  1. Whilst I do agree, the point that was being challenged was about him not getting enough first team minutes and the chances of that being even slimmer at Chelsea... From a career perspective there is almost no doubt that he is better off at Chelsea than with us (unfortunately), even if he is only there a few years he could earn enough to last him a lifetime (if he properly handles it)
  2. Whilst they may have produced more top level pros, how many minutes have they actually had on the pitch for Chelsea first team? It seems like the bulk of the former Chelsea pros are farmed out until they get sold and then have a good career, but a far greater number don't... I would be willing to wager that over he last 5 years we have given more competitive minutes to our young prospects than Chelsea have.
  3. Oh totally agree that the narrative is managed, how deep that goes I'm not sure, but the Leicester title was the final nail on the coffin for me...
  4. There was also Carl Robinson who played for Toronto for a few years before playing for and managing the Vancouver whitecaps for a good few years
  5. Farke would be disappointed in a draw as he always enjoys beating ipswich...
  6. With all of the recent discussion on new forums and what would happen should this one close, I'm curious, what are the first and second rate forums we can discuss Norwich on?
  7. BBC story has been updated with more details, but essentially the top 8 on each league go into 2 legged knockout competition with the bottom 2 of the star and gold being replaced by the finalists of the gold and blue respectively. The bottom 20 in the blue league get replaced with the top performing teams in the national leagues... However they also say it would run as midweek fixtures so that the clubs could all be in the domestic leagues still... Which doesn't seem to work in terms of fixture congestion....
  8. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67787981 Well that didn't take long.... How does a 16 team league co-exist with domestic leagues considering the fixture congestion the top clubs already complain about? Let alone a 32 team league!
  9. So being a pedant about this, the ruling is only in relation to uefa and FIFA, the individual, national leagues can still apply their own rules...
  10. Whilst that is true the governing bodies do not have to let anyone join their competitions, otherwise things like stadium requirements wouldn't work. All competitions have rules and eligibility criteria, if they break them or don't meet them then they the competition organisers should be within their rights to exclude and/or sanction. The problem is uefa and the pl want the bug teams to leave less than the big clubs want to, this is heading the same way as the LIV/PGA conflict...
  11. Don't add much to the board? You've managed a posting average of over 2 per year (just), a lot of posters could learn a lot from you!
  12. Sweeping generalisation ahoy... We had to rehome of our cats after we had our first kid because he was allergic to them, but some animals don't like children regardless of how the child is towards them. One of our friends had to give away one of their dogs because they couldn't trust it to be left alone with the baby, the dog used to position itself between our friend and the kid and growl and get aggressive whenever the friend was holding said baby. It's not all about training of either the pet or the kid, sometimes it's just unlucky...
  13. Or alternatively, business being run as a business... Whilst football clubs aren't a "typical" business, they are still a business. At the moment, despite the malcontent, there is still a waiting list for season tickets and we do still sell out most casual tickets for l ague matches. For the cup matches they are doing incentives like kids for a quid which shows that if the situation for league matches changes then they would most likely be going down the incentive route to encourage people into the ground when appropriate...
  14. They don't need to because the variable income is so relatively low...
  15. The factor you're missing here is that it's a Friday night match in the middle of winter on sky, the casuals therefore have less incentive to attend so the attendance would be lower than their average without this. Whether or not it would be half I don't know....
  16. Carlton, Carlton, you're losing the shape!
  17. That's why the public execution works. It tells people what is and isn't acceptable and if a new account appears following the same patterns as the banned one, everyone knows straight away to ignore it.
  18. That was mentioned in an offhand manner in an article in the sun (I think it was) with no evidence or anything else...just paper talk I imagine as no one would have bid £15m for him before this season...
  19. It kinda looks like the flag of Botswana... Just eider white bits
  20. Homicide was a great show, the technical advisor on that was David Simon who created the wire. If you ever get the chance read his book: Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets.
  21. Warwick Davis? I didn't realise you were a Norwich fan!
  22. If the mods go down that route then they should also publicise any bans, who was banned and for what. Bans thus far have only been known about through hearsay and the reasons assumed. A few public executions would be a far more effective deterrent...
  23. Maybe now, but last week? I doubt it .. TWTD seems to have no interest in sensible discussion with Norwich fans, as soon as one is identified the calls for Phil to ban them are immediate no matter what they've posted...
