Trouble at Derby
The Great Drinkell replied to Making Plans's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Rumour going around Derby was that the owner was suggesting who should be playing where and NP asked him why if he knew so much would he employ a manager... not necessarily word for word! Fair point if true? -
Maddison time again
The Great Drinkell replied to Mr Jenkins's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Pritchard yes, but Naismith - I can''t see him as a replacement for Wes. -
Having been participating in this thread for a few years now, I know there are know such things as certainties so Parma I offer you a probable, Plymouth v Hartlepool Home win, Plymouth have won their last 5 games and last time these teams met Plymouth ran out 5-0 winners Good luck with your picks. For the City bet, I fear fans expectations may rise to giddy heights again after the last weeks results. Most teams that come to CR will be happy to leave with a point so we may see some frustrating days where we may have to be patient tomorrow could be one of those days. I''ll go 2-0 win with late goals. good luck Reggie

Those Murphy Twins...
The Great Drinkell replied to nutty nigel's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
And that''s one of the advantages of the Championship, I just don''t think they would of be given the chance in the PL we would of just thrown money at replacing Redmond. this is the best part of supporting a "smaller" club. -
Everton match thread
The Great Drinkell replied to Crabbycanary3's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Another run comes to an end when a team plays against Norwich City, Everton are beaten for the first time this season -
Penalties
The Great Drinkell replied to lake district canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think its a fair point to discuss, what if this had been 0-0 against Newcastle towards the end of the season? I have always been a Wes fan but his penalties always worry me. Not sure who to replace him with though, I think the most natural strikers of a ball are the Murphy''s but it''s probably to early for them to have this added pressure. - why not Jerome his our striker. -
Good grief I though my ears were burning! Whilst we''re talking about other Pups I thought Jellytot had a great touch of the ball on Tuesday night - better than some I saw on the hallowed turf. Right the season has started very poorly for me even by my low standards. So this week in the "West" derby I''m sure Bilic will have had a thing or too to say after last weeks defeat and I''ll take the Hammers to travel home with the 3 points West Brom V West Ham away win. For the match bet, I''m sure we are not as bad as some posters on here think we are for me Prichard to open his account for NCFC

Welcome Morgan, another addition to the PUPs? - best (friendliest) thread of the week so don''t miss it. Enjoy the "banter"

John Ruddy
The Great Drinkell replied to lincoln canary (& Golden Coppel)'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Averaging 2 goals a game conceded in the last 3 games.. not his fault but too many. Made some excellent saves last night but does have a tendency to parry and last night in the first half what looked a regular save to hold he pushed away, eventually this will catch him out. For me I''d be happier with JR -
Our Fans Attitude To OUR Young Players
The Great Drinkell replied to hogesar's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Seeing these two emerge is probably the highlight of the season so far- although I''m still not sure which ones which! -
F.A.O. Lakey, A Hat-Trick And 10/10.
The Great Drinkell replied to TIL 1010's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I was glad to see him sold, as I didn''t see him helping the team enough. Old Colin said on the radio - that when he was at Leeds - he wanted to build the team around him but we bought him and that why one of the biggest mistakes Leeds made. he knows more about football than I do. I just don''t think Snodgrass was right for us at the time - although he does have talent. -
I''m in the not disappointed camp kept hold of the core, would of liked to see KL go as he seems a bit of a loose cannon. lots of good youngsters out getting games (hopefully) what we need is some of the injury''s back. Ruddy, Pinto, Bennett, Klose, Ollsson Canos,Tetty,Howson,Pritchard Hoolahan, Jerome Looks competitive to me.

I''ve just been speaking to a friend who rang me specifically to see if I''d heard anything about a rumour going around about Akpom from Arsenal to Norwich on loan until January. I''ve heard or seen nothing on this personally - can''t see anything in it personally - but has any one heard anything or see this as possible?

Kyle Lafferty to Cardiff City
The Great Drinkell replied to cardiffcity's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
If Laffs needs a lift, I can go to Kent via Cardiff tomorrow. -
hello fellow PUPs having seen and heard how poor Coventry were not only on Tuesday night but also last week at Bradford, I''m going for a bit of a long shot and tipping Northampton to continue there long run of good results. Coventry v NORTHAMPTON away win. For the match bet I was always nervous about this fixture as my Dad was a Blue nose, and I always remember them getting the upper hand against us. (and of course the play off Final!) I''ll go for a 2-1 home win and hope I''m hopelessly wrong.

The new Thierry Henry
The Great Drinkell replied to Crafty Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think this was a great move for both clubs and the player. I''m sure he will become a better player over then next few seasons and good luck to him -
Blimey don''t the weeks go quick? there is a saying that birds of a feather flock together and so I''m going with Nana this week and picking the Magpies to come good in front of their home crowd. Newcastle to Beat Huddersfield For the match bet I always like to see the opposition players telling the press about how they are going back to their old club and are going to do a job on them. Well Mr Hooper I think you might just see why you were released on Saturday and I''ll go for Naismith to score and a home win. despite the fact I can''t remember the last time we beat Wednesday at our place? Good luck pickers.

woolacombe pub showing the Derby.
The Great Drinkell replied to The Great Drinkell's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Thanks DDD i''ll check it out. -
I can only repeat the thanks already given to Nutty for keeping this thread going ( I''m sure it''s the only one that keeps us sane?) I feel a tide of optimism is flowing over the City of Bristol and although I won''t be there to see them visit Carrow Road I do think they might be the surprise team this season. So I''m going for Bristol City v Wigan Home win. For the Match bet I think a HT Home/FT Draw might be the outcome. ( always difficult to win away on the opening day - just ask Colchester!!) The very best of luck to both pickers.

Keeper this season
The Great Drinkell replied to Nuff Said's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Ruddy head wasn''t in the right place when his form dipped last season, hopefully he''ll be back to somewhere near his best this season. McGovern had a good Euros but has only been at Hamilton previously he still has a lot to prove. As for good distribution from a goalkeeper I can''t remember the last keeper we had who had this.... probably Chris Woods? -
Would the board please explain
The Great Drinkell replied to Crafty Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
No where have I seen it written that Brady has said he doesn''t want to be here GPB, can I assume that is an assumption on your part? as that can be dangerous
