What is the point of Burnley?

Burnley 3 - 2 up at home to Villa tonight with a few minutes to go. Sounds like an exciting game to watch................................... -
So another one of our youngsters has penned a long term contract with the club today. This time it's U18s defender Sean Stewart who has signed on for four years. There has been such a blizzard of announcements in the last few weeks that I've probably forgotten a few, but by my reckoning that's Jaden Warner, Joe Rose, Sam Blair, Sean Stewart, Tom Dickson-Peters, Tyrese Omotoye, Lewis Shipley, Abu Kamara, Jonathon Rowe and Andrew Omobamidele who have all signed long term contracts with the club in the last few weeks. There has never been a time when we have signed up so many youngsters on such long term contracts. The reality is of course that most of them won't make it with us, but some of them will and that's a thrilling prospect. Given that the post-Brexit transfer rules have made it a lot more difficult to sign promising young players from Europe it is vital that we produce as many home-grown players as possible. Once again Norwich City and Stuart Webber are ahead of the curve - I just love the way our club is run these days.

Form with or without Buendia

We sure didn't. I remember at the time watching the seasons highlights video of that season (the internet didn't really exist then). The remarkable thing was that Sutton either scored or provided the scoring pass for about all but two of our League goals that season - and the other two goals he was heavily involved earlier in the move. The silver lining to that cloud, for me at least, was the large sum of money I made betting on us being relegated the following season. 😐 -
Utter rubbish. If you actually watch it you will see him absolutely busting a gut - sprinting back about 50 metres to get in position after Newcastle lose the ball on the other side of the pitch to him. Meanwhile the rest of the Newcastle defenders are standing about like a bunch of spare pri**s at a wedding failing to mark or close down.

Er............................... you clearly didn't watch (or have forgotten) Chris Sutton in the 1993/94 season (and that was in the Premier League). -
There's an old - and very true - saying. Life makes hypocrites of us all.

CC is far too busy starting new threads to worry about trifling technicalities such as actually reading what other people post in threads. 😉 -

I assume the fact that Sitti is coming back from Belgium must mean that Soto is now our first choice striker yes? -

Don't know if the 'Mel' in Mel Machin was just Mel or short for Melvin. -
Fitzpatrick's goal for Queen of the South at the weekend here: (0:49 onwards). A decent goal - be careful about having your ears split by a Brazilian style stadium announcer. 🙂

Chelsea about to sack Lampard

If (still a big if) we get promoted we'll need to beef up our midfield. Ruben Loftus-Cheek maybe, assuming Fulham get relegated. -
It was only in pre-season friendlies. He looked useful on the ball and had some nice touches if my memory serves correctly, but really not enough evidence to go on.
