been much worse than a lot of the other players this season!! Glenn Roeder has a real job on his hands sorting out this mess. We desperately need a good central midfielder, as this is the key area of the team where we will win or lose games.

Good news regarding the Injury to Doherty. Hopefully he will be sidelined for as long as possible!! Perhaps Grant will now be brave enough to play some of the youngsters on Saturday. If only he would realise Huckerby''s best position is left midfield we might be a little better off. Shame we have run out of free Scottish Transfers or out of contract players!!

Is it just me or is Nigel Worthless just letting opportunity after opportunity pass by!! I can only assume he hasn''t noticed that West Brom are willing to let Jason Koumas go for 1.5 million!! That is an absolute bargain for a quality attacking midfielder who was one of the top scorers in the division!!!! Another great player to get would be Chris Sutton. He really wants to come back to Norwich and would even be prepared to take a huge wage cut or play on a "pay as you pay" basis!! Could you imagine Sutton and earnshaw up front!!! Wake up Nigel!!
