1.
Someone cheap!
Oh, Wiz, you are awful but I like you ! In these turbulent times in which we live we often seek constancy and, Wiz, you never let us down !
 2.
He''ll still be a City legend, don''t worry. Good luck Bryan, you''ve got the character and we know you''ll give it your best shot. OTBC
Good post, breath of fresh air. The appt is only until the end of the season. The Club needed to stabilise the situation without delay and provide continuity. This they have achieved. Gunn, supported by Crook and Butterworth or Malky, will definitely do his utmost to steer the club to safety. If he achieves this (I firmly believe he will), and IMO Roeder would not have done, then the Board and Gunn can review and decide whether he is the man to take the Club to the next level.
 3. Interesting points Mr Chops and put very assertively ..... as though indisputable. Dare I say that I don''t agree with very much of what you state with such authority ? Right now I don''t have time to respond in any detail and to do so would be a fatuous exercise anyway. However, I laughed out loud at your suggestion that beating Barnsley was a given whoever was in charge.......... even Forest Gump. I wonder if you felt such confidence before the game or immediately after the shambles that was bottom of the table Charlton beating us at home the previous Tuesday evening. As for the implication that Roeder was our saviour last season well, of course, he was indeed the man brought in to reverse the downward trend, paid handsomely for the purpose, and he managed to do so for just about long enough for us to accumulate enough points to avoid the drop..... just. It was a close run thing and safety was achieved in the penultimate game of the season. My view, and it is only my opinion, is that Peter Grant was such an incompetent manager and made such glaringly obvious mistakes that, frankly, most anybody taking over from him would see clearly what needed to be done to reverse the decline. I would stop well short of Forest Gump but I assume you suggested that fictional character as exaggeration to prove your point. What is indisputable is that, having been the man at the helm when we so narrowly avoided the drop last season Mr Roeder then succeeded in navigating us to the brink again and there can be no argument surely that he had to go and change implemented before it was too late. In my opinion, Roeder would have taken us down to League One and the Club could not stand by and allow this to happen. Therefore, I applaud the Board for removing Roeder and for appointing a replacement management team so quickly. We can all argue ad nauseam as to whether or not Gunn et al was the right choice to make or, indeed, who mght have been better but that would get us nowhere because NONE of us knows. I can only judge the Board on their actions obver the last few days and I support what they have done. Time will tell whether Gunn and his team will succeed in steering us away from what was starting to look inevitable. Personally, I think they will and I hope that you will want to see me proved right !
 4. I have got to say that, having been to 5 away matches (I can''t get to home games), my conclusion was that Roeder was an unlucky manager. We won 1 of those 5 matches and lost 4 but having been to all five I had no doubts that we shouldn''t have lost any of them. So, my view is that the squad is good enough to go up and I am confident that the new management team will bring out the best in the players - plus there will inevitably be additions, including perhaps a big striker and central defender from Australia. I don''t know when their season starts and finishes but Ian Crook will surely have already made a list of target Aussie players. In addition, JD will have a few cards up his sleeve. I for one am looking forward with newfound confidence to the coming weeks and months.
 5. IMHO a very good decision. Time to stop moaning and get behind the management team and the players.
 6. It''s all very well supporting the appointment of Ince but I suspect that such an appointment would quickly end in tears. He won''t have any money to spend, will soon become frustrated and, in any case, if he achieves any sort of success a "bigger" club would come in for him.
 7.
Hopefully if it IS Ince (and am standing by original thought that the club will give Gunn until the end of the season) then one thing he will bring to Norwich, as far as the players are concerned, is "respect"-in that, footballers are very much into "...what have you done/what have you won??." in their mentality.   Ince has played for Liverpool, Manchester United and Inter Milan for starters-won the Prem, FA Cup, League Cup. Played for England in the World Cup, about 50 caps altogther I think.   He can certainly stand in front of our squad and say "see what I have done", that sort of sounds arrogant, but its the sort of thing that footballers respond to and respect. The trick is, can he then take that on and get their respect and a response from his methods.   Again, if its Ince, a big decision will be his assistant-is crucial, I think, he has a strong Norwixch connection. Ince has worked with, correct me if I am wrong, Ray Mathias, who is a bit old school.   We will see. Would be surprised if he was appointed, but encouraged, none the less, but does need a Norwich man at his side, so to speak. Maybe Dion who he will know.
What you say is in theory watertight. It is so very logical. But, Ince''s achievements didn''t do much for him at Blackburn. He was replaced by Sam Allardyce, a man who as a player didn''t achieve anything like the same heady heights as Ince, but as the new manager at Blackburn has reversed the rot. Dare I mention Bryan Gunn''s mentor, Sir Alex. A decent footballer but didn''t achieve any winners medals (I think that''s right) but, arguable, the best manager in the world. Sure, you cannot analogize Gunn with Ferguson but given Gunn''s obvious pedigree and character qualities plus his thorough knowledge of Norwich City FC and the people of Norfolk I see no reason why he couldn''t become a very successful manager for our club.
 8. Blimey, lots of no''s. I completely empathise with the no''s who, because of his legendary stature at Carrow Road, worry that failure in the job may lead to Gunn being ostracized but you can''t go through life fearing failure. As for his lack of experience, OK, he has no hands-on managerial experience but he has incredible experience of the game, Norwich City and, of course, life itself. He is strong, self-assured (without being arrogant ) and someone who is highly respected by players and fans alike. If  he is supported by good quality coaching staff (someone for example has mentioned David Williams) then I believe he has the stature and the potential to be a good, solid, long term manager for Norwich City. It''s only my opinion and whether Gunn gets the chance to prove me right remains to be seen.
 9. I am very pleasantly surprised at how calm, assured and naturally authoritative Gunn appears to be. Given his "pedigree" and supported by good quality coaching staff I think he might just make a very good manager for us.
 10. Local news programme South Today revealed last night that there had been serious crowd trouble during and after the game against Doncaster last Saturday - Southampton fans fighting amongst themselves and protesting against their Chairman, Rupert "actually, I prefer hockey" Lowe, their Board and their manager. Southampton fans message boards have been suspended as supporters vent their fury over the situation that the club and the team are in, virtually bottom of the table, £25M plus debt ..........and, only one home win this season against ....errr..... Norwich ! How glad I am that I support Norwich, we''re such a well run club with a well-loved owner and Board that we would never have problems like that ! http://www.upthesaints.com/
 11.
Jerry Goss was a guest at Future Radio today and talked openly on the managerial  situation,  how he would love a coaching role and the best way forward for the Club He also spoke about the difficulties he had with Martin O Neil and disappointment when Mike Walker left for Everton. Listen to the interview here http://futureradiofm.podbean.com/
Very interesting and illuminating interview. Thanks for the tip.
 12.
You''re kidding aren''t you shaun? Well, maybe he has some skill but if you''re referring to the penalty, look very closely, and keep the pause button handy. He takes a dive and as he goes over the defender puts a hand on his back. That''s why the ref gave it but it was a shocking bit of diving. He went over before the defender touched him. But we got a take what we can get i guess!
I din''t think it was a penalty either but it was strange that the defender did not protest at all. The Virgin highlights show this clearly.
 13.
Southgate, whose side are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference, said: "If Steve thinks there needs to be change, he will make a change. "I could have no complaints if he did based on the results we have had." What''s this?  A manager admitting he''s not cutting the managerial mustard and that he''d understand if the axe was wielded?  Refreshing change, that one.  I was not a fan of Southgate the player and think (to be kind) he was "poorly advised" over cashing in on his penalty miss with those Pizza Hut adverts, but this seems remarkably decent at a time when most managers (including a recent one of ours) would take a wholly oppositional line. On a related note, what is the point in Middlesborough FC? And Sunderland''s background when interviews happen is SAFC.  What''s the "A" for?
Mmmm......... he''s not resigning and walking away from a lucrative severance package though, is he ? I suppose integrity and honesty have their ultimate price !
 14.
the tw*t was definitely uncalled for, I have apologised. However, i can not understand the euphoria. WE are still a club on a serious downward spiral, yet some people are happy, it seems?!
Blimey, what do you want. Right now I''m basking in the glow of Roeder''s departure and Gunn being rewarded by a thumping win. Lighten up for Gawd''s sake !
 15.

tw*t
was tht needed? i think he mite b joking mate!
No, it was uncalled for. I can understand the euphoria.
 16. Thanks Ricardo. Sitting down here on the South Coast, as ever, I was waiting for your report. What was the attendance ?
 17.
Lupoli and Cureton wouldn''t work together and Cort isn''t fit enough yet so i don''t think he had much choice about starting Russell but Fozzy in midfield?
I keep reading that Cort is not fit enough but when will he be fit. I went to Reading match, he played for most of the 2nd half, won every high ball and looked fit enough to me. What has happened in the 4/5 weeks since then, then ?!
 18. I''m going for a positive 3-1 to Norwich bowled along by a noisy, full house. Lappin to score from direct free kick and JC to score two .OTBC !
 19.
I can definately.catergorically state that Mr. Mumby was .......having a fag!
Homophobe.

 21.

What''s the chances of Martin and Spillane getting recalled too!
Spillane you can recall, I believe.  Martin, no.  That''s what Luton said when it was raised with them weeks ago. I think you will have a new Manager by the end of this week.
Would say that new manager has already been decided on.
I said that earlier, I reckon the wheels have been in motion longer than we think
i said that at work yesterday.. something tells me the club have already interviewed and made their mind up on who they want.. i expect we will know before Saturday.... the bookies arent often wrong... its boothroyd. jas :)
I think it''s a no brainer that we will have a new manager at Carrow Road by close of business tomorrow. I have got to believe that the Board had already discussed contingency plans over tea and crumpets with Smith and Jones and, dare I say, made exploratory contact with the identified replacement whi, IMI, will be either Boothroyd or Rioch because of their immediate, uncomplicated availability. If Rioch, then it would be great if his assistant is named as Dublin.
 22.

Former manager Nigel Worthington believes the Norwich City board should have stood by Glenn Roeder, rather than sacking him yesterday. The current Northern Ireland manager was given the chop by the City directors in 2006, after six years in charge at Carrow Road and one promotion. But following Peter Grant''s failed stint at management, Roeder''s tenure lasted just 14 months and Worthington believes the powers that be have been too hasty as they embark on the search for the Canaries'' fourth manager in three seasons. “They have brought a young manager in, then they don''t show the faith in him that they should do,” said Worthington. “Pressure goes on board and boards have got to be strong, and I know the financial circumstances and situations within football clubs, that revenue has got to be brought in. “But if you''re going to employ somebody, then you''ve got to stand by them.” Unity is what brings success according the Northern Ireland chief, rather than chopping and changing at the top - especially when the going gets tough. “Spectators nowadays, and everybody, managers and coaches, they can all win games,” added Worthington. “But sometimes it happens for you and sometimes it doesn''t, and I think you should stand behind your manager and give as much support as you can. “I think there''s been a lot of frustration. We all know what a good club it is and it is very sad and disappointing to see where it is at this moment in time, so let''s hope they can move forward.” __________________________________________________________________________________________________   I totally agree with Nigel Worthington Norwich should have stood by Roeder, but all the Roeder outers wanted him to go, I hope you are all proud of yourselves. You did the same thing to Worthington, and no doubt in 1 or 2 years time you will be doing the same thing to the next manager. We need to show faith in our managers like Worthington stated, and we never show faith in them, we also need patience. The board of directors are careless, they don''t think they just sacked Roeder without thinking. They were careless also when they turned down Peter Cullum''s offer. All the board should get out, you should go, you are no good to this club. I can''t wait until an investor comes in. Yes Roeder got rid of Huckerby, and we now have to move on without him but Roeder brought some good players in like Lita, Evans, Pattison, Bell, Stefanovic, Kennedy, Bertrand etc. Unfortunately he wasn''t given the money to bring in quality players. But having said that he wasn''t a great coach, and I don''t think he could motivate his players, get the best out of the set of players that he had. At first I thought this was stupid when people were saying he couldn''t motivate his players but when we lost against Nottingham Forest, Charlton then I really did ask questions of him. Also when he didn''t play Lupoli. Why doesn''t he play Russell in his proper position? Also why didn''t Bell play on the right in one game I think it was when Croft wasn''t playing? Decisions like these are what cost him and had he have got his team selection right then maybe he would have done a little bit better. The qualities I will be looking for in the next manager is can he get the best out of the set of players he is working with, whinging on about money is no good it is whether he can get the best out of the players, whether he can get results with them.
FO...have you seen how we are playing??? and our league position???....and yes im very proud of myself NOW that arrogant useless, clueless turd has gone
Ha ha ! Succinct, apposite and very much to the point. Totally agree with your sentiments City.
 23.
ok it was the joint highest attendence so theres the big clue who the other team? no cheating
S W and S U
 24.
Well you clearly arent the cleverest are you mate.Rotherham started on -17 points this year. They play in Sheffield because they have no ground and train in a park because they have no training ground. They are completely skint. They would be 1 point off the play offs if they didn''t start on -17!
Thanks Ratman, I said I must be missing something ! That definitely makes Robins more interesting.
