1. Adie Boothroyd was and I no doubt still is a fantastic coach.  His reasons for leaving Norwich at the time were ambitiuos ones, and to have ambition cannot be faulted.  The only problem was that the then Academy Director Sammy Morgan and Adie had different views.  Hence Morgan left soon after Adie.  Worthy was furious at the time and probably still is, but all that aside I doubt if Adie Boothroyd would stilll be at Norwich in Doug Livermore or Steve Foleys position. He was always destined to become a manager.  I think if you asked the older scholars who has had the most infuluence on their football I think a huge majority would all say Adie Boothroyd. I think he deserves a warm reception tomorrow and I am sure that anybody who had any dealings with the man whilst he was here would feel the same and will give him the reception he deserves.
2. 8 MILLION IS A FANTASTIC PRICE FOR A FORWARD WHO HAS NO PACE. WALCOTT (HAVING SEEN HIM PLAY SEVERAL TIMES) WILL BE A FANTASTIC PLAYER AND IF YOU HAVE THAT PACE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A DANGER.  IF ANYONE OFFERED 8 MILLION FOR ASHTON I WOULD SNAP THEIR HAND OFF.
3. I see that NW has not even put given Rossi a place on the bench this afternoon.  All week he has been telling the media how well he done last Saturday ( I for one thought he was totally out of his depth) if he really thinks that why is he not on the bench?  Is he playing mind games now he has won his signature.  I dont think he should be telling the media he thought he was crap, but he has been a little over the top in his praise in my opinion. I feel my gut instint about Rossi signing a professional contract will come true and he will be given very limited  opportunity.  I think that now he has signed a pro contract the least Worthy can do is be honest with him and treat him like a professional.  He should have told him he struggled last week and that maybe he is not ready for the first team yet. I know that he went to Plymouth fully confident of getting a place on the bench
4.
Perhaps try El Ouargui on the right
Have you actually seen him play?  He is an out and out  centre forward
5. Personally I am not sure if the youngsters are ready for the first team (I do not include Shacklell as a youngster and he is certainly good enough) I dont think that either of the Jarvis brothers are good enough.  But what alarms me is that there is speculation about bringing in a 19 year old and a 20 year old from Mansfield and another lowly club surely with all the expert coaching and the academy envoinronment our lads have been bought up in they must be better than these players, if not something is obviously wrong.  Or maybe it is just a case that other clubs have to play their youngsters whcih makes them better players in the future.  Could be bit of a chicken and egg situation, as I dont think the Norwich fans would allow youngsters to have a decent run out before getting on their backs (ie Hendo) but how will they improve playing reserve or academy football. I think it is a difficult one to call, but I would be extremely disappointed if youngsters were bought in from lower league clubs without first giving ours a decent run.   The point about Danny Crow is valid and I could not believe that NW was talking about bringing in a striker of a smililar age from div 2 when he had let Danny go at the end of last season (it would not have cost too much to keep him as he was on a low wage - about the same as Rossi Jarvis is unwilling to accept).  Should defo have kept him, I am sure he will soon be moving on to a bigger club .
6. Rossis current contract ends on 30th June at which time any team will have to pay compensation I doubt if he would be allowed to go before this date as the squad is so small.  As far as signing for Norwich, I personally have my doubts if he will,
7. THE POINT EVERYBODY SEEMS TO BE MISSING IS ROSSI''S FAVOURED POSITION IS LEFT/RIGHT BACK HE WAS MOVED INTO MIDFIELD WHEN HE BEGAN TRAINING WITH THE FIRST TEAM THE SHARPEN HIM UP. I AM NOT SURE IF THAT IS STILL THE CASE OR IF IT IS NOW THOUGHT HIS BEST POSITION IS CENTRE MID BUT HE HAS ALWAYS PLAYED IN DEFENCE THROUGHOUT HIS TIME AT THE ACADEMY
8. I pick on the point of how much money is wasted on academy talent, the fact is that Norwich get a substantial amount from the FA which is in recognition of being an academy club which I believe is a 6 figure sum per annum.  The "wages" the scholars get is also the minimum allowed £45.00 per week for 1st year, £50.00 per week for 2nd year and £90.00 per week for 3rd year scholars, so that would hardly break the bank anyway, education etc is all allowed for in the FA allowance. The academy players get a win bonus of less than £10.00.  so all in all I dont think that the club are wasting any money on it.  Also FONCY raises a lot of money to pay additional costs for the teams, ie Tournaments abroad, Travel, Hotels etc. so that does not come from the clubs coiffers.  The club would get compensation if Rossi Jarvis does not sign pro which is recognition of the time and money (which is outlined above)  have spend coaching him since he was 6.  At this moment in time I doubt that he would sign and if NW thinks that going public and maybe trying to "bully" him into it will work I think he will be sorely wrong.
9.
I''m sorry, but are these clubs likely to want a player who looks decent in a young reserve team but who has only played around 10 minutes of first team football (has Rossi played more than this?)?  Why join a dodgy Prem club just to languish in their reserves?  Didn''t do Darren Kenton a lot of good did it - even Leicester wouldn''t sign him!
May as well languish at a club where there is a CHANCE you play first team football if you are good enough rather than languish at a club where you have NO CHANCE of playing for the first team on a regular basis if you are good enough until you are at least 20 years old.
10. If Rossi is sure the other teams are interested in him (his advisors are obviously doing their job) I cant see what incentive he has to sign for Norwich.  Football is a short career and why would you want to spend the first few years playing reserve team football when others are playing regular first team football at clubs that give their youngsters a fair chance.  PS did anybody see Danny Haynes score for |Ipswich same age as Rossi but deemed not good enough for our academy when he came on trial!!!! still now he is playing 1st team football in the same league.
11. TOMORROWS LINE UP   Green Wright   Davenport   Doherty   Drury Hughes   Etuhu   Safri     Huckerby Ashton   Thorne   THATS WHAT I RECKON!!!!
12. I HAVE JUST READ THE REPORT ON "FONCY" ABOUT THE INJURIES SUSTAINED RECENTLY BY THE YOUTH TEAM PLAYERS.  I FOLLOW THE YOUTH TEAM AND RESERVES (WHICH ARE ONE OF THE SAME TEAM - ALMOST) AND I THINK THAT THE AMOUNT OF FOOTBALL THOSE "LADS" ARE PLAYING IS NOT RIGHT, THEY CANNOT BE GETTING ENOUGH TIME TO REST BETWEEN MATCHES, (SOMETIMES 3 IN 6 DAYS FOR LADS NOT YET FULLY DEVELOPED).  I AM SURE IT CANNOT BE COINCIDENCE THAT SO MANY ARE CARRYING NASTY INJURIES - I HAVE WORKED OUT THAT INCLUDING PRE-SEASON SOME OF THOSE LADS HAVE PLAYED AROUND 24 FULL GAMES ALREADY.  SURELY THIS CANT BE RIGHT AND IS THIS WHY WE ARE MAYBE NOT PRODUCING THE ARAY OF YOUNGSTERS THAT OTHER CLUBS ARE.  OUR FRIENDS DOWN THE ROAD PLAYED A YOUTH TEAM ON SATURDAY, AND I HAVE NO DOUBT WILL FIELD A "FAIRLY" DIFFERENT LINE-UP FOR A RESERVE GAME.  ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THE NORWICH PHYSIO IS ONE OF THE ONLY STAFF MEMEBERS REALLY EARNING HIS WAGE AT THE MOMENT.
13. FROM A MONEY ORIENTATED CLUB THE ONLY WAY THERE WILL BE ANY CHANGE IS IF PEOPLE START TO VOTE WITH THEIR FEET.  I AM A SEASON TICKET HOLDER AND ONLY LIVE 3 MILES AWAY SO I WILL GO TO THE LUTON GAME, BUT I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING ANY MORE AWAY GAMES THIS SEASON.  I CAN SEE WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM AS IT IS SO DEPRESSING ON THE JOURNEY HOME AFTER YET ANOTHER AWAY DEFEAT SO I CANT IMAGINE WHAT IT IS LIKE AFTER A HOME ONE.  I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY SEASON TICKET IF THE CURRENT REGIME IS STILL IN FORCE AT THE END OF THE SEASON. AS I BELIEVE THERE NEEDS TO BE CHANGES FROM COACHING STAFF TO PLAYING PERSONNEL AND QUICKLY.
14. I agree boycott it, it should be no different from all academy games played at a training venue at 11.00am on a Saturday morning.  Why should they make money from a match that has to go ahead anyway.  At least when Norwich have played fund raisers at Carrow Road they have been against Manchester United and Parma 2 teams they dont normally play. ANYWAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE COLD ON SATURDAY, STAY HOME!!!!!
15. I do have "spies" at colney and they tell me that not only did the "players" get Sunday off, but they were not in today either :.  Never mind Worthy keeps saying he will sort it out on the pitch, hopefully soon if he can get them all together.   I wish i got rewarded like that for all my hard work !!!!!  UNBELIEVABLE   NOW HE SURELY HAS LOST THE DRESSING ROOM!!!!!!!!
16. THE ONE MAN FOR THE JOB ----- ADIE BOOTHROYD ------ KNOWS THE SET UP NOW PROVING HE CAN DO A GREAT JOB AS A MANAGER, BUT OOPS FORGOT THATS ANOTHER WORTHY CLANGER ONE THAT GOT AWAY!!!!
17. If worthy admits to playing players he doesn''t think should be in the first team this says exactly what he thinks about his youngsters.  Almost every reserve game I have seen (including West Ham away this week) Spillane, Gusterson, Cave Brown, El Ouguri, etc are performing well, I am sure they could do a job, it appears that he only has eyes for one youngster Rossi Jarvis (who also played very well on wednesday) but I am sure some of the others would offer somethiing (actually anything would be good the way things are going)!!!  By the way most of the West Ham team that played have had first team experience.  I know you cant play a team of kids, but looking around all the other teams (premiership and fizzy) there are a lot of youngsters playing regularly, ie. Walcott for Southampton Huddlestone for Wolves, Alnwick for Sunderland and plenty more - including some out on loan to gain first team experience.  It really is about time some of our young talent was given a chance (or maybe they are simply not as good as the press makes out - and worthy sees nothing to rave about), otherwise I can see in a few years time these names will be haunting us when other teams come to visit carrow road, as surely they must also be feeling that if they dont get a chance now they never will.
18. For the record Danny is actually 19 years old, but still a good player, didnt get much of chance at Norwich.  Agree with your comments Worthy hates kids.
19. Who do you think "worthless" should pick on Wednesday, should he stick with the same shower  from Saturday or should he finally give some of the youngsters a chance.  I don''t think they could do much worse.  I cannot underhand why he has had Rossi Jarvis on the bench and he still hasn''t introduced him in two games that were completely lost from an early stage.  If you aren''t going to give someone there debut then when the heck are you???? All I keep reading about is how this club "gives youngsters a chance" yeah right "no chance" under the current regime.  We are still talking about young Shackell and young Henderson they are now MEN of 20 and 21. My prediction for team of Wednesday No chance from Saturday!!!!!
20. Hi CD I agree with you bout last nights match I thought Spillane was quite poor (although that is the first time I have seen that this season) so everyone is allowed and off day, but not ready for the first team, Rossi Jarvis seems to have improved and got quicker (maybe being involved with the pros has sharpened him up) Of the other defenders I must admit I always feel Gusterson gives an assured performance and looks very comfortable, I am not convinced by Halliday though. Not a good game last night but I do feel quite sorry for these "lads" that is 3 games in 8 days for most of them (I wonder how the pros would cope)!!    PS Do you every go and watch the academy games at Colney CD?
21. I have heard that Michael Spillane has travelled with the team, now he is a player who will go places, a fine athlete quick agile big and strong and still only 16 I am sure if there is a problem in defence he would play ahead of Rossi Jarvis!!!!
22. Saw him play a while ago in the FA Youth Cup at Carrow Road, was supposed to be the "big new star" not sure if that quite materlised.  Believe he has been out on loan (and scoring) in the lower division so not quite sure if he is what we need.
23. I have watched Ryan over the past few years in the youth team and reserves and for England.  In my opinion he is a very lazy player (I believe worthy has also said he is a lazy trainer).  He has an abundance of skill but I dont think he is the type of player that will really get on well at Norwich, He is the type of luxury player you bring on when your 1-0 down with 20 mins to go and I dont think Norwich can afford that type of player. He is ok in the air, good with both feet, but very very slow.
24. If Worthy and Shacks had fallen out and he had banished him to the reserves, do you not think he would have made him play the other night (travel all the way to Aldershot) that would really p*** him off.  I go with the theory that he is probably slightly injured but I have heard a rumour that he may be playing on Monday for the reserves at home to Watford!
