As I said earlier in the post, the people hastagging #refugeeswelcome and taking a big banner to Carrow Road etc now have blood on their hands. There was absolutely no screening or security process being followed, allowing god knows how many terrorists to come in to Europe, given 90% of the "refugees" were young men of my age, it doesn''t take a genius to work out what SOME of their intentions were. The political correctness brigade used to make me roll my eyes and laugh, now they could get me killed. That''s the harsh reality of it.
If we are to accept you premise then anyone who uses any facility that a terrorist exploits for their gain will have blood on their hands, that would be all of us who use this message board as the internet is one of their major tools. Looks like we could all get each other killed.Do you want to stop anything that a terrorist may expoit? It''s going to be a very big list.
I know what you are saying but to open them in to your country with open arms is suicide. Would you invite a murderer to sleep in your house with you and your family? This is essentially what''s happened.

 3. £2m? What have you lot been smoking? He''s never scored more than 11 league goals in some very very poor leagues, he''s done great internationally but against some awful opposition. It''ll be more like £500k imo

 5.
It seems by reports that Declan Rudd put on a good display mid week. Surely he must be ready to replace Ruddy, who most fans agree is not up the standard required. But this week is not the right time. If we do get the expected thrashing, I would rather see Ruddy on the receiving end rather than Declan. But his debut in the seasons PL can''t be far away, cab it????
Most fans want Ruddy to stay in goal because despite the goals conceeded, it''s hard to blame him for the majority of them. The only fans I''ve seen who want to drop Ruddy are the same ones that demand Neil and the board get sacked after every loss and who blame Martin for every goal conceded regardless who''s fault it was.
 6.
I do agree that Redderz is not great defensively. But the job of a fullback is stop the winger getting crosses in. That''s just basic. Yesterday their left wing was able to get plenty of crosses in because our right back didn''t do enough to stop him/was easily beaten.
Crosses will come in, that''s inevitable and it''s impossible to stop that happening as a ball can be launched in to the box from anywhere on the pitch, it''s down to the centre backs to defend against this and this simply hasn''t been happening. The goal was down to Bassong and nobody else, he lost his man and got outjumped, try and pin it on RM all you want but it quite simply wasn''t his fault. RM has clearly become the boo boy now, 5 goals were conceded from our left hand side last week, nobody mentioned Olsson because it was Martin''s fault in the middle (despite Bassong leaving him to mark 2 players at times). This week a cross came over from the right, and is it the guys in the middle fault? Nope of course not, it''s Martins fault on the right despite Bennett covering that area and Martin covering the near post. Unbelievable.
 7. Apart from a couple of sloppy passes which everybody was guilty of, Martin played pretty well today. To blame him for the goal is just ridiculous, Martin was further up the field (as that''s how we play) and Hoolahan lost possession so WBA broke, Bennett went out to cover the right back area (because that''s what players do, they cover each other) and Martin then took Bennetts position in the box. The ball was delivered to the far post in an area which should have been covered by our left CB, Bassong, who didn''t do his job. For those who are blaming Martin because the cross came from that side but didn''t blame Olsson last week when 5 of the 6 goals came from our left hand side are just proving themselves to have a vendetta and can''t be taken seriously. I thought we missed Whittaker on the right today as he links up well going forward, for Tuesday and next week I''d have a back four of:Brady - Bennett - Martin - Whittaker Bassong has been the weak link for me this season with Martin and Bennett (yesterday) having to constantly cover for Bassong who has wandered off up the field or just isn''t picking up his man. Against Newcastle Martin was left numerous times marking 2 players which is nearly impossible, Bennett found himself in the same situation a couple of times yesterday as well. Bassong needs to be dropped.
 8.

Ruddy Whittaker Martin Bassong Brady Tettey Howson Redmond Hoolahan VOO Jerome People are giving Howson a lot of flak for his last 2 performances. He made a couple of errors against Leicester but did that trying to attack and make things happen. He''s not Hoolahan but I thought he did ok in the forward role against Newcastle as well. So wouldn''t leave him out. At the start of the game (Newcastle) we had trouble holding onto the ball Tettey did win it but we couldn''t hold on to it, - we missed Jerome & Hoolahan controlling the ball up the pitch. Mbokani has a lot of ability though. Also would give VOO a chance on the right. He''s pretty solid and can support Whittaker. Martin & Bassong are ball playing centre backs so can play out from the back - no need to waste that extra player (Dorrans) doing that job.
What a weird team.  No change in the defence after two of the worst performances I''ve ever seen from Martin and Whittaker, except dropping the bloke who directly created both our goals.  Keeping Howson despite him being completely anonymous all game.  Bringing in a centre midfielder who has made no impact in over a year to play left wing, and dropping the forward who has scored in his last two appearances (three including country). I really do wonder what some people are watching!
Me too. Did you not see that 5 of Newcastles 6 goals came from our left hand side with Bassong and Olsson defending like clowns at times? Olsson is our biggest liability in defence and was last season as well. I''d have Brady at left back from now on as he looked pretty solid and I''d have Jarvis and Olsson fight it out for a spot further up the field.
 9.
the whole defence didn''t play at Newcastle I admit but the other games the weakness is RC RCB whitts like a poster said drops off the LM Due to lack of pace so LM has a choice cross early or run at him that means RM has to shift across to cover RM then leaves his man meaning bassong now has two men to cover pulling the whole defence over any cross of deflected shot that goes to the left has left us exposed bassong has limits but if he is left to do his job he is better CB than martin
I''m struggling to think of any goals we''ve conceded this season from our right hand side because Whitts has been dropping off? In fact I can''t think of any goals conceded from a cross from the right hand side? Only one that springs to mind really from that side of the pitch is Vardy''s goal where we got caught on the counter attack and most of our team were in Leicester''s box. I think you have been watching different games to me as well, because it is Martin who is constantly left marking 2 or more players in the box, not Bassong, one of the goals on Sunday, Martin was marking 2 strikers and Bassong was still in the Newcastle half! People won''t look to criticise Bassong or Olsson though because it doesn''t suit their agenda, they''ve made their minds up that Whitts is rubbish and Martin isn''t a CB so whatever goals we concede will be down to those two from now on. As i''ve said a few times, Whittaker and Martin were streets ahead defensively over Olsson and Bassong against Newcastle.
 10.
craig fleming was a small centre half if he is good enough why worry about his height ? if he solves the problem he is fine by me but we wont change it we will stiil play RM at CB and still have the same problem against WBA if they have and sense their right back will be launching diagonal balls across the pitch in between whitts and RM for a pacey striker to run onto seen it time and time again the weakness is RB RCB and a keeper that is out of form with a terrible shot to goal ratio if we play those 3 against WBA we will get beaten again in my opinion
The weakness is only at RB and CB because that''s what you want to see. How on earth could you say that Whittaker was worse defensively than Olsson on Sunday? Because Olsson and Bassong were awful. The amount of times Martin was left marking 2 players because Bassong had gone walkies was unreal.
 11.

ellis206 wrote the following post at 22/10/2015 3:15 PM: A tall CB? He''s the shortest CB at the club. 2"s shorter than Martin and 3"s shorter than Bassong. -------------------------------------- If thats true then I''m really confused then why he''s a better header of the ball. Perhaps its just that Martin can''t jump?
I''m not sure he is. He looks taller, which is weird because according to the official site player profiles:Martin : 185.4cmBassong : 187cmBennett : 181cmSo I don''t think Bennett is any taller than our current CB''s. Not sure he''s any quicker. He''s certainly not better on the ball. It''s starting to look more and more obvious why he hasn''t got himself into the first team as of yet.
According to Wikipedia, which I agree could well be a lot less accurate than our own club''s information, Bassong and Bennett are 6''2" with Martin at 6''1". Also, defending crosses and set pieces is as much about positioning and decision making as it is about height and heading ability. Against Newcastle, Whittaker let his man run in front of him to meet the ball. That''s not a height issue. Players were then left unmarked on other occasions - that''s communication and perception. Doesn''t matter how tall you are if you are not in the right place at the right time. I do get why people are suggesting Bennett, he''s our only other choice at CB and to a degree, you have to wonder why he hasn''t had a stab at it when others appear to be struggling. However, and I don''t do scapegoating, the issue is at RB. AN is persisting with a more attack minded fullback in Whittaker, but defensively he has been short in recent games. Wisdom appears, in the short time we have seen him so far, to be another full back who is better going forward. Arguably he was better in that sense than Whittaker in that Whits often struggles to serve up consistent delivery into the box. It''s made somewhat frustrating when you look at left back where we have two quality players who can play that role in Brady and Olsson as well as a young player in Toffolo who is looking like he could make the step up to that sort of level as well. Part of me wonders if there will be more changes elsewhere other than CB.
Whittaker was the correct side of his man, Martin should have been tighter to the guy on the other side so they sandwich him, to be fair, it was just a brilliant ball in between our defence. The biggest issue from sunday was that 5 goals came from the left hand side, Whitts and Martin have been getting all the stick but they were far better performers defensively than Bassong and Olsson.
 12.
For me it underlines our weakness in Defense. With the departure of Turner and others he is realistically our only decent alternative at CB. I actually think he is far better than Martin in that position and would favor the latter at RB instead. last season our defense was average at best so no surprise we are letting goals in for fun. Tettey and Mulumbu in midfield in tandem may be the way forward to give the back 4 more protection with still plenty of forward options still in the team
It was the best in the league under Alex Neil.Reason we are shipping so many goals isn''t down to individuals, it''s down to the collective, the way we play leaves us so open to the counter attack it''s unreal, I reckon about 80% of the goals we have conceded are when we''ve been counter attacked.
 13. Oh brilliant, I was wondering how long it would take before people start to cry over the pre and post match interviews. I heard Alex Neil say Newcastle were a good side in one of the pre match interviews, I''m assuming that''s what filled Newcastle with confidence and drained our players morale? Out of interest to the OP, what would you have wanted to hear from Martin? Because I guess you are one of those that would moan no matter what he said?
 14.
For a tall CB he was also fast as well; don''t know if thats still the case since his injury.
A tall CB? He''s the shortest CB at the club. 2"s shorter than Martin and 3"s shorter than Bassong. On recent performances I would be dropping Bassong, whilst Martin inevitably got blamed for some of the goals on Sunday, he was massively exposed and at times left marking 2 strikers. I''d have a back four of Whittaker    -     Martin      Bennett    -     Brady
 15.
Howson needs to be dropped and forced to up his game. Whittaker needs to go permanently, defensively he''s by far the weakest RB in the Premier League - he''s league 1 standard at best in that position and it shows, time and again. Dont care how good he is going forward (and I accept he does contribute well to the attack) - We don''t play wingbacks, so he''s not the man for the job. Martin is the best we have at the moment unfortunately but inconsistent and also clearly needs to be upgraded significantly in January if we''re to have any chance of staying up.
He''s not league 1 standard though is he, hence why he''s been continously picked by our last 3 managers and is an international right back. You failed to mention that 5 of the goals yesterday originated from the left hand side of the pitch, so what does that say about Olssons ability?
 16.
Set up both goals. Mug
Try reading all of my post before making yourself look like an idiot.5 of the goals came from our left hand side yesterday, that''s absurd, Brady needs to be put back in the left back slot.
 17. I''ve always said this guy can''t defend and is the biggest liability in our defence, cost us 3 goals today and was the standout worst performer in our defence, which took some doing. Whilst reading back through the match thread on here, his name wasn''t even mentioned in connection with the first 3 goals (usual scapegoats of Martin and Whittaker), he was culpable massively in 2 of them and partially in the other (first goal being a mixture of Bassong playing everyone well onside and Olsson running around like a headless chicken and leaving a guy totally free on our left). That being said, he did some decent forward play and put in 2 great crosses for our goals, would you put Brady in at left back and have Olsson and Jarvis fight it out for the left midfield spot?
 18. "Luck" certainly doesn''t even itself out over the course of the season for a club like Norwich, bigger teams will always get the favourable decisions and we''ll be constantly banging our heads against a wall. Season under Hughton where people said we were "lucky" to finish where we did, I actually disagree, I thought we were incredibly lucky to not finish comfortably in the top 10 as we had a string of awful refeering decisions go against us.
 19. I went to that Plymouth game where Sibierski got a couple. Swansea and Sunderland are probably the other 2 long distance ones i''ve gone to, although I think i''ve now done around 70 away games and I refuse to go on cabbage
 20.

So if we had beaten Palace and Leicester they would not be in the position they are now (and if Southampton had not beaten Chelsea neither would be in the position they are now I suppose).  It is hard to know where to begin in any reply to such stupidity. So I shan''t.
Well...who claimed their position in the table as a proof of their credentials of their wins at Carra? Certainly not me. Before taking my word out on context, maybe you should bother your overworked brains with reading the entire post first? Or is it too much to ask? I am saying that these teams should we be able to beat at Carrow Road, but we did not. And I am not fooled by their lofty position in the table at the moment, BECAUSE these teams are never as good as the table currently suggest they are. The table does not lie in May, but it may well lie in September/October. If you don''t know that, then you truly are not worth the letters I spend on this answer. If you disagree that we should expect to beat these teams at Carrow Road, that we are not "worthy" of beating Leicester and Palace because they are "so good", let me know as soon as possible, so I can mark your card.
Pretty sure you were one of the people saying the table did lie in May after Hughton led us to our highest finish in 20 years because WBA and City were "on the beach"?
 21. I wouldn''t say our defenders are slower than any other teams in the league and would say that they are actually quicker than quite a few. Issue is playing your full backs so far up the pitch, no defender in the world can get back that quickly, Olsson was left exposed at W Ham last week and Whittaker yesterday.
 22.
I have referred to this before but I think it''s worth repeating...Last night 5,500 Ipswich Town fans paid £45 per ticket to watch their reserve team play in a midweek League Cup game at Old Trafford.......http://www.sudburymercury.co.uk/sport/reaction_mccarthy_glad_he_stuck_with_the_fringe_players_and_kids_at_old_trafford_1_4245194Conversely, at last night''s game, West Brom brought less than 1,000 fans and yet tickets were only £10 and kids for a quid in the same competition. There were only 19,000 at the game in total. I think both cases highlight the fact that money is not an issue because if it was, Town fans wouldn''t have gone as they did in their droves, and Norwich v West Brom would have sold out. Cheap away tickets made absolutely no difference. The one thing we can all agree with on this thread is that we would all like to watch cheaper football but I still think as well intentioned as this protest may be, it is ultimately a futile gesture. Finally, I agree with the previous poster about this being an interesting and informative discussion (mainly) and whilst I don''t think it will change many people''s views, it does however set out clearly the debate from both sides.
I''m sorry but that''s an absurd comparison. Smaller teams always take big numbers when they play massive clubs because it''s a rare big day out for them. They''ll be happy to pay top dollar for individual games as it''s a once in a lifetime opportunity for some clubs fans. You have to remember, for an Ipswich fan who is under 18, they wouldn''t remember or wouldn''t of had the opportunity to see Ipswich play at Old Trafford.Whereas Norwich and WBA play each other regularly and it isn''t seen as a big fixture for either set of fans. By your logic, Ipswich and Carlisle would regularly take between 4000/5000 fans every away game regardless of ticket prices, the reality is, Ipswich struggle to take 500 or more on a midweek away fixture to a Leeds or someone. The FSF have done a lot of good work and has caused debate amongst the football elite, with the huge influx of money in the game right now, isn''t it about time fans were rewarded with a capped ticketing price for away travel? If me and my missus were to have gone to both Anfield and Upton Park, we''d have paid £180 in total just for tickets, add a further £120 for travel, and £50 for food and drink, we''d have spent a good £350 in 7 days. It''s too much, fans need to start benefitting from the money in football right now because without fans football wouldn''t exist.

 24. Same old people once again proving they know nothing about football.
 25. Good post, but you won''t see the usual suspects on this messageboard till our next defeat. Said at the time how awful Bournemouths signings were, yet people on here were getting their knickers in a twist over the amount of players they were signing.
